No other reincarnation of the Sky One logo ever came close to this. Back in the day when you knew you were watching something different. Nobody puts any effort into logos these days
@@sd-11-11-sd: the Sky Movies idents of this era were equally cinematic. A film was an event in those days, particularly a premiere. The 93-95 era logos were the most cinematic they did though I think.
Back in the days when they couldn’t shift satellite dishes and Sky One showed utter drivel to become a company that now pays billions of pounds for the rights to Premier League football. And ITV just sat back and didn’t see them as a threat
@MJA Telecorp Tele 5 used a slightly modified version of the same theme in 1994. And I suppose that actually, both of these versions were composed by Gari Communications in America.
Wouldn't the people at Comcast be better closing down Sky Max and Sky Atlantic (seeing that it is just endless repeats of Game of Thrones, The Soprano's, Billions, Das Boot, Fish Town (god that series needs burning), Boardwalk Empire and give us back Sky One and in particular that logo (or a modified one) but most importantly that theme. God help Sky if HBO pull their programmes because they'll have to close Sky Atlantic down then!
@coolcrabcakes This musical theme would be appropiate for a morning newscast on a local TV station from the USA... Is it Gari Communications (now Gari Media Group/WCPM) that created the music for Sky TV's channels in this period, INCLUDING Sky One?
Stephen Arnold’s Signature package as well as Gari Media’s Great News Package and News Line (the latter known for use by German broadcaster RTL) would all be used
_Here we go! The telly's most exciting game show! 30 minutes of prizes and surprises on the all new Price is Right!_
This is sky one part of the British satellite broadcasting been over 30 years when I saw this logo and it brings me back to when I was 8 years old

Totally agree. This title is almost cinematic in its showmanship!

And by sitting back, ITV lost the footie. ITV wasn't so big when Sky came along.
Too bad it's all gone..😢
No, really!😭
Also used for Telecinco in Spain.
@Calix marble sports 1994
Yes, 1994

So this is stock I guess.
It's in stereo, you never heard it that way on the Astra 1A satellite.
Did Sky only play this in mono? I know they used to use this as a bed over programme lineup cards.
Yes they didn't play it in stereo on the Astra Satellite even before stereo shows like Parker Lewis Can't Lose.
You would on Marcopolo before the signals ended.

Despite currently streaming on Disney Plus, the yellow fellas are still there.

It’s always sounded to my ears like Gari did the entire 1989 Sky package. Sky Movies also sounds a lot like Gari’s work to me.
Yes, they also did the music for the 1993-95 package too.
If it was to be used by a television station in the United States, then Stephen Arnold Music’s Signature package would have to be used with it…
