    Oh how lovely is the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ prophesied by all the Holy Prophets since the world began. The dispensation of the fullness of times.

    It’s interesting to me that these men began their separate journeys of research, that would eventually converge, in 1978 - the very year that the revelation on the priesthood came to be. The Lord is always willing to pour out his knowledge and wisdom for the benefit of his children. We just have to listen and be ready to act!

    Not to.mention that The Book of Mormon was published exactly ten years later, on March 26th, 1830.
    Convincing evidence, if not definitive.

    This has now become one of my most important annual celebrations. March 26, 1830, exactly ten years to the day, is when the Book of Mormon went on sale at the local Grandin print shop. A very important connection!

    After all that wonderful research to come to the same conclusion, I wonder why they didn’t check the date to see how it compared the ancient Hebrew Feast holidays? Many restoration dates correspond to Hebrew Holidays like the dedication of the Kirtland Temple on Palm Sunday in 1836 and the visions of Elijah, Moses etc restoring Keys the following Sunday which was Easter and also coincided with the Hebrew Passover when the Jews look for Elijah to return. So when was the 26th of March in 1820 in respect to these Hebrew Feast days? Easter date calculators tell us that 26 March 1820 was Palm Sunday, the day of Christ’s Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem ! What could be more significant than Christ appearing on that same day to Brother Joseph to enter in or open the Last Dispensation ::: triumphally?!!

      I have no doubt, the first vision is true, that Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ appeared to young prophet Joseph Smith :
      43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
      The kingdom of God is given to the nation of the USA through the young farmer boy Joseph Smith Jr...bringing forth the fruits thereof. (Matthew 21)
      In the name ofJesus Christ, the Saviour. Amen.

    I love all of the false attempts to undermine the event. If it didn't happen and all visions and revelations ceased with the early Apostles, then why persecute an obscure 14 year old boy of no consequence? Either he experienced what he said or he didn't. It doesn't take more faith to accept the resurrection of Jesus Christ than to accept this experience. One could follow this example and go to the source of truth: God.

    This is not my own insight, but it’s true that 200 years later - to the day - the Lord moved upon the prophet and first presidency to close the temples around the world. God does not operate under coincidences. Only a week or so later, a solemn assembly was held and some have concluded that this was the end of the 1/2 hour of silence in Heaven that began April 6th, 2000, which was likely the opening of the 7th seal.

    • @woodrochristopherwood1578
      @woodrochristopherwood1578 Рік тому

      It is speculation that the Palmyra Temple Dedication is the Solemn assembly that is prophesied to take place in the Book of Revelation as the half hour of silence. Referencing Amos 3:7, President Gordon B. Hinckley would have have said so and it would have been very clear to the membership. However, it was never confirmed by the prophet himself as so many of the membership of the church wanted to attend the dedication that it was broadcast to a large audience in church buildings to many could attend. The Hosanna shout via conference wouldn't have been needed to conclude the 21 years of silence without knowing what it was about. Surely, President Russell M. Nelson would have known and said something if it was. It is of my opinion that the Solemn Assembly as referenced in the Book of Revelations will be a major activity all the church membership who want or can attend will be able to do so and will know specifically what the purpose is about in the future. There will be now doubt what it is for, yet I am sure the Prophet will announce in the assembly what it is about besides a temple dedication or a conference Hosanna Shout. Personally, I do believe that the 21 years of silence will be the greatest missionary work ever seen since the beginning of time on Earth. Yet as President Nelson has made changes, I am sure we will see the fruits of the Youth going on missions and new areas opening up for the gospel (The Book of Mormon) to flood the Earth. It is just a matter of time.

    Seers are also Prophets, and written works of prophets are considered to be sacred - however:
    The Book of the Covenant the Bible refers to is missing - Exodus 24:7
    The Book of Gad the Seer that the Bible speaks of is missing - 1 Chronicles 29:29
    The records of Nathan the prophet are spoken of by the Bible, but are missing - 1 Chronicles 29:29, 2 Chronicles 9:29

    The Annals of King David are spoken of, but are also missing - 1 Chronicles 27:24, 1 Kings 11:41
    The records of Shemaiah the prophet are also spoken of, but are missing - 2 Chron. 12:15
    The records of Iddo the prophet are also spoken of, but are missing - 2 Chron. 9:29, 13:22
    The book of Samuel the seer is spoken of, but missing - 1 Chronicles 29:29
    The book of the acts of Solomon are also spoken of, but missing also - 1 Kings 11:41
    The Prophecy of Ahija is spoken of, but missing as well - 2 Chronicles 9:29
    The book of Jehu is missing also - 2 Chronicles 20:34
    The Sayings of the Seers missing also - 2 Chronicles 33:19
    Early epistle of Paul to the Corinthians is spoken of, but missing - 1 Corinthians 5:9
    Early epistle of Paul to the Ephesians is also spoken of, but missing as well - Ephesians 3:3
    Early epistle of Paul to the Laodicians spoken of, but also missing - Colossians 4:16
    The rest of the acts of Uzziah written by Isaiah spoken of, but missing - 2 Chronicles 26:22
    Former Epistle of Jude referred to but missing - Jude 1:3
    The prophecies of Enoch are quoted but missing - Jude 1:14
    The Book of Esaias is mentioned, but missing - Luke 3:4, Luke 4:17
    The importance of the book of Esaias can’t be stressed enough, for it is continually referenced and quoted by John the Baptist, the apostles and others - even Christ himself continually quoting from it to explain all the prophecies he was fulfilling - Mat. 3:3, 4:14-16, 8:17, 12:17-21, 13:14-15, 15:7-9, Mark 7:6-9, Luke 3:4, 4:17, John 1:23, 12:37-41, Acts 8:27-30, 28:25, Rom. 9:27-29, 10:16-20
    Matthew says that he knew from scripture that Jesus was a Nazarene, but that information is found nowhere in the Old Testament - Matthew 2:23
    Christ’s reaction of moneychangers in temple remind Apostles of well-known scripture missing from Bible - John 2:17
    It was prophesied that Christ’s side would be pierced and his legs would not be customarily broken, but this prophecy is found nowhere in the OT - John 19:31-37
    Not everything about Jesus is written in the Bible - John 20:30
    The world couldn't contain all the books about Jesus - John 21:25

    Critics of the Church argue against the reality of the First Vision by saying that Joseph Smith did not record his experience with the vision until many years after it occurred.
    Fawn Brodie has written that Joseph made up stories of angels in 1834 in response to charges made by E.D. Howe, one of the first anti-Mormon writers. (Did she miss the Articles and Covenants of the Church?)
    If Joseph's accounts of angelic visitations were fabricated in response to writings by critics, we must wonder how the critics knew of such events in the first place….) E.D. Howe quotes Ezra Booth as having said in 1831 that Joseph described "an angel, as having the appearance of 'a tall, slim, well-built, handsome man, with a bright pillar upon his head'" (Howe, Mormonism Unvailed, p. 187). If Joseph was telling people about divine visions - even including the pillar of light - how can Brodie say that he waited until years later to make that story up?

Brigham was an imposter and his church wouldn't even be recognized by Joseph. The Book is to bring people to Christ. It teaches the fullness of the Gospel: faith, repentance, and baptism. More or less than what Christ himself taught during his visit disqualifies it as being Christ's church. And the lds church has a LOT "more".

  • @stelladavis7832
    @stelladavis7832 4 роки тому +5

    Wow, I just stumbled on crazy. But do Mormons know that Smith gave a lot of different accounts of the first vision? The first one he actually recorded in his diary was a very standard protestant depiction, reflecting his initial trinitarian beliefs. He only mentions seeing one personage, and that personage said he was the lord, and he made zero mention of starting up his own church and that all church's were an abomination. This personage just forgave Smith his sins and said the world is in sin. It was much later that Smith changed it to two beings, telling him all the other church's are BS.

    • @102wingnut
      @102wingnut 4 роки тому +4

      All of the various accounts are published by the church. Have you actually read them all or are you just repeating what you heard? They are not all identical, but all contain the same core events. Most recorded versions of the first vision were not written by Joseph Smith himself but by people retelling what he said. Undoubtedly he told different parts and included different details depending on his audience and purpose. If something like that happened to me I wouldn't tell CNN the same thing I would tell close members of my family.

We all know now that in these same writings in which he Joseph Smith describes his first vision account he also tell how the book of Mormon was translated... which we all know now was a lie and all of the current leaders of church admit that the real way he translated it was by looking in a hat with a rock in it... Joseph Smith was a good man... who started a church out of the personal conflict with in his own family structure... tell the truth? He did sometimes... lie? He did sometimes... tell stories? He did sometimes... he was what I call the religious teshla or inventor of religion... and he did it... by reading the bible... he did it himself... that is why he said " I have done more for the salvation of mankind... than even Jesus Christ himself... or Paul... they were running from the church that he stated... nobody is running from the church I started...yet! he pretty much says it all right there.... quote: note those words... "that i started" not that god started, but that i started... Joseph Smith was also a very proud and vain man...but I do believe that his heart was in the right place... what a character... I call him "the self made prophet" the teshla of religion...

      Typical anti-Mormon troll, using Strawman arguments, faulty logic, gaslighting, lies and so on. Is the GSB’s bowling alley full? The statement about Joseph doing more for the salvation of man save Jesus only was not made by Joseph, but rather the church pulling from the eye witness accounts of the martyrdom from Taylor and Richards. One things for certain, you anti-mormon trolls sure don’t care about facts and accuracy. Just look at Stella below. You guys are gaslighting frauds (Matt 23:15)

      What do you call somebody then? Who stands before a congregation of 2,000 believing saint's as their chosen prophet, seer and revelatory... and denounce his personal involvement in polygamy... when at the time of the sermon, we now know he had something like around 37 wife's... and he didn't tell his wife number #1... about all those other wife's ... what word would you like us to use out of Your English dictionary/vocabulary To define such a man?

    How incredibly gullible people can be. Make something sound scientific, it must have really happened that way, wow.
