i think camilla from ten years ago is gone and a very wise woman emerged. i can honestly say she made me sick. til the queen died and she showed what she’s made of. and it’s a lot going from world hardest woman to queen. we never thought we’d see it. and we are and i’m more impressed how she’s stepped in as mother hen.

@helenflynn96 Wrong-o!! The Palace/Monarch can--and does--exercise influence over the aristocracy as well as the hoi polloi. The aristocracy swears realty to the Monarch. Orvwerent you paying attention to Charles's coronation? Diana's brother would have been chastised for threatening to close down businesses since he didn't have the authority, nor was he acting on behalf of the Queen in the 1980s or now. The laws are enforced on behalf of the Monarch. People who are arrested and jailed are said to be "guests of [the monarch]." The monarch's face is on the coins and paper money. Parliament forms a government in the monarch's name. Buy and read a couple of biographies on the royals.
@onemercilessming1342 It's you that is wrong. You have made a right fool of yourself. The monarchy has no authority whatsoever over the aristocracy. If that were the case, they wouldn't have had to sit and listen to Earl Spencer insult them in his speech at Diana's funeral. Members of the aristocracy are only answerable to the law of the land. The English monarchy are bound by the same laws. The power of the monarchy is symbolic only. You must be very stupid to believe otherwise.
