Basically whatever CGI issues or minute wrong things in the movie, is covered by “HE THROWS A LEOPARD AT A GUY”. That just solves every problem in this movie LOL!
This is not a Bollywood film (Hindi), it's a Tollywood film (Telugu). Not all Indian movies are Bollywood. In fact, majority of those ridiculous scenes that are viral on the internet do not belong to Bollywood. India has multiples languages (languages, not just dialects). There's at least 29 languages with over a million native speakers, of which 22 are major languages (& also official languages of India, with English being the 23rd language of administration). @Tobias Ellis Nope, the story is not real. Only the names of the two lead characters, British occupation of India during that time period and the "god like" saffron attire (with bow and arrow) of Rama Raju during the climax is real.
The sound design has a lot to do with making things hit in this film. They will quiet a lot of the background noise and accentuate sounds, like pulling back the bolt on a gun, the spinning shell ejecting, reloading, a foot hitting the ground. It's giving the viewer a super power... hyperawareness... living in their world. And it makes the shot and punch feel so much bigger and more important. The director and his entire team just really get film making on an epic level.

This movie was so fire!! I watched it on a whim after hearing people randomly talking about how much they liked it. They were not lying! I gotta figure out how to get my family to watch this. They're picky, but I think they'd like this if they start watching.
Just keep talking about it. Keep up the hype and throw an RRR watching party at your house they will come. Tell them this is like nothing they ever seen. They will love it.
The bridge scene is really symbolic in every way Bheem is fighting for Malli so he grabbed the child hand and and Ram is fighting for his country that's why he hold flag of the country and because of that their path crossed
One more fun fact: Bheem and Rama Raju were real Indian revolutionaries (sadly, both ended up being executed by the British). The story is a fictional "what if?" about undocumented periods in their lives. The writers just imagined what could have happened if the two had been friends.

Actually SS. Rajamouli said there were so many ideas they had to leave out because the movie is already 3 hours long. He is a master story teller with such imagination and creativity.

Great reaction. You compared this to Avengers a few times. Marvel movies are lot even in the same league. RRR had a compelling story, heaps of heart and soul, and plenty of fresh ideas. Avengers movies are simply a bunch of tired old visual tropes and rehashed, stale, structures that we’ve all seen thousands of times.

This is basically live action anime at its finest 🤣 If you liked this, you should check out Sardar Udham, quite possibly the most impactful movie that I have seen in the last 5 years or so and it also tackles similar themes. Its also set in the colonial era of India and follows a rebel but tackles the whole colonialism theme in a very dark and gritty way.
Bheem is not the person whose face is depicted in the wanted poster that Ram is carrying around (although a lot of reactors seem to make that error). The wanted poster depicts Bheem's comrade, the guy who was being chased by Ram earlier. P.s. That guy and Bheem are not brothers - neither is Bheem Malli's brother. The term "brother" as used in the movie can be regarded as being synonymous with "Bro". P.p.s. Yes, you _do_ need guns. I just want to clarify, bollywood is a hindi language speaking cine industry based out of mumbai formerly "bombay", hence bollywood, RRR is a "telugu" language speaking cine industry hence tollywood which is based out of hyderabad, likewise we many many woods which are based out of many cities and their respective languages.

One thing I think goes underappreciated is that SSR is an actor's director, yes, but an audience director first and foremost. He never loses track of the fact that the AUDIENCE needs to care about the characters, the situation, and the emotion more than any critic, journalist, or reviewer may ever get a chance to. He's mentioned in multiple interviews that he cares more about the actor's performances than he does about the precise framing, lighting, art and set direction, all of which he delegates (very wisely) to the crack team that he's assembled over the years. He has a vision, and he trusts them to carry out his vision implicitly, but he's never afraid to take constructive criticism either from his own crew.
The VFX in this film are top tier. From the practical to the CGI and there's a significant amount of both... in some shocking places. Scenes you don't even realize are nearly all CGI backgrounds are. Shots you'd swear are CGI are practical. They did an extremely good job mixing them and using them to the best of their ability. This is the kind of film where you just chuck any sort of reality to the wind and throw down with the film and have a blast with an insanely good story and ridiculously awesome action, because it straight up is an anime. Everything exaggerated and heightened. Including the colors and lighting. This film is just beautiful. I haven't seen a ton of films out of India, but no joke this is a common sort of thing. Just let go of realism and enjoy the insanity... even when there isn't some anime style character. And they always manage such beautiful shots.

They created those Realistic Backgrounds and Crowd simulations with Free CGI Software Blender by Makuta they changed entire pipeline for Rrr And Bheem intro scene with Tiger fight is Created by MPC who created photorealistic CGi for Lionking. Rajamouli Really knows How to maintain Budget.

The best part of this film is the very real sense of them being brothers. The montage builds that up beautifully, but then a decision like this just solidifies it over and over.
Take a look at other SS rajamouli films (who's the director of RRR) like bahubali 1&2, Eega, Magadheera. Other indian movies thumbad, robot for a larger than life experience just like other Rajamouli movies. Actually i got a pretty big list but, I don't ramp your brains with confusion 😂
This movie never lets plausibility get in the way of a good time. You could say it goes way over the top, but actually it just makes you feel like other movies dont go far enough.

First Indian movie to get huge international success in all of Asia & Latin America), - Dangal (biographical women sports drama), - Bajrangi Bhaijaan (an emotional roller coaster about a mute Pakistani girl who gets lost in India), - PK (a comedy that talks about superstition in religion), - Andhadhun (a blind pianist gets embroiled in a murder. Won't give any further spoilers, it's an incredible thriller).
Thanks to RRR'S Oscar win, I hope it opens the door for more Indian cinema to be considered for other major categories. I really wish RRR had been up for Best Picture!
Not technically a Bollywood movie. Indian film is very regional thing and language is a big deal (the constitution currently recognizes 22 languages). There are several major film making centers throughout India based on language. It might be even accurate to say there's no one cinema of India, rather several cinemas. Bollywood films are made in the Hindi language, while this movie is a Tollywood film made in the Telegu language (although for some stupid reason Netflix gave Americans the Hindi dub of this film). Indian film is such a vast topic that's barely touched on in Western film discourse. Some of my recommendations of both classics and newer movies: Sholay (1975) Pather Panchali (1955) Gangs of Wasseypur, Parts 1 and 2 (2012) 3 Idiots (2009) Black Friday (2004) Bombay (1995) Lagaan (2001) Super Deluxe (2019)

This movie pulled emotions out of me I didn't know I had. Incredible movie!! I enjoyed reliving it with you!!
I like how you were still a filmmaker in the beginning, but then you were reduced to a giggling heap by the end and no coherent words were coming out.
I adore that there's like a title drop about 1/3 of the way into the movie which is then followed up by a banger montage about friendship.

Not technically a Bollywood movie. Indian film is very regional thing and language is a big deal (the constitution currently recognizes 22 languages). There are several major film making centers throughout India based on language. It might be even accurate to say there's no one cinema of India, rather several cinemas. Bollywood films are made in the Hindi language, while this movie is a Tollywood film made in the Telegu language (although for some stupid reason Netflix gave Americans the Hindi dub of this film). Indian film is such a vast topic that's barely touched on in Western film discourse.
