Also, the space between the central design on a stamp and the edges of the stamp should "ideally" be equal on all sides (centering of the stamp). If one side is narrower than the other, it makes the stamp less valuable. I think it is only when say half of the stamp is "cut off" by perforation, one start to call it an error on the stamp which might be rare and more valuable than the "usual" of that stamp. I hope I am right!!! I am still learning myself! I also learned something from you about the presidents. Take care!
