- Polls have closed in Pakistan after the authorities suspended mobile calls and data while millions voted for a new government in a controversial election.
The interior ministry said incidents of terrorism made the measure necessary.
The election comes almost two years after the previous prime minister, cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan, was ousted in a no-confidence vote.
Three-time PM Nawaz Sharif was on the ballot in what many analysts say is Pakistan's least credible election yet.
It's unclear how soon results will be announced but they must be released within two weeks of election day.

As a Pakistani let me tell(regarding elections) the international audience what is happening here: Me and my entire family yesterday voted for Khan. There were many senior citizens who came in cars despite they couldn't walk properly(their family members were helping them to walk towards the voting stations) only because they have this small hope that our right to vote can bring a change. Us citizens are fed up of our corrupt politicians & today Imran khan has the support of roughly around 70-80% of the population in Pakistan hands down, the recent events of putting him up in jail, targeting over 18,000 of his party workers, removing his election symbol, discussing intimate things of his marriage with him and his wife - a marriage which was completely consensual by both of them and so many other things which has had an opposite effect(predicted by opposition) on the people and now even more people support Khan than they did previously. My heart crumbles seeing the people of the country with fracturing economy still haven't choose violence because Imran Khan demanded to vote instead of fighting and we did our part. You can even see in the survey videos where majority of the people were and have voting/ voted for Khan and it's very obvious that fair results would mean Khan's party grabbing the most votes. And any other result than this means the elections weren't conducted fairly. People of this nation have been insulted, ridiculed by the corrupt politicians and the western media, the people of this nation are called terror!st when they are just suffering silently and one may think at a point, why not fight? when we are being called terror!st anyways? because sitting back and doing things peacfully has still labled this state as terror!st headquarters silently bearing all the taunts, the people are in state of great depression and mental health crisis, and after this state comes anger. The anger which than doesn't care about the slogans thrown upon them, because they have nothing to loose at this point. The people of this country are also fed up of the crystal clear western involvement in our politics and media. This region is on a brink of a massive civ!l w@r that could escalate beyond the country'sborder. And this is a nuclear state, the western involvement and the establishment seems to be forgetting this. Indian media also keeps yelling ''pakistan & muslims'' ''pakistan & muslims'' while the people are themselves are fed up of selfish establishment, and let me also tell you most of the corrupt politicians in Pakistan live a lifestyle that's more inclined with the west, they party, drink alcohol, commit adultery, deal in interests - all of these things are prohibited upon muslims. We don't have party culture, don't drink alcohol, become intimate with another person only after marriage, don't deal with interest as it's haram. So when the western media and other medias blame Islam for this they speak on it with false indoctrination(probably the 9/11 event & basically most people here in east believe it was as inside job because again that doesn't align with muslims beliefs as in Qur' an: ''k!lling one innocent person is as though he has k!lled the entire humanity'') and ignorance. Regarding 9/11 whatever maybe the reality but as of righ now that's what the people of east believe and it's simply because the common citizen has been suffering for decades for trying to live peacfully and thinks it's the western powers who are bribing the leaders of the east to keep the people in poverty and ensalved. This is exactly why rebellion groups are errupting in middle east because it's simply people have had enough. And if the Pakistan government doesn't take better initiatives, a revolution in Pakistan could soon erupt. Thanks for reading :)

As soon as all TV channels announced the results according to Election Form 45, stating that Imran Khan's candidates were winning 170 seats in the election, the internet was suddenly shut down and the reporting of the winning results stopped. Our army then changed the results at gunpoint after visiting every city's Election RO offices. There is significant evidence that has been collected against these undemocratic actions. It is very disheartening for us to discover that our own army and ISI are allegedly highly involved in tampering with the election results, which has shattered the nation's hopes with their undemocratic actions.😢😢😢😢

The Pakistani army is doing the same thing that was done with Sheikh Mujib Rahman and what Bajwa did in 2018, depriving the PTI of 40 to 50 seats through rigging. The establishment, Election Commission, and General Qazi Dalal are brokers for the Sharif family who want to deprive the PTI of a two-thirds majority and nothing else.
General Asim Munir paid his due as a broker to the Sharif family. These are not truly free elections because if they were, the PML-N would not have more than 30 seats and the PPP would not have more than 20.
General Asim Munir used his power and all the machinery of the caretaker government to help rig the elections and defeat the PML-N and PPP through force and corruption. Except for a revolution, this corruption will not be corrected by the establishment.
Results are being tempered that's the only reason for the long delay.

According to independent reports, PTI has won well over 150 National Assembly seats & is in a solid position to form government in Federal, Punjab & KP, with a clear majority.
However, manipulation of the results in the late hours of the night is an utter disgrace & a brazen theft of the nation’s mandate.
The people of Pakistan vehemently reject the rigged results.
