just pointing out, $100 SGD is ~$73 USD. but i understand the part about being rude. it's not unheard of to have a minimum order here in singapore though :-(. i think some restaurants don't think you're 'worth the time/effort' if you don't order enough by their standards.
In U.S. it is usually 30 bucks for all you can eat hotpot. *If you saw this comment then hope you have the best day of your life! Love from a small UA-camr!* ♥

I adore the heart-shaped outdoor seating -- presumably for couples -- that is echoed in the hotpot tents' tables! This feels like a restaurant version of the glamping (glamourous/luxury camping) thing that's become the rage in recent years. I see there seems to be a lovers' theme, but... but why did they put the "E" of "MARRY ME" backwards? I'm giggling because it doesn't seem intentional... and because the dice there are kind of sending a mixed message, y'all. You wanna propose? You are taking a gamble, doing it here!
Yeah, the “E” was bothering me lol. The entire “feel” of the place feels kinda weird, like those spots that are more for great pics for instagram rather than food.
i'd definitely be okay with a 2 hour dining limit, since i usually don't take that long just to eat my food at a restaurant, but a $100 spending minimum? never in my life have i heard of such a thing, and i can't imagine that sort of restaurant policy to be very appreciated by some people, especially those who can't afford to spend $100 dollars on a hotpot meal
Minimal spending limit for private room is pretty common in Asia, generally in places where alternative general dining hall table option exists (in this case, I guess the two person chair things outside). So if you don't plan to order much, you could just do that instead. The rooms are generally used by those who want extra privacy, or in this case, an interesting experience. It is almost always per room. It is usually expected for the rooms to host at least 2, but usually four or more people so splitting the 100 Singapore dollar bill (76 USD as of this writing) is not all that much. I would say that in this case, given how small the tent are (and thus making it hard to host more than two people) and the alternative being subject to bad weather make it a bit more problematic than normal. But in general these sort of policy aren't considered problematic because no-minimal alternative exists.
@@justanoman6497 that's actually pretty interesting. i've never heard anyone really talk about this kind of policy myself, but that's probably because i live in the united states and all that. might do some research on foreign restaurant policies in the future, because this very much intrigued me.
Considering each tent can seat up to 4 people, I wouldn't say the 100$ spending limit isn't too insane. If you do a double-date, that's 25$ per person, no tips required, and if you go with just your partner, it's 50$ per head. It's pricy, but unless you're a solo diner, it seems pretty doable, all things considered. You can think of the 100$ as a rental fee, of sorts, for the private room experience, but the cost is covered by what looks like a pretty solid meal rather than an additional charge. Makes sure the restaurant doesn't just host a bunch of tablewarmers, who waste one of their timeslots by nursing a cup of tea and some chicken skewers the whole time.
@@SherlocksLeftNipple Yeah and I think especially considering it's not really a "oh let's go out to dinner" type place and more a "this is a very special valentines/anniversery/etc meal" it makes a lot of sense for it to be priced at more of a premium

When I saw all the tents lined up, I went " Ooooh, cool!" Whilst good to excellent food can stick in the mind, sometimes the setting makes the meal truly memorable. A tent may not seem like a glamorous setting, but when it's in an urban setting and set up like this, it becomes a first class venue!
They force u to spend $100 and u sit in the tightest area ever. Provide no proper attire to clean yourself, and expect you to have a good time. That business will surely fail
I agree the concept is nice but the tents could use a lot of improvements like the size for example and maybe they could put an electric fan in the corner at least

I watch all these videos repeatedly (I'm not entirely certain why) mostly for enjoyment, but sometimes, as with this ones, I begin to notice other things. In this one, it's the fact that Western traditions of love and courtship seem to be taking over across the planet.
