    thank you. The clay that I use the most is sandstone of "Saint-Amand", it's a white clay with fine grog. But I try a lot of different clays. The clay in this video is a rich iron clay wihtout grog called "xing's clay"

    Why do you skip filming making the beads on the outside bottoms? 3rd one I have watched with same step missing.

      probably because it's not very interesting imo. I certainly show it in other video like this one :

    Exquisite! How did you add that detail on the sides along the bottom - the two half rounds - you didn’t show that. Were they extruded then added?

    • @Greg-ceramics
      @Greg-ceramics  6 місяців тому

      Yes exactly, extruded.
      It's an old video, I show more detail on the recent. For example, you can see how I make the texture here ua-cam.com/video/tMuOglQ5DtQ/v-deo.html

      @@Greg-ceramics Thank you! It’s really beautiful! Lastly, Im just guessing that you cut the bevel angle for each piece at 22.5 degrees for an eight-sided shape? If that’s the case, I may have to fashion one, unless you sell them?

    Hi Greg, how do you make such clean lines around the bottom of the pot? The 2 line detail above the feet are so clean. Thanks!

    the edges of the slab were not cut in an angle?

    • @Greg-ceramics
      @Greg-ceramics  Рік тому

      As there are 8 faces, the sides are cut at 22.5° instead of 45°, that's why we hardly see the angle. (and the poor quality of the video doesn't help to see well either 😅 )
      The bottom is not angled, but I made this video 9 or 10 years ago, today I'll probably do it differently. 😆

    do you need to add a glaze or anthing to the clay to make it waterproof, or if you don't will it become soft again if it gets too wet?

      je n'ai pas de temps indicatif, ça dépend de la terre, de son taux d'humidité de la température ambiante, etc... J'assemble quand la texture me semble appropriée.

    • @Greg-ceramics
      @Greg-ceramics  6 років тому +6

      Be creative, you can make textures with lots of things around you. For this one I just used a piece of broken plaster, sometimes I use an old piece of wood, a piece of bark, a pebble, etc ...

      it isn't a question of time, it can change with each piece depending on the weather, the humidity, the temperature, the humidity level of the clay ...
      it's just done by feeling
