actually they used to pray for me to find a good wife too lol. She is heavily reliant in her experience and ignores the nuance in gender societal interactions and takes it from her side lol this is funny
"As a white man, effectively it's not up to you to say something isn't racist, especially if a person of color is saying it is", so because of the color of a man's skin, that automatically invalidates his opinion? There's a saying, if you reverse the races in something and it sounds racist, then it was racist to begin with. Now put this into perspective, I'll say, "As a black man, effectively it's not up to you to say something isn't racist, especially if a white person is saying it is." He'd be labeled a racist on sight. So much for being blind to color.
Honestly, I am listening to clips of this great figure for the first time today and I am liking her. Maybe I haven't watched or heard enough from her to make me hate her as a feminist, but I think I have heard a little that have stirred up some good thoughts inside me from her point of view. Though I cannot categorically say I am a feminist but I support that women, being accepted for who they are, be given more opportunity in the society and be empowered (talking from economist's point of view), it will have a positive effect on economic growth and development globally. Meanwhile, I need help on this question: Are the concepts feminism, gender equality and women's empowerment the same?
I don’t quite understand why a parent would wish their daughter to grow up believing that it is not their capacity and capability that will stand on their way but somehow it’s some kind of underhand scheme by men(patriarchy). And yet we have women who chart their ways into greatness from sheer grit even when it comes to have to demand their rightful place where this is not automatically granted on a platter. Such is life. And I say this as a black person who benefits from the outcomes of civil rights movement. This movement came to an end. The feminism movement must come to an end too. In my view the rest of the battle must be an individual battle, not systematic. Not when you have the world now being skewed somewhat against men because the proponents of the so called modern day feminism are no longer fighting for equal rights but using feminism to gain power and wealth. This woman for example makes quite a lot of money selling books hiding beneath a flawed feminism argument.
I love Chimamanda..I admire her intelligence but i do not agree with her on who Trump is..Maybe she will have a change of mind about who he is sometime to come.
Perhaps you are ignorant about public speaking or being hypocritical. Re-emphasising on the word "i think" is an intelligent way to remind/communicate an opinion rather than a fact or verity. She used "i think" in areas where she felt the need to express an opinion so as to communicate the point better. In Public Speaking communicating the point is key, rather than trying to beautify a speech and loose the point.
@@lekeoyetoke For your info, I'm also in a public speaking space but mentioning i think , i think repeatedly is not encouraged . She is using it as a filler word. Its better to pause so that you can collect you thoughts...anyway? its just my opinion i didn't ask you to be rude.

If only there was even a handful of women in America with such eloquence, humanity, compassion, decency, common sense and clarity of mind and being as this lovely woman...instead of the shallow, pretentious, small-minded, hypocritical and venal attitudes and mentalities of most American women. There are better examples in other countries

The restaurant bill pedantry at the end may be an East Coast thing. Never happened to me in Chicago, we just divide the bill equally every time.
The trans debate is very lucrative for her next agenda.

KAIZ0 her point is it doesn’t happen that often with men as it is with women 🙄
I hope Hillary Clinton watches this.

Yes they are. That is simply what feminism is
Feminism and gender equality are the same. However, female empowerment is more of an effect of feminism rather than what it is.
Feminism stresses on gender equality so yes, gender equality, women empowerment is what feminism stands for.

Context is very important

But this interviewer seems so uninterested...like she can't wait for the interview finish.
Paballo Molingoane nahh. I don't think so
She is a good speaker but I lost count of I think, I think, I think, too many I think...unbelievable for someone who is a public speaker .
you must be white, it shows in how dumb and inconsistent with reason your comment is
