If my mother had ever spoken that way to a wife of mine, she wouldn't be allowed to put one foot in my home.

I do 99% of the cooking, and 100% of the grocery shopping. My wife works from home full time (I’m retired) so that’s fair. My wife has to take a 3 1/2 hour drive to the office for two days every two weeks. That’s pretty much the only time she leaves the house. She’s a bigger hermit then I am. But dang I do adore her, and after 8 kids and all these years I’m still madly in love with her.

Our marriage was " perfect" until it wasn't 😢
He worked. I did everything else, incl working when I could. He wasn't interested until the end he demanded money as I spend all HIS money . Sad looking back , when I struggled coping for years

On what planet is it acceptable for anyone to demand to go and stay in someone else's house and make rules and call the shots. That is that height of bad manners. If someone is old enough to get married then they old enough not to obey their elders.Myblood is boiling! It’s interesting to me how when a wife has a job the MIL and family try to force her to quit and treat her like garbage and if she chooses to be a stay at home housewife she also is a disgrace, bullied, and told she is a lazy useless wife. WTF! And why is this abusive C-word still in your house? Tell her she is not welcome there when your husband isn’t home.

I would tell the MIL that she is NOT invited, and she will NOT be staying there, and that if she tries to barge in, I will call the cops and have her removed for trespassing. NOBODY has "the right" to just barge into another person's home. EVEN IF THEY ARE A PARENT OF ONE OF THE OCCUPANTS, THEY HAVE ZERO "RIGHTS" TO DEMAND SUCH THINGS.

Second, if she called me to wake me up & have breakfast ready when she returned from her morning exercise, I would have woke up; not to make breakfast, but to throw her stuff in a garbage bag. I'd then pee in a cup & pour that on her clothes & stuff in bag. Then I'd throw it out the front door, & lock house up. (And I'd put a note on door that says, "Leave, or I'll call the cops! Bye.")

I don’t know why the daughter in law didn’t choose violence. The dil’s are always so weak in these stories. These stories must be written by people living in cultures where women are 2nd class citizens because I don’t know anyone who would put up with this kind of treatment. I wish anyone let alone a mil tried to do me like that & in my own home too. They’d catch these hands before they stepped one foot in my house.
