Thank you very much for the video! I think this is the most complete information about t-proof on all of UA-cam. Just bought this camera from Japan, your video gave me complete information about the camera! big like and subscribe! Good luck! P.S It may also be useful to someone, the camera has a very fragile battery cover latch. A lot of cameras are sold with a broken latch. As the seller from Japan suggested, it is better to use a coin, cover it with a sheet of paper (so as not to scratch the case) and use this to open the lock, this way the lid opens easily)
Very nice video, thank you! How long does it take for your T5 to reload the flash? Mine has to reload like 10 seconds with the flashing red light in the viewfinder..
Thank you! Flash recharge time depends on how powerful the preceding flash was (more light drains the capacitor more) and also how strong or weak the battery is. Ten seconds sounds about right.
I do. There's a self-timer button on the top. The section with the camera's top features should either point that out or cover it. The description will have links to help find it.
I actually just got one of these T-proofed cameras. I’m certain it’s the same model you have and I think it’s a 1995 camera, but I could be wrong on the year. I actually need mine repair as it won’t fire.
First up, nice camera! For the repair, just to check because it's easy to miss, is the battery installed and is the battery new? If not, the camera won't fire. Also, if yes, try testing it outside. It may not want to fire if you're testing it indoors, especially if the flash is set to off.
@@DavidHancock I’ll try that! And the camera seems to be in decent condition with some minor scrapes etc. I’ve also seen some check the battery port out with something to get rid of any corrosion
@@mayachapman6503 hmm, that's odd. Might try reinstalling the battery. If it continues to be an issue your camera might have something called capacitor drain. Sometimes faulty capacitors can drain a new battery in a day or less. I've seen it with other models of camera but in theory it could be an issue with any camera that has a capacitor.
Hi man ! Going on a trip tomorrow and i have a film inside my t5 but i still have 16 frames left. It's a 400 iso and i need to replace it with a 125 or 200. If i rewind the 400 iso film inside the t5, and put it back inside later, will it go back to the last position it was before ?
I recently inherited a T5D from my grandpa. I didn't think it was such a capable camera!

@davidhancock new battery and new film. Before I put the film in it actually just turned on and was set to zero! But now it won’t turn back on.

@@DavidHancock ahhh I see, the battery I bought is a energizer lithium 123. Idk if I different brand would work better? Everything looks pretty clean

I do not know of a way to get the film back to the previous position.
I thought the proof in the name was related to the weatherproofing in comparison with earlier versions
That makes sense. I haven't thought of that.
Remember when you could find this in thrift stores for $5-$10 in the early 2ks?
Holy cow yes. You called it way back then and I didn't see it that these were going to blow up in popularity.
Can it take portra 400 film ?
Yes
