I have the lophantha "quadracolor" and yes they are beautiful! I have often warned people about americana and just how big they get! I've seen them in both California & Arizona growing in the ground and they get HUGE!!! I tell them to keep them in small pots to keep the size down, and just change the soil every couple of years. Too big for my greenhouse!! I like em small like quadracolor, parrasana and like the little one you showed 2nd. From Morris park in the Ozarks to have a great weekend!!! Peace,Love,Plants!!!✌🌵🌺🌴🌸🌿🌻
Thank you. You have to always keep your eyes with the big Agaves and make sure they stay in control. The smaller ones like lophanta quadricolor is always much more fun.
The only variegated Agave I ever grew was A.americana and it almost ate my front yard 20 years later. The others available that are collectors plants are not easy to find at nurseries even in California.
Yes you have to be careful with ''americana' as it very easily takes over. But I do love the small species as they are always much easier to care for. Some like guiengola are extremely fragile.
My agave is starting to show wrinkles on its leafs can someone help? Is it dying I recently planted it ab 5 days ago I love all your agave videos ur very knowledgeable
If you have planted them recently, it could be a reaction to being moved. If they are in hot sun, cover them with a shade cloth. It will take a few weeks to recover from moving. If it is caused by insect, use an insecticide to get rid of them.. Keep an eye out for young shoots to confirm that it is still growing.
Best.I have 3 variety.
Very nice to hear. They are lovely plants. 🌹👍👍
Thank you for sharing those beautiful variegated agaves
Glad you liked them.
Wow I am so impressed with all the agave species. Please advise how to forward some of them to Trinidad. Tks for sharing
Considering your customs aggressive attitude to posting plants, it would always be very difficult. Would be easier to bring one in.
