What bothers me about AS9 is that Angeria could've easily make it to the finale without having to do all that nonsense in the last episode 😭😭. If i was a drag race producer and i wanted to make angeria's win seem less frustrating i wouldve done this: -remove episode 11 completely and just have the talent show there. -keep Angeria in the top 2 for that episode but at least have Plastique/Jorgeous as the 2nd top. Give each queen in the top 1 star. -Introduce a twist where the winner of the lipsync wins an additional 2 stars (Angeria can easily beat Plastique, and Jorgeous with the right song). -episode 12 now becomes a classic rumix finale with the top 3 being Angeria with 6 badges, Roxxy with 5 badges, and either Jorgeous/Plastique with 5 badges. Since weve seen before Angie is rly good at this type of challenge, so in my mind she couldve easily been the best at the finale, making her eventual win seem less frustrating.

For me the biggest controversy in drag race history is when Marina Summers didn’t win UK vs the world season 2… I genuinely stopped watching the show from that point.
That was Denim babes. Venus did great in every challenge and was the best in the finale hands down. The finale song base they gave the queens was awful but Venus was the only one that saved it with her lyrics.
Angeria is so naturally kind and sweet, I think that’s the type of winner they wanted on a charity season. She MORE than deserved her win! I know Roxxy has come a long way but I remember her having some questionable moments on all stars 9 in terms of genuineness.
Agreed....and there are still plenty of us who do not care for Roxxy (speaking in terms of DR as I have no clue to who she is in real life), she has never been a likeable villain, just a villain. Undeniably talented and entertaining, just not crownable material. 😀
I never doubt Lawrence is going to win because she's definitely one of Ru's favs. I kinda like how it worked out because she's a better representation of DRUK than Bimini would. For Venus, I think native representation was important (DR Canada really has one of the most diverse cast of winners), plus Aurora will slay a versus the world series (I do think her charisma was not as strong as Venus and that was a determining factor)

i was pulling hard for aurora matrix when the canada 4 finale aired so i was one of the people that was underwhelmed with a venus win but OMG venus is actually SUCH a superstar. everything she's done since winning drag race has fully made me believe that she was the correct winner of that season idk shes just incredible
I know the lip-syncs were bad, but plastique at least earned her place in the top so her charity could get the donation that reflects her performance. Also, I would argue she should have won the Rusical and talent show. Angeria won by going back and forth on the stage doing nothing in particular and vanjie won with a lip-sync. Yes it was a good number from Angeria and yes Vanjie was fierce but like... really? Both deserved that top spot over plastique? I'm sure a lot of people were mad about Roxxxy, but i saw an equal amount of anger at the injustice done to plastique and her charity, especially given the history with Asian queens on drag race. I think she won her first lip-sync during the smackdown, and that could have been a redemption moment for her. We will never know how she would have done in the other lip-syncs. We will never know how she would have done in the finale lip-sync (WHICH WERE ALL TERRIBLE BTW). Not gonna lie, the fact it was for charity is was made it worse because the only Asian charity got the least amount of money despite 4 challenge wins, should have been 5-6.

@eurodara the queens can know the lip-syncs, and in the moment, they struggle. I thought she performed perfectly fine and knew the words to 4 out of 5. It's just in 4 of them (potentially 3) she was beat by a fantastic queen in that area. The entire competition shouldn't rest on the shoulders of how well a queen can lip-sync in the context of non-elim, and she IS a fierce lip-syncer. All of the queens are talented and have different strengths. She was phenomenal in every challenge except for snatch game, and every runway was one of if not the best every time. Why are other queens allowed to perform sub-par or terribly in other challenges/runways, but plastique has a bad lip sync so the only Asian charity deserves the least amount of money? Absolutely phenomenal in all the challenges. There's no reason she shouldn't have had 5 wins going into the talent show anyway and then had the most unique, entertaining, funny, exquisite talent performance. Channel also got shafted on that... Why should queens bother to learn new skills and think outside the box if Ru is just gonna ignore them and pick the girls that do standard lipsyncs, or substandard relative to the other girls in Angeria's case?

As someone who recently rewatched UK2, I gotta say there was not a single episode that Lawrence didn’t have a storyline, that season was the Lawrence show, but yes I do remember rooting for Bimini. It’s criminal that she hasn’t been back for Allstars.

I am so tired of the narrative that Angeria was favored all season long and that poor Roxxxy was mistreated. Like, Roxxxy only got to the final 3 because Nina’s dumbass gave her a bonus badge and Ru gave her a completely undeserved win in the makeover. Every Winners of CDR, feels very correct a 100%. Yes, on S4 I also loved Aurora Matrix but hey, if you know Canada, Priyanka and Icesis are from Toronto and Ottawa, Ontario, Giselle from Quebec and they needed a BC Queen to win coz Aurora is from Toronto, Ontario again. - just a thought :)
For me, Angeria was a front runner in her regular season, i was rooting for her. In all star season i knew she will do it far but it's true that was kneck to kneck with roxxxxy.
All Stars 9 was a charity season but don't be fooled. It was also a non elimination season and every queen was paid for each episode no matter how they were doing in the competition. They all made out well. The storyline also clearly pointed to Angeria winning and it was clear as day when Roxxxy pulled that Oh No bit with the scissors. Also, Roxxxy was there on a Rudemption storyline. She was getting it and that's as far as that was going to go. The only shocking eliminations in drag race history that annoyed me were the ones where the fan base complained about too many white winners and production felt they needed to even out color spectrum among winners by crowning Jaida and giving Monet a crown alongside Trinity.
I had high expectations for AS9, but the season wasn’t that great. Not having eliminations made it less exciting. It seems like production wanted to make sure all the queens were praised and had wins, which was nice, but boring.

Gut feeling - i feel like the show won't ever crown a Queen who was the season's villian/most hated Queen in a previous season. No matter how well their time on a returning season is and no matter how well their redemption goes over. So why the likes of Roxxxy, Eureka, Kandy, Ginger, Silky never won, despite doing exceptional well in one of their returns. Pretty certain Kween will now join this group, even if she returns and dominates In these scenarios, I don't count the likes of Ra'Jah as i think she was out too early in s11 to become the main villain (which was Silky) and heck, even Alaska, while being a part of Rolasktox, avoided the main villain storyline thanks to Roxxxy being given that roll.

I will live and die vor Angeria Paris van Michaels. No tea no shade but Roxxy was on Drag Race for the 3rd time, aaaand as a Lipsync Assasin, I've seen a lot of her and I didn't like most of what I saw of her played persona. Angeria on the other hand, funny, graceful, southern bell with humour, just the right amount of shady. I live for her, she embodies love and kindness while still being badass. Meanwhile production loves Roxxy soooo much that I started to hate it. And while Angeria won, she somehow managed to dodge seeming cocky or condescending, despite the favouring/meddeling of production. People are just mad their all time fave didn't win, no matter how much fame and fanfare she had.
I was super bummed for Ella. She was by far my favorite queen that season, and she’s still one of my top three favorites from all of the U.K. seasons. The slayed that competition until the finale (and I think she even killed the Hey Sis, It’s Christmas performance in finale) and the crown should have rightfully belonged to her, only to lose it all at the very end thanks to a tragically poor final runway and lip sync performance. We NEED her back on a Vs. the World (or a regular UK All-Stars if they ever do that, which they absolutely should).
It was so bizarre going from not liking Krystal at the start of the season to being on her team 100% Her winning was a pleasant surprise too cause I thought they completely wrote her off by episode 7&8 when she wasn't getting wins
Actually Pryianka was pretty controversial at the time in Canada. She had the worst track record and Rita was an already established legendary powerhouse name. I think what saved Pryianka is her charisma and the public opinion from the international viewers.
For me, I didn’t think that Krystal Versace would win UK 3 because, the prize was a show produced by WOW, and to me she didn’t show a side to her that would translate well into a show, with The Vivienne and Lawrence, I understand why they were chosen because they’re very funny, and a show for them would be easy to make.
the most controversial one thus far has not been included in the two videos made. no winner announcement has been panned more than uk vs tw2. they did some serious course correction at the final episode that didn't even make sense. it was so bad that there was severe backlash over it.
Lawrence was a perfect winner. Look at him today, he one of the most booked winners especially in Drag race shows usually as a host, and very interactive with the fans. As for bimini, never heard of him. 😅
4:52 my final top three made it so I was happy and didn’t care who won it’s a special charity season so when people get pissed off about how people are being unfairly judged and not getting to the crown, it makes no sense because it’s like it’s a charity season. Everyone’s a winner.
Krystal is a fave of mine. She really gagged me with her looks. I wish Charity was more appreciated and that Victoria never left. But they were the only ones with really great looks. I know there is more to drag than looks but that is my main thing 😅
The hate that Angeria got is still so baffling to me. People like to scream how it's rigged because she won the talent show undeservedly and how Roxxxy did way better, but then forget that Roxxxy also got a controversial win for the makeover and was literally gifted one of her stars. Angeria is such a talented queen who you can tell *genuinely* loves the show. I can't really think of any other US Rugirl who's watched every international season and regularly celebrates the queens outside of the US. It's genuinely sad that such a lovely queen is getting hate for literally no real reason. Feel free to disagree with the win, but don't discredit a very valid and skilled winner in the process.
I’m very happy Venus won, and I hope Aurora gets an All Stars win because she deserves it. Honestly, Venus ate that finale and performed the final lipsync (a personal favourite song of mine) just so incredibly well that I feel Aurora’s performance was just a little too off-base. It really disappoints me that people, even in these comments, are discrediting and disparaging Venus. It’s just stupidly toxic. Fucking get over it.

RuPaul didn’t need to prove that the UK Ambassador thing was a good choice as, overall, that was quite irrelevant. If it hadn’t been mentioned on the show, 99% of fans wouldn’t have ever known it happened. I think The Vivienne was just a more commercial, polished queen who would do big things as the winner of the franchise (which she did). Similarly to how Bebe was a better representative for the start of Drag Race as a whole, The Viv had the power to launch the show into the mainstream as a winner and she succeeded

On the subject of Global All Stars, i don't think its controversial because of who won, as Alyssa is one of the most beloved Ru girls, but because of the way the season played out. Most fans felt the favoritism carried Kween/Alyssa/Kitty through the season and all the other "non Ru girls", aka the other international queens, were paid dust. Thus, even if the last remaining non-Ru girl Nehellenia won at the end, a number of fans were gonna be upset, or at least unsurprised, at who won.
I will always stand by the fact that Ella lost due to that finale wig… it was so ugly that even I who was TeamElla at the time said “oh, no, please someone else”

Umm the reason why Angeria’s win was so controversial is because: - She received a couple of challenge and lipsync wins she did not deserve - She had one of the weakest finale “talents” and yet still won - She was obliterated by both Roxxxy and Vanjie in the finale lipsync I love Angeria but there’s no reason why she won.
She won because she was the most consistent player that season. She could've been in the top 2 for the Snatch Game and never bombed any challenge that season. Plus, she's beloved by nearly every queen from every franchise. Finales rarely matter and the talent show is skewed in nature. You don't have to agree with the win, but you won't disrespect her by saying she doesn't deserve it or you don't see it over someone that was handed stars twice

Bimini won three more challenges after the girl groups challenge, not two. Drag Race UK premiered in 2019, not 2018. UK Season 2 was the season that was interrupted by COVID, not Season 3.
I completely disagree with Viv or Krystal being controversial...Viv was the clear winner of the season from the first episode, and as other people said Krystal BODIED the finale...There will always be people who want the other person to win but I don't think that makes a winner controversial
What made Venus a more deserving winner at the end is the same reason why Giselle Lullaby deserves her win. While Giselle is a Quebecois and a Francophone, Venus is a Two-Spirited half-Indigenous Metis individual. Two-spirit is the umbrella term used by Indigenous population in the North American region that identified themselves to have both as a male and a female. As we know, queens who are part of the Indigenous population is quite underrepresented in Drag Race, hence having this representation going for her made her win more deserving than it did initially.

-episode 12 now becomes a classic rumix finale with the top 3 being Angeria with 6 badges, Roxxy with 5 badges, and either Jorgeous/Plastique with 5 badges.
Since weve seen before Angie is rly good at this type of challenge, so in my mind she couldve easily been the best at the finale, making her eventual win seem less frustrating.

Angeria is so naturally kind and sweet, I think that’s the type of winner they wanted on a charity season. She MORE than deserved her win! I know Roxxy has come a long way but I remember her having some questionable moments on all stars 9 in terms of genuineness.

I never doubt Lawrence is going to win because she's definitely one of Ru's favs. I kinda like how it worked out because she's a better representation of DRUK than Bimini would. For Venus, I think native representation was important (DR Canada really has one of the most diverse cast of winners), plus Aurora will slay a versus the world series (I do think her charisma was not as strong as Venus and that was a determining factor)
Bimini is also allegedly a problematic person to work with so Lawrence was a better ambassador for Drag Race UK.

i was pulling hard for aurora matrix when the canada 4 finale aired so i was one of the people that was underwhelmed with a venus win but OMG venus is actually SUCH a superstar. everything she's done since winning drag race has fully made me believe that she was the correct winner of that season idk shes just incredible
I know the lip-syncs were bad, but plastique at least earned her place in the top so her charity could get the donation that reflects her performance. Also, I would argue she should have won the Rusical and talent show. Angeria won by going back and forth on the stage doing nothing in particular and vanjie won with a lip-sync. Yes it was a good number from Angeria and yes Vanjie was fierce but like... really? Both deserved that top spot over plastique?
I'm sure a lot of people were mad about Roxxxy, but i saw an equal amount of anger at the injustice done to plastique and her charity, especially given the history with Asian queens on drag race. I think she won her first lip-sync during the smackdown, and that could have been a redemption moment for her. We will never know how she would have done in the other lip-syncs. We will never know how she would have done in the finale lip-sync (WHICH WERE ALL TERRIBLE BTW). Not gonna lie, the fact it was for charity is was made it worse because the only Asian charity got the least amount of money despite 4 challenge wins, should have been 5-6.

@eurodara the queens can know the lip-syncs, and in the moment, they struggle. I thought she performed perfectly fine and knew the words to 4 out of 5. It's just in 4 of them (potentially 3) she was beat by a fantastic queen in that area. The entire competition shouldn't rest on the shoulders of how well a queen can lip-sync in the context of non-elim, and she IS a fierce lip-syncer. All of the queens are talented and have different strengths. She was phenomenal in every challenge except for snatch game, and every runway was one of if not the best every time. Why are other queens allowed to perform sub-par or terribly in other challenges/runways, but plastique has a bad lip sync so the only Asian charity deserves the least amount of money? Absolutely phenomenal in all the challenges. There's no reason she shouldn't have had 5 wins going into the talent show anyway and then had the most unique, entertaining, funny, exquisite talent performance. Channel also got shafted on that... Why should queens bother to learn new skills and think outside the box if Ru is just gonna ignore them and pick the girls that do standard lipsyncs, or substandard relative to the other girls in Angeria's case?

For me, Angeria was a front runner in her regular season, i was rooting for her. In all star season i knew she will do it far but it's true that was kneck to kneck with roxxxxy.
All Stars 9 was a charity season but don't be fooled. It was also a non elimination season and every queen was paid for each episode no matter how they were doing in the competition. They all made out well. The storyline also clearly pointed to Angeria winning and it was clear as day when Roxxxy pulled that Oh No bit with the scissors. Also, Roxxxy was there on a Rudemption storyline. She was getting it and that's as far as that was going to go.
The only shocking eliminations in drag race history that annoyed me were the ones where the fan base complained about too many white winners and production felt they needed to even out color spectrum among winners by crowning Jaida and giving Monet a crown alongside Trinity.

I had high expectations for AS9, but the season wasn’t that great. Not having eliminations made it less exciting. It seems like production wanted to make sure all the queens were praised and had wins, which was nice, but boring.

Gut feeling - i feel like the show won't ever crown a Queen who was the season's villian/most hated Queen in a previous season. No matter how well their time on a returning season is and no matter how well their redemption goes over.
So why the likes of Roxxxy, Eureka, Kandy, Ginger, Silky never won, despite doing exceptional well in one of their returns. Pretty certain Kween will now join this group, even if she returns and dominates
In these scenarios, I don't count the likes of Ra'Jah as i think she was out too early in s11 to become the main villain (which was Silky) and heck, even Alaska, while being a part of Rolasktox, avoided the main villain storyline thanks to Roxxxy being given that roll.

also, given the fact that, unless you have never seen a single episode of Drag Race, you know that in some instances, it’s pretty clear that producers are the ones who determine who will win (RuPaul has said in multiple episodes and finales, with the cameras rolling that “…the final decision is mine to make”.)
and, it makes sense that the producers choose to bring someone who deserves Ru-demotion, but is not going to win the crown no matter how well they do in the eyes of the fandom.

No tea no shade but Roxxy was on Drag Race for the 3rd time, aaaand as a Lipsync Assasin, I've seen a lot of her and I didn't like most of what I saw of her played persona.
Angeria on the other hand, funny, graceful, southern bell with humour, just the right amount of shady.
I live for her, she embodies love and kindness while still being badass.
Meanwhile production loves Roxxy soooo much that I started to hate it.
And while Angeria won, she somehow managed to dodge seeming cocky or condescending, despite the favouring/meddeling of production.

I was super bummed for Ella. She was by far my favorite queen that season, and she’s still one of my top three favorites from all of the U.K. seasons. The slayed that competition until the finale (and I think she even killed the Hey Sis, It’s Christmas performance in finale) and the crown should have rightfully belonged to her, only to lose it all at the very end thanks to a tragically poor final runway and lip sync performance. We NEED her back on a Vs. the World (or a regular UK All-Stars if they ever do that, which they absolutely should).

Actually Pryianka was pretty controversial at the time in Canada. She had the worst track record and Rita was an already established legendary powerhouse name. I think what saved Pryianka is her charisma and the public opinion from the international viewers.
For me, I didn’t think that Krystal Versace would win UK 3 because, the prize was a show produced by WOW, and to me she didn’t show a side to her that would translate well into a show, with The Vivienne and Lawrence, I understand why they were chosen because they’re very funny, and a show for them would be easy to make.
The Vivienne's track record was way better than DDC... She deserved that win
the most controversial one thus far has not been included in the two videos made. no winner announcement has been panned more than uk vs tw2. they did some serious course correction at the final episode that didn't even make sense. it was so bad that there was severe backlash over it.

RuPaul didn’t need to prove that the UK Ambassador thing was a good choice as, overall, that was quite irrelevant. If it hadn’t been mentioned on the show, 99% of fans wouldn’t have ever known it happened. I think The Vivienne was just a more commercial, polished queen who would do big things as the winner of the franchise (which she did). Similarly to how Bebe was a better representative for the start of Drag Race as a whole, The Viv had the power to launch the show into the mainstream as a winner and she succeeded

On the subject of Global All Stars, i don't think its controversial because of who won, as Alyssa is one of the most beloved Ru girls, but because of the way the season played out. Most fans felt the favoritism carried Kween/Alyssa/Kitty through the season and all the other "non Ru girls", aka the other international queens, were paid dust. Thus, even if the last remaining non-Ru girl Nehellenia won at the end, a number of fans were gonna be upset, or at least unsurprised, at who won.
I will always stand by the fact that Ella lost due to that finale wig… it was so ugly that even I who was TeamElla at the time said “oh, no, please someone else”

Umm the reason why Angeria’s win was so controversial is because:
- She received a couple of challenge and lipsync wins she did not deserve
- She had one of the weakest finale “talents” and yet still won
- She was obliterated by both Roxxxy and Vanjie in the finale lipsync
I love Angeria but there’s no reason why she won.
She won because she was the most consistent player that season. She could've been in the top 2 for the Snatch Game and never bombed any challenge that season. Plus, she's beloved by nearly every queen from every franchise. Finales rarely matter and the talent show is skewed in nature. You don't have to agree with the win, but you won't disrespect her by saying she doesn't deserve it or you don't see it over someone that was handed stars twice

I completely disagree with Viv or Krystal being controversial...Viv was the clear winner of the season from the first episode, and as other people said Krystal BODIED the finale...There will always be people who want the other person to win but I don't think that makes a winner controversial
What made Venus a more deserving winner at the end is the same reason why Giselle Lullaby deserves her win. While Giselle is a Quebecois and a Francophone, Venus is a Two-Spirited half-Indigenous Metis individual. Two-spirit is the umbrella term used by Indigenous population in the North American region that identified themselves to have both as a male and a female. As we know, queens who are part of the Indigenous population is quite underrepresented in Drag Race, hence having this representation going for her made her win more deserving than it did initially.

Representation was fulfilled when they casted her. Anything beyond it's on them not on things they cannot control like their ethnicity.

Bimini won 4 not 3 , Divina an underdog? I dont think. U.K was not the first spinoff I believe it was Thailand .

Honestly no the reason why people were mad about anegrias win is because she got in the top 3 because of her talent show win but i have yet to meet anyone who says that angerias talent show was top 2 material.
So when it comes to someone winning a season thanks to a challenge win which was generally agreed upon that it was undeserved well it really takes away from her win. Cause without the talent show win she wouldnt have even been elegible for the top 3 win

Only the only win I can’t agree with is all stars Rocky should have won I’ve rewatched it multiple times and the win still doesn’t feel justified I was rooting other queens but Rocky track record was the best honestly it feels like a slap in the face still
