She came in, wanted some chicken strips, I put on gloves, grabbed the tongs and went to use those tongs to grab the chicken strips to place directly in the box. She literally started SCREAMING at me to wash my hands before putting on the gloves. I said “ok”, took them off, walked over to the sink all while she’s still screaming about me being “disrespectful” that I should say “yes ma’am, NOT ok. Kids these days are just heathens”. Being a people pleaser, I apologized. Something about that broke her. Started demanding to talk to my manager, who honestly was an absolute psychopath. Like certifiable. She ripped the card reader off the counter and threw it at one of my coworkers once. Back to the story… I just stood there for a second, realizing that I had enough. Karen still screaming she’s going to get me fired. I dial my bosses home number, on speaker. “What the hell are you calling me for?!” “I quit, and the woman whose fault that is would like to speak with you.” Took off my vest, dropped it in front of the woman and walked out, ex boss just blaring obscenities through the speakerphone. The look on that woman’s face. I will never forget. I hope she too remembers that time a 5’2 17 year old just wasn’t going to put up with her shit. I’m sorry for my coworker that had to handle the fall out, but I was at capacity.
I'd be like, (overdramatically) "Oh no! The person at the check-in counter forgot to dress code me when I checked in to this "not public because it's a payed-for membership gym"! We better go talk to them right away because this is bothering you so much, let's go!" smh

I had covid with double pneumonia last year next step I was going to be intubated. My nurse had been an ICU nurse for 30 years told me to walk a little bit every day, go outside for fresh air and sunshine every day for 20 mins at a time. These are things people in hospital can not do because they're quarantined. (I'm not trying to be bossy or preachy I promise! I just hate to know anyone suffering).
