- Our iPhone 12 camera comparison series continues with a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra versus iPhone 12 camera comparison. The smartphone cameras on these two devices are considered to be at the top of their game, but with the iPhone 12's cameras beat out the outstanding 108MP and 5X telephoto cameras found on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra?

I thought the note20 won 85% of the shots. Much more detail, but skin tones were a little off.
U can change the colors in every samsung.
@@Sushi_2297 not true. You can turn off beauty mode which causes the inaccurate color tones but it will continue to run in the camera app even if you turn it off. Basically it cannot be turned off.

@@Sushi_2297 i have a note20 ultra trust me I know what I'm talking about. Reviewers mention it all the time in there videos as well that beauty mode cannot be turned off with samsungs even if you disable it, it will still show.

Note 20 ultra has Snapdragon and Exynos variant. Snapdragon variant is superior in GPU and camera quality.
Note 20 Ultra won this, especially in night mode photography.
Ni it did not win in all situations there is no reson for samsung to win

apple has good camera software but mediocre camera hardware. apple is trying to be like pixel phone. push software and use mediocre camera hardware. it might work in some instances but would lose in most instances. this was an easy win for the galaxy. with the galaxy you also have pro mode where you can adjust it more and more. i like samsung for the fact that they try to give you as much as possible.
I use both platform but I must say the note 20 ultra is the winner here
Same here, pictures pop, colors are great, contrast is on point, unlike iphones, the contrast is way too low in most of the shots, especially while shooting into the sun, it's bad, i know that's smart hdr but it ruins the photos for me, and when it comes to video, great on both honestly, i love that the iphone shoots at 60 with all lenses, but just like what I think about photos, the video looks flat, contrast is too low.... The jitters while walking or running as well, Note all the way haha.
Not at all the iPhone looks so much more natural with better dynamic range and exposure to boot. Trust me I'm not happy about this I own the Note 20 Ultra 😔

I am really really liking Samsung's take on night mode! Just look at highlights, well maintained lighten up text, very low noise! Wow I do not know why people at dxo rated Note 20 ultra so low.... Although recent years they have clearly been wrong in judgements & scoring. Great vid Nick

@@fernandoz2023 See bud, the way iPhone handles highlights, the bright traces, & stability without any super steady mode at any resolution be4k or 1080 60 or 30 fps, the color reproduction unlike the highly saturated ones on Samy right now, a smooth transition between different focal lengths, not jittery like Samsung sometimes.
Samsung has one big upper hand for enthusiasts i.e. pro video. ☺️✌🏼 But in general, I find iPhone to be much reliable, your views might vary no prob

I might be biased because I've bought the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra very recently but Samsung's photo looked a bit better colorwise and in sharpness. especially in night shots.
It went back & forth for me, they're both really good. Just comes down to os preference really.

It was a toss up. The Iphone sometimes was better and sometimes Ultra was better.
i love the way samsung Correct and calm the lights of the lamps but all iphones shows Brightness and dots only , that why i always love samsungs cams in the lights situations , but i also love the smoothness how iphone switches between the wide and the ultra wide sensors or cameras !
You gotta give it to the Samsung, not by a landslide but yeah the note 20 ultra wins.

Both look good. Sometimes iPhone looks better, sometimes Samsung. Can't go wrong with either. Which is a good thing. It does look like Apple added more contrast to the images compared to the 11. Obviously Samsung wins when it comes to zoom. Also Samsung has less noise and more sharpness in the dark. Both neat phones in their own right.
Hmm on one you look like you have your normal skin color and the other gives you Trump orange look LOL. I'd go with ultra.

No one really used the variable aperture. I've has Samsung phones for years and I always left it at its lowest aperture at all times.
@@phandroid the variable aperture will help increase the depth of field created by the massive sensor to keep more of the subject in focus, like it's done in real cameras.
Why do you always just record at 30 fps when both phones support 60?

I used Galaxy Note 10 Plus then moved to Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. First I found out that Note 10 Plus is way better than Note 20 Ultra is Selfie camera. Same in this video Note 20 Ultra skin tone is so bad. White? Blue? Fade out? Skin color is way better in iPhone here and Note 10 Plus when I tested it. And for others also some area Note 10 Plus wins. Since I use a lot of selfie camera with my kids so I may return Note 20 Ultra. I just hate that washed out color

This comparison comes down to personal preference. There were instances when the iphone 12 won as well as the Samsung. However, the iphone did have the edge in video recording. Can a camera comparison be made between the s20 fe and s20? As well as the Google pixel 5 and s20 fe?

Color temperature setting of both camera a bit different. Iphone is warmer color whereby Samsung is kinda neutral or slightly cooler. Video wise Iphone is slightly better only especially in video stabilization but not far off. Photography wise Samsung is far better than iphone from my preference.
I'm gonna have to side with Samsung on this comparison. I also have to state that I use the Note 20 ultra, haha

If you're comparing the Note 20 Ultra, I think you should have compared the 12 pro or 12 pro max when it comes out. But this seems like a waste of a comparison when they're in different tiers in their respective 2020 lineups.

When taking selfie you can turn into warm don't use cool color tone if you think the warm selfie tone is more natural change that in the camera settings🙏
Absolutely that's what I do for my selfies,keep it on warm,and they come out looking good!

They both had great shots. Some shots better on the 20, or the 12 just depending. In the end it just comes down to the user's preference. Some iPhone users don't care, the galaxy phones can out weigh the iPhone by a huge land slide, even with them knowing and they'll still choose iPhone, what for I don't know. I guess because brand loyalty and they think androids are for "broke people" but in the end whether it's Galaxy, Android or iPhone the average user is using a smartphone for the same apps. Mainly UA-cam, Twitter and Instagram. Just go with what you personally feel is best and not because others are buying it.

As I would expect with a comparison between two phones that are in different price brackets. Moreso as the iPhone 12 has no zoom camera, let alone perioscope! The ultra-wide is not the best on the iPhone and needs improving, win for Note. The main cameras are similar, with pros and cons either way and subjective at times. The selfie cam was better on the iPhone. Easy win Note telephoto (obviously). The night mode was better on the iPhone but that was because it lit up more, highlights are amped up, so maybe subjective. The video is clearly better on the iPhone main camera. Video in front, both similar.
If money is no object then I would choose the Note, but if money was indeed no object, then I would wait and see how good the iPhone 12 Pro Max is! If money was a major factor then the Note would not be on my radar and the main Samsung choice would be the S20 FE or the S20? I think photography would be closer so tougher choice!
Does either phone have any sealing for rain/dust? I know some dslr cameras do have weather protection.
I think both are really good but I think the note 20 ultra edges it out
I think it will be much fair when iphone 12 pro max compared with note20 ultra.
Because the Pro Max has bigger camera sensor (which note20 already has), sensor stabilization.
Looking forward to that comparison.
@Issa Baddie it affects photography too. Bigger sensor means it will capture more light so night photography is lit. Sensor stabilization also helps when taking low light photo too.

Yeah but the all iphone 12 line up have the same primary camera the pro max just adds a larger sensor for lowlight so doubt the camera from the 12 pro max will be better only in lowlight so samsumg held there own they only need to work on skin tones from front and back camera once they improve there i think they'll have the best camera

In my opinion, I think that the iPhone 12 makes better photos and videos in most of the note 20 ultra, except for the zoom, even in some cases I like the iPhone 12 better. It's my opinion, right now I have a Note 20 ultra .

Personally I think the camera on the Note 20 Ultra is hit or miss. It seems to have trouble figuring out what to focus on which shouldn't be the case on a flagship phone in 2020.
