  • AWS App Runner private services can strengthen the security posture of applications and meet networking compliance needs by making AWS App Runner service privately accessible within an Amazon VPC. This feature is powered by an AWS PrivateLink interface VPC endpoint. Customers can specify from which Amazon VPC they want to allow access to their App Runner service, by passing an interface VPC Endpoint.
    This demo shows how to integrate Amazon API Gateway with your AWS App Runner private services, providing a secure and managed way to access your services from external sources.

    Really great video and I love the integration.
    Unfortunatly I keep getting an error: {Execution failed due to configuration error: There was an internal error while executing your request}
    I followed all the instructions very carefully. Is there anything you have to consider regarding permissions or other configurations that can throw this error?

      @user-op6dt3gh3i If you receive {"message": "Internal server error"}, navigate to NLB -> Security -> Turn off “Enforce inbound rules on PrivateLink traffic”.

      Disable Enforce inbound rules on AWS PrivateLink on NLB security settings. For me worked!

    Is it really necessary to put a NLB here, given that App Runner already has load balancing?

      @@awssupport I'm wondering the same thing. I'd like to point the VPC link to the load balancer ARN for my app runner instance but I'm unable to locate it. Do you have any guidance here?

      In the VPC Link for REST APIs there is only the Target NLB option, but what about creating a VPC Link for HTTP API and bind th VPC Link to the AppRunner VPC?
