79 had the Olds 403 bit of a pig 78 was the last year of the 402 pontiac motor mine would hold 6500 no prob stock love those old t/a's then they tried that turbo what a mistake. Nice car bro.
Yea its bleach, bleach just loosens/softens up the rubber so it gains a lot more traction. It's just an old trick people use. It heats up the tire since it gains so much more traction that smoke is the rubber burning off.
Was it shifting from 1st to second all those times ? And I couldn't just pick it right up in second gear it had to keep downshifting is that what I'm hearing? What motor is in it it is a dog lol no really is it a 301. Or something? No self respecting Pontiac 350 ,400 , or especially 455 would have any trouble taking those tires to tire hell and spinning them at 80 plus mph while sitting still used to do it often it shifted and it picked right back up again and w out bleach or whatever you were using for a traction delete lol I made many many long ass posi burnouts I mean long as shit talk about smoke people had to stop and wait they could not see what was in front of them lol tall skinny tires with a lot of meat left on them would do the best and every Friday I'd grab some from the boneyard for the weekend so I didn't ruin my good bf Goodrich radials lol
This was a moron move in ‘79, and it’s still a moron move n ‘21. If some people had taken the initiative to use a rubber just once the price of tires at Costco would be half of what they are.
