- be quiet! PURE BASE 500DX White Build With Thermal and Noise Benchmarks
We had the pleasure to do our own build in this white be quiet! Pure Base 500DX case. It was certainly a pleasure to work on it. The layout is carefully considered and planned out, and it feels like any new PC builder can easily do it. The best part is performance, it delivers on both - great thermals and also stays very quiet, true to the be quiet! name.

Great review. Very comprehensive, and I like your speaking style. Good graphics and not a lot of annoying music. Keep up the good work.
Hi Tom. thanks for watching and kind words! Glad you liked it.
@@A2KMedia I totally agree with Tom. You're speaking style makes the review much more understandable, especially for a French guy like me 😅
That's awesome!
@@A2KMediais the case big enough for a Dark rock Elite and rtx 4080 super or should i Go with 800fx?
Very professional video, for better airflow in this case, it turns out a positive setup is better so you could love the top fan to the front and keep the rear intake for better thermals.
Thanks! Will have to test that! Is there much expected difference?
Great review. I ordered the white one.
thanks! what are you pairing this with?
How it is?
Thank you for your very high quality build video!
Glad you like it!
Great review. I don't think I've seen a bad one for the case yet. Seems like a winner. Thanks.
thanks! It really is a great case!
Excellent review.
thanks!
This is a great review, thanks for the job you've done.
I bought this case trhee months ago and I am plenty satisfied. I added trhee corsair LL120 on the front and moved the pure wings on the top.
The airflow il great and the sound is really reasonable 🙂
thanks for watching! What are you running inside?
@@A2KMedia I bought the components in December 2019 which are :
An Asus TUF Z390 gaming plus motherboard with a I5 9600kf cooled by a Be quiet pure rock.
24 gb ram of Crucial Ballistix at 2666 mgtz (don't judge me I can explain 😅).
The graphic card is a msi 1660 TI.
For the storage I use A nvme 970 from Samsung (500 go)
All theses parts are powered by a Be quiet power supply of 500 watts 80 plus gold.
That's it 🙂
What do you think about my choices?
@@ryantusard0659 I assume its part gaming part productivity machine? Based on RAM that is. Also you will likely upgrade ram to 32gb when you save up? :) rest looks nice at a budget.
@@A2KMedia at the very beginning I had 8 gb of ram with two sticks of 4 each in order to get the dual channel. The i saved money to add two more but kits of 2x4 stick were unavailable... So I upgraded with 2x8 sticks 😅
It's a pc I use for gaming only, so no il will not get 32 gb, my 24 are overkilled enough I think 😏
@@ryantusard0659 ahh that makes sense then :)
That's a very creative thumbnail! Great vid aswell
I'm glad you like it
Keep it up👍
Thanks!
Thanks for this test !
you are welcome, thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review
I just stumbled onto your review and I'm glad that I did. You provided an excellent review here. I almost bought this case, but went with the larger Be Quiet 802. Be Quiet makes some nice cases.
thanks! 802 is also very nice! let us know how you get on with it
@@A2KMedia Yes so far the 802 is awesome. It is larger than I imagined, but I like having plenty of room to work in and room for future upgrades. The cooling is excellent with the mesh panels installed and all fan slots filled. The fans can run on low speed and still keep it very cool. I don't have super high end hardware in it, just an i7 with a Noctua U9S air cooler and a RTX 3060, but I will be looking at a new CPU and Motherboard upgrade within the year so it's nice to know that I can fit what I need in there. I like that I will be able to fit even the larger Noctua Air coolers in this case when the time comes. It's very solidly built and easy to remove the side panels and easy to build in. I kept everything in it just a nice black color with black cable extensions and it looks cool and elegant. I added some led lights, but just for solid colors and no rainbow RGB effects for me lol.
sounds like a dream to work in! :) I like the single color lights too!
How does he not have more followers
We are working on it 😉😀
Great video. Just bought this case along with with the new quiet dark rock 4 cooler since I want to have a more quiet pc. I also have a Ryzen 3600, MSI B450 Tomahawk Max MB and the nvidia 3060 ti so I believe it will be much more quiet than my old nvidia 1070, the ryzen 3600 wraith stealth stock cooler and the CoolerMaster Scout case with 5 120mm fan cases. I don't rebuild a pc for a long time now but your video has helped a bit. Wish me luck!
I can confirm that will be much more quiet as it is a great case for airflow and also you changing from stock cooler up to dark rock 4 is a big deal! :)
Should the fan in the front be enough for an RTX 4070 Ti?
to optimize cooliung in this case without adding an extra 140mm fan, you should move the top fan to the front, where you ahve 1 fan blowing air to the cpu, and the other fan blowing air to the gpu, with 1 exhaust fan at the back. best ''case'' scenario is buy an extra 140mm fan, and just add that to the front, so you have 2 intake and 2 exhaust (back and rear top) for best cooling
great tip!
I just got a white one. The front panel cables seems to include a 2-wire SATA power connector and a SATA data connector. What are they used for and does the SATA data connector connect to any motherboard SATA header? Thx
Hey Doug, the sata there is to provide power for the RGB controller. No need to plug it anywhere on the motherboard just connect to your power supply.
Hi! Many thanks for the thorough review! I was astonished and elated to see someone measure dB levels from both the front and the back.
May I ask this one thing, do you happen to remember what power supply you used for this system?
Glad it was helpful! the PSU was Corsair TX650M
Great review, thanks!
Do you think an Arctic Liquid Freezer ii 240 will fit (both top & front) with a card as long as the Strix?
I'd say yes as there is quite a bit of space there.
would it look good with an all white cpu cooler (air) ??
I think it would!
Do you need to add more fans to a case like this or are the 3 standard fans enough for good airflow?
3 fans are sufficient for great performance unless you are heavily overclocking.
I add three fans on the front but it's only because I wanted to have more rgb in my case 😅
@@ryantusard0659 nice!
Great review, may i please ask if this case can fit a 3 fan GPU (Gigabyte RTX2070 Super Gaming OC 8Gb & White) and a Deepcool Castle 240 ARGB V2 AIO Cooler ? thank you
Hey. Yeah you will have plenty of space. You can mount the cooler up top and move the top fan to the front
How did you get the case super quiet? I have the same case and it runs very loud.
Do you have just the stock fans?
Id just try it as is and see if you need more cooling. Then if you put in aio that gives few extras. Or just buy the same ones. They are quiet and pretty cheap
Tried to find the 500dx case in singapore, so far lazada 500dx case they dont sell (only the original 500 case) and amazon pricing is on the steep side, i guess have to wait till there more option to bring this lovely case into singapore soon >
Hey. I believe they are working on getting more stock in Singapore so just need to wait a little
@@A2KMedia Update: yup saw it sold on Sim lim square from at between $145-165, it is a worthy solid mid range case that along with lancool mesh 2 rgb, make it a solid case of at least in 2020
Not bad. They have it back in stock now
Someone please, how do you control the case's RGB??
hey, two ways. if you just power it then through the LED button on the front. if you have it wired into you motherboard then use the motherboard software to control it with the rest of your system.
@@A2KMedia Thanks for the quick reply! While I did not specified, I did mean by the second method. I know of the front LED button but the color choices are very limited! And I'm not sure if I even connected it to the MOBO when building it, I was following a tutorial on here and I guess they must've skipped that step. I will look into this for sure, thanks for the help!
@@andreshernandez194 no problem. I have it connected to ASUS board right now and it works really well
Queremos ver un gabinete, NO una cara
When I plug in a external hard drive to the front 3.0 usb connector, the hard drive don't get enough power. So a bad cable has been used. If I plug in a usb stick, it works. I have to plug in the hdd on the back of the motherboard. Shame Be Quiet!
oh no! what if you plug it at the back? does it work ok?
At the back it works yes. Where is the point to make the front ports only to work with phones and usb sticks? I don't get it.
@@8skyline7 its probably lacking the power, it may not be the cable but rather motherboard not allowing enough, but I am just speculating here.
@@A2KMedia motherboard is the Gigabyte B450 Elite. I hope I can solve this problem. I really want to know what is the problem.
@@8skyline7 reach out to both gigabyte and be quiet to ask, they should help with troubleshooting
Oh shit, I don't think 95 °C is within reason 😓
Hey. At full speed while really quiet on a 12 core processor? My fully custom water loop with this CPU reaches 85
where's the case? you keep talking.
We showed it in great detail, you just need to watch a bit longer than first few seconds
give me that processor
its a nice bit of kit!
Bro please do a giveaway for processor mainly, Be sure to give me 😆😆
will consider this for future videos, can't make any promises though.

I can see you hiding that weak chin with a beard dont front
haha!
such an helpful video. i love how it comes in white as my desk is white and one of the few budget cases that comes in white. also helpful with what fans fit on the front. also need a fairly small case but glad it can fit basically any components in.
thanks! It is a good looking well performing case that is for sure!
@@A2KMedia yep. So many praises and I just able to fit in my desk area. Hopefully in a next few months I can buy it 😃
Excellent review thanks so much
Do you believe this case is as good as nzxt 510i ?
thank you! Unfortunately not had the chance to work with 510i, but based on its spec and other reviews - 500DX will have better airflow.
Great Review. Have a few question:
1.) Would it be able to fit a RTX 3080? Non-founders are a tad on the longer side.
2.) For RTX 3080, what cooling setup would you recommend or simply stick to the 3 built in fans?
Thanks in advance.
hey, thanks!
1. yeah no problem as long as you don't put a thick radiator at the front.
2. I'd keep it as is as the coolers on the 3080s aren't bad. ASUS TUF 3080 is really nice and quiet! Check out our review on it
@@A2KMedia Splendid. Cheers!
@@SKOOTS93 you are welcome!
Will a Arctic es sports duo air cooler fit in this case?
From the specs it says: Max construction height of CPU cooler unit (mm) 190. The cooler you mentioned is: 124 x 157 x 103 mm so it looks like it will fit easily.
