As someone who frequently fishes London’s waters I love seeing one of my favourite UA-camrs come down and give it a go. Also love how you don’t edit out the struggle. Definitely try Walthamstow wetlands next time. Great vid
Congrats on finally catching in London buddy. I really enjoy your videos, way it's filmed and edited and just your honest uncut attitude towards how tough yet exciting fishing can be. Keep it up 👍
What a video, Tom! I've only watched these 2 videos of you - both in London. Can tell you're such a good lad with the way you taught and dealt with that sweet kid. Thanks for taking us along this journey. Love from Pakistan!
Thank you Rob!! I'm still learning, trying to make the focus more on what's happening rather than clever editing, but I think I'm hopefully finding a balance - and haha, thank you, I was made up!!!!
Amazing video as always! Just enjoy watching your adventures, cool places and epic filming so enjoy yourself and don’t stress about catching fish. All anglers know how difficult it can be 😊. Thanks for great content!
tom, i'm watching this on the banks of the maroochy river in queensland australia. i'm camping off my motorcycle and've caught a nice flathead (think australian sea pike predator fish!) and've saved this video for relaxing by the campfire after having just cooked an excellent steak over the coals. to say i'm a happy man and am really enjoying your video is a understatement 😉 you make a cracking film sir, keep them coming!
ooooh my days!!! Now THAT is living - I'm currently sat behind my desk feeling very jealous haha, my hat's off to you!! Hope the steak was as good as it sounds haha
Down at the river wandle where you went. Thats where i fish they have big carp, Trout and Chub. My mate has actually caught a Trout down there on a bit of spam. However they are very spookish as you saw but are very catchable.
Tom vs. London: The Rematch! This looked like a great trip and the joy was evident went you landed that pike :-) Another absolutely top quality video thank you!
Thanks Adam - It's a strange old river isn't it? I've heard it gets even more impressive the further into central you get, I really want to head back at some point!
Absolutely incredible video, just started lure fishing myself and this lure fishing adventure to different venues is more needed on your channel!!! Also what waterproof backpack was that on the river???
Cheers Connor :-) Lure fishing's a buzz, when it goes right at least! It's a Fortis rucksack, I think it's made for taking boilies to carp lakes but I really like it as a light fishing bag
Too true!!! I only realised that as I was running out of time that I should have just kept casting, I've still got so much to learn - epic to see them swimming around though!
I used to live burrells wharf few stops down the Isle of dogs right on the Thames. Used to be alright fishing at high tide. I never wanted to walk through the manky 90s River Thames bank. Though recently was working at Barnes Bridge train station and gontonthe River when I could. Much better these days now the Thames is cleaner. Never had the guts to fish down the canals.
Haha, they're in there!!! I definitely started getting some bites, but, sadly got moved on just as it was getting good..... It's annoying as it's somewhere I'd really love to catch from. Glad I'm not alone 😂
Cheers Ash, and I'll have to give it a look!! I'm desperately wanting to get to Norfolk this year for some pike fishing, maybe that's something to do en route!
Ely city centre has free fishing and we get people from all over Europe coming to fish for pike. It's worth a look mate. It's not my cup of tea but there are some lovely tench and Rudd about too.
I thoroughly enjyed that, and was chuffed to bits when you caught! I really like the raw, honest style of these recent videos, with the difficult bits left in, very relatable...
Thanks Kevin - I know a lot of people want to click on videos and have the thrill of immediate catches, but when it comes to my own fishing, it just isn't the case 😅 they'd be very short films with all the blanking cut out haha
Thanks mate :-) I couldn't believe it to be honest, and of course I only started catching after I chilled out and took the pressure off myself - always the way!
@ Absolutely mate, your perseverance paid off though. You said it yourself during the video Fishing and the adventure is always the best bit about it and should be the enjoyable part. I appreciate you feel the pressure to catch, however a strange bit of me likes it when you don’t (not in a mean way of course) It’s all about the effort for me and some times you catch and most the time you don’t haha! Cheers Tom, looking forward to the next one Dude 👍
haha don't worry I fully get what you mean! Fishing is fishing, you blank more times than you catch, and I enjoy being able to represent all of that :) Cheers brother :)
Nice video bro, greetings from Brazil. I'm watching your videos and it helps me a lot to learn the British accent. LOL I was in Scotland in August, but unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to fish there.
