Asia's Highest Shiv Tample Jatoli, Solan, Himachal
Jatoli gets its name from the long Jata (hair) that Lord Shiva has. Considered as Asia's highest Shiv temple. Jatoli Shiv Temple is one of the famous holy destinations of Solan which attract a large number of pilgrims. The Jatoli Tample is about 6 to 7 kms from Solan and its falls on Rajkot Road.
After Swami Krishnananda attained Samadhi, the temple management committee continued the construction of the temple. Recently, an 11-foot long golden urn has been placed in the temple. This has increased the height of the temple to about 122 feet. The committee claims that this is the tallest Shiva temple in North India . Soon, a Sphatik Shivalinga costing Rs 17 lakh will be installed and consecrated in the Shiva temple located in Jatoli.
