Welcome! These musical clips are from a large video collection that is now being converted from VHS/Beta to digital. There is some viewing quality loss from the original video source due to the age of the tapes, but the performances are preserved and still a joy to view. I'm finding many lost performances from vintage R&B, Soul, Pop, Broadway, Cabaret and other performances. This channel will be the Ed Sullivan channel for the digital generation, something for everyone to enjoy. I remembered " andy gibb"
The infamous 1986 live phone call from Joan to Victoria is now on youtube. Joan interviews Ken Kercheval on the show and starts slamming Vicki. She then calls her while Ken squirms in his seat and repeatedly saying he and Victoria get along and doesn't want to mess things up and have her get mad at him. Joan refuses to give up and keeps calling, even getting the operator to break in on Vicki's phone call. Joan then gives out Vicki's phone number live on the air where everybody hears it. Vicki later has to change her number after being called by freaks and sues Joan. Vicki wins the lawsuit.

That's hilarious I never heard of that story. As funny as Joan was and a trailblazer there are some things that weren't very good
well the lawsuit was dropped but allegedly settled out of court. VP couldnt say how much for but did say "Come see my Picasso".
I love Victoria Principal. She always seems so sweet and has a great sense of humor. ❤
She was totally opposite when she appeared on the game show "Family Feud" with the Dallas crew when Dallas was still on the air. She was very serious, stoic and appeared like she did not want to be there at all. She never laughed or even smiled during the entire episode while the rest of the Dallas crew were partying.

@@teresabenson6087 The part I left out was that particular episode was an early celebrity episode (first Dallas one) where Richard Dawson was kissing each of the women contestants on the lips and Pam seemed not comfortable as he moved down towards her. Pam's demeanor displayed that message to Richard very clearly and he did not lean over to her for a possible kiss.
Two of my favorites and yet ended up enemies.. I remember when Joan got Victoria’s co star on Dallas, Ken Kercheval, to call Victoria at her home on live late night tv in 1986. Joan kept calling and gave out VP’s home phone number on air. Lol I called the number and it was busy and the next day, it was disconnected 😂.

Joan had a mini-feud with Victoria dating back to Joan’s time as guest host on The Tonight Show. Joan was convinced that Victoria was lying about her age and wouldn't own up to it. On another show, Joan had on one of Principal’s Dallas co-stars and decided to give Principal a call on air. When she couldn’t connect, Joan spoke to an operator and gave out Principal’s unlisted home phone number live on air. Principal slapped Joan with a three million dollar lawsuit, which was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.

When asked in an interview about how much she received in the settlement from Joan in TV Guide, Victoria replied

When they both said they were not against plastic surgery I laughed my ass off. It sure showed that both women were not lying about that later on in life. Both were beautiful women back in the day and they didn’t need it what so ever!
It's actually quite sad because oftentimes, these celebrities undergo plastic surgery, and they just don't know when to stop.

What a foreboding omen about their conversation on plastic surgery. Guess they both weren't against it were they? I loved it when Joan guest hosted. I think she just started out on Friday nights and I believe eventually she started doing entire weeks

It had to be before Joan's show which she got in 1986. And had to be after 1982 or so I feel.
During the interview Joan Rivers mentions that Pricess Diana was 21. Diana was born in July 1961. So chances are this show was taped in the Fall of 1982 or sometime in the first half of 1983.

This is someone trying to say that because of the trouble an interviewer has the potential to cause it actually makes people sick with worry. It really does. It seems like a simple thing that for your fame you should be able to handle an interview but the trouble they could cause was considerable. These interviews would play on the minds of celebrity for the whole time they knew that they were up and coming because nobody wanted to taint the career of anyone or promote or raise standing of the wrong one or one's. Hollywood is manufactured and when the planning doesn't fall into place you wouldn't want to be the one getting blamed. To not uoset it's balance , bank included is almost impossible. So people come across as too polite or too fake and you don't get to see what they really think maybe people don't need to. Which is what was argued. But there's these things called interviews. Maybe they are just that intervals of decision and a precursor to what's next. Which is why they aren't liked by celebrity. It's not as simple as go on and look like a good person and not as free as go on and tell it like it is.

She claimed she was the first American baby born on Japanese soil after WW2. She was born five years after war ended...Joan called her out on it.

As the years have gone on, Victoria has seemingly retreated from the public eye, except for her social media posts, and yet on there she surprisingly speaks from the heart about Andy. While this was likely to have been filmed in the early stages of her relationship with Harry Glassman, it seems Victoria has changed her views on both men.
It seems to be, to me, that Joan looked like she was ready to press Victoria on Harry, but in this instance, chose to talk about Andy instead. Joan was a smart lady, and I think one of the few people prepared to call Victoria out....

yes she had body image issues her whole life and struggled with an eating disorder as well. The way she talked about herself, especially her younger self, was absolutely brutal- which is so sad because she really was a lovely and attractive lady. If you see photos of her when she was very young (a teenager, before weight loss or any cosmetic surgery) she was quite pretty anyways. I believe her mother was very harsh and critical of her looks and weight- she “joked” about if very often but if you take the laughs away it’s actually a very sad story.
