Hi guys, just take it slow with them. I had a feral kitten show up at my house. I just started feeding her and foot by foot (not inch by inch) she got more comfortable with me. I also have a yellow lab and she took to him before me. Years later and now she comes in the house when it gets too cold, but she prefers to be outside. She is the best hunter ever and sometimes I get the privilege of petting her.
Same here! I already had one housecat, and they got acquainted through my screen door. That helped her build confidence in him and me and eventually she came on inside.
My cat came from a feral colony. I brought her home and she was less than a year old. She’s now 18 . She hates being picked up or touching her belly, but she sits on our laps and is very affectionate. Good Luck with your new babies ❤
It will help the cats feel safe and for Bruno to understand he is to 'leave them', if he sees you inside the enclosure petting and talking to them.. they are rescues so will need some extra love to feel safe.. they look terrified for now but giving them somewhere they 'feel' they are able to hide inside their enclosure when scared will help too..
You guys are the best! One day at a time, they'll come around. They may never be cuddle cats, but they will learn to trust you slowly but surely. If anyone can build their trust, it's you guys! Hoping for the best! 🙂🙏
Guys, you do not have to explain yourselves. It’s your farm, your life, and your channel. It is obvious how much you love your animals and how careful you have been with the cats. I appreciate you all so much. Like you say, one day at a time.
I cannot believe someone would say anything negative about how you care for any animal here! Unbelievable! 😡You two are the most caring, kindest mommy and daddy to your animals! Tell them to go pound sand! I will tell them! 😂
Kyle, and Shannon, our tuxedo cat is not a friendly cat. She is 16 years old , we have had her 10 years, she doesn’t bite, but she doesn’t initiate contact and is not affectionate. We love her anyway.

I strongly suggest you don’t bring any cats out of their enclosure until the 2 weeks are up, unless they are in a carrier. You won’t believe how easy it can be for them to escape your arms. You want them to already feel this is their home, before that could happen.
With all of the other animals I might even extend the two weeks to three or four just to spend more time bonding and letting the dogs see that you love them and maybe even make introduction inside the enclosure and spend some time with at least Bruno maybe but I’m sure whatever you decide to do will come with Much thought and consideration for what is right for you Because you both are Awesome like That ❤😊
I strongly agree with elizabethcave7666. Kyle and Shannon the cats were too quickly introduced to Bruno fear, and no trusting relationship with you nor Shannon.
I have 12 cats in my house that are my personal littles. They were all feral. Approach them with a closed fist. Fingers out actually scare them. My biggest snuggles was such a feral kitten I had to wear welders glove to give.meds and feed her. Sometimes cats just want human touch on their terms. I also feed 14 cats in a colony at my house. Some will rub on me but will not let me touch them. Patience you have to pack and don't get discouraged. Good luck with those beautiful babies. Adopt don't shop!!
It takes time to tame feral cats. I once had two kittens that were barn cats and I tamed them to be inside kitties. Best two cats I ever had. Just keep doing what your doing and they will build up trust, they don't know how to do that yet.
That could work if they start out as kitties first. But an adult feral cat is pretty tough to tame. Just remember a house pet kitty will still catch mice
Bruno sounds like mine. We have about 5 feral cats and I have the cat haters association here(all 4 members). You're doing just fine. Slow and patient with low expectations of being able to touch them.
The Temptations cat treats are amazing to help with training cats. Our kitten that adopted us loves them and now she uses them to train us. She is so funny and we love her. She was a stray that was born down the hill from us but she made to our house and called it home. God bless you both with the training your new cats.
Meow and Kit are beautiful cats. They have a wonderful forever home. Those heated Cat Houses are great. You both take such good care and love all your animals. Meow and Kit will come around when they feel safe and acclimated to Doss Acres and to the both of you. Stay safe. Love and prayers to you both. ❤🐐🐕🐈⬛
That cat is smart! He knows not to run. That cat will FIGHT! If Bruno ever gets that cat cornered and the cat doesn't trust Bruno, he will be all 20 CLAWS in Bruno's face. He will do his best to take it his eyes first. That cat will not play if he feels threatened. I've owned cats all my life. They can be warm and cuddly, but don't underestimate them. I just want y'all to be fully informed. 😊❤
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻for Kit Kat and Meow they are so cute. ❤❤ I hope that when they stay safe. Which from watching your videos for a while I have a lot of faith that you will do the best for them.
Beautiful babies!!! If you want to protect your hands till they get to know you more and associate you with treats, get a foot long PVC pipe and when you go to see them slowly put the pipe in their home and slide the treats down the tube and and soon they will know you are friendly, but a least you can save your hands! Wising you the best!!
You should try the lickable treats. They may work better for you to make friends. Also, you have all the ingredients to make a play toy for them! A long stick, a 4' string, and feathers! Just take the string and tie one end to the stick, then put a knot on the other end, add the feathers like a tied fly. Then just flip it at them and get them to play!
Do not be timid. Please ensure you and Shannan are the only ones around; you work with one and Shannan with the other. Don't make quick moves, and let them make all the moves
Ferral cats are more wild then some people think. Give them time and love them every day. Once they get used to you, they won't tend to strike back. Because they are wild, they get scared and tend to act out. My grandparents lived on 40 acres. My grandmother fed 12 ferral cats every day, so because of that, she was the only one who could get close to them. She fed them cat food softened with warm milk for many years. They loved it, and they loved her.
Poor babies with all of the new sounds and Bruno’s welcome it’s so sad right now but Soon they will forget all about the transition and Only be Thankful for their new family ❤
Cat bites have terrible bacteria . Please wash well when you get bit or scratched and watch the wounds closely. Overnight they can become serious infections. I have not gotten serious infections, but our daughter has, it is an emergency once you see them infected.
So glad you are spoiling your new family members. They will come around you just need to give them time. Temptations work wonders. Love you Kit and Meow you will be loved by many.🦋🫶🙏🥰🇦🇺
Sorry to hear about your migraine Shanon 🙏🏼, glad you feel better now. I’m not a cat person either, but I will be loving to any I come in contact with. You two will win them over eventually, I have faith and sending lots of prayers. Bruno is so cute getting as close to Herc as he can through the gate. So glad they are pals. Love and prayers 😇💜
They're just new. If you feed them they'll be ok. Mine took months to touch but when it knew it would be fed it stuck around. Be patient. They'll love you after awhile. ❤
If people are criticizing you about the new cats, they obviously don’t know you at all. Yes, cats are up most of the night, and sleep most of the day. My kitty does not eat treats, she is an inside cat. My daughter’s kitty is an outside cat. He also doesn’t like cat treats. Right now there is a lot of things they have to get used to. They will be fine. Probably never a lap cat. You both are doing great!❤🙏
Would the cats feel more comfortable if the two crates faced each other so the cats could see each other? Wow, the heated houses are awesome. I’m more of a dog person also, but cats are ok too.
Once they taste those treats they will love them and look forward to them from you ! My cat is 10 yrs old and from day one he only. Loves me. He tolerate my husband but he don't care for him. But you guys will get there with them ! ❤❤😊
It took your dad awhile. It was not overnight or even a week. Yall are doing great. A bit later you might try putting them in with hay if it can be locked up at night. Soon maybe make the home in there after they learn where home is. Usually takes 2 weeks locked up but that is for normal I don't know for barn cats. You've got this‼️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏😉🐾🎅🤶🎄🦌😻😻
Hi there welcome to the cat world of everyone knows best. Do as you are they are now yours and have given them the best opportunity coming to live at yours. Dreamies are another good treat too. Have fun getting to know them. Take care God bless. 🙏💕
Y’all are the best stewards of God’s creatures. Heated cat houses, real cat food, and blankets. Most people don’t care enough to give barn cats names. I bet if you got one of those laser pointers or a mouse on a string, Kyle will have a new hobby. My Danes chase the laser pointers in the yard, it’s complete comedy. ❤❤
I did a search because of my sons cat. Scratch and bite. I had not been around her in years. I found out you start letting the cat get to know you with gloves on. Pet them a little especially when they don't want you to. Just a little bit. Now I can pet her again, but with respect. I read her signs and if she doesn't want me to I stop. Midnight and I love playing chase and hide and seek, She peeks around the corner and I yell BOO and she bounces and runs, so funny. Patience is KEY here.
If the skin was broken by cat bite you might need an antibiotic. At least that’s what I’m told by someone who grooms cats. I think y’all are doing well with them. Keep up the good work! Have a very blessed Christmas & New Year!❤
Kyle just call your MD tell them cat bite broke skin and you probably won’t have to be seen they might just prescribe antibiotics really don’t take chances with scratches or bites
You guys should pick them up a kitty tower kitty's love them iknow you want hunters but you still want them to have the best of both worlds you will love having cuddle kitties
Y’all just need to give them time, keep sitting with them and talking gently to them, one day they will understand and come closer to you for pets. One lady I know has a cat colony that she feeds and provides shelter and healthcare when she can catch them…but some of them have taken months or years to socialize, others less time.
I build cold weather houses for cats by putting a smaller plastic tub inside of something larger. Cutting a entry hole and packing between the two with straw or even shredded newspaper. The inside one I put clean straw or shavings and then fleece blankets or the same type material. Put the lids on using the same method and make sure you weight the top down. Cozy cats.
I’ve had cats and dogs for ages. I recommend keeping the cats contained for 6 - 8 weeks to give them time to get familiar with the other animals and new routines while still separated. Good luck.
When I adopted mine they told me rule of three. Three days before they would feel comfortable enough to come out at all, three weeks until they interacted; three months before he felt at home and we bonded. They were right. I came close to returning him after a month, he would accept petting on his terms but that is all, by three months he was sleeping with me and follows me everywhere. Feral cats take time. They don't understand what is going on or what we want of them. From birth they were on their own, then grabbed and stuffed in a facility, then taken to that ladies place with tons of other cats, now they are with you. It will take lots of patience. After a year I still cannot pick mine up (he is over 16lbs a 6yr old Maine Coon) he loves belly rubs, but wow, not a lap cat. He tells me when he wants snacks, and dinner and bed and belly rubs . Also, you gave them a safe spot(houses) then reach into it, they react in fear. People have not been equated with good things in their heads. Try to wait until they come out of the houses to interact if you can. If they consider the houses their safe spot and equate the run with food, they will stick around after they are released. Please give them lots of time.
Kyle Do Notice the claws and make a mental note.....Claws are sharp as Rasorblades . Just saying 😂😂. Don't give up but remember what kind of life they were living. It will be good in the end 👍. You both shepards of love and trust.🥰
And....not imposs to get bit. You get bit, you.l def need to make a trip to get some very strong antibiotics. I got bit at the vet clinic one day. Had to go to er, off work 10 days.
You are doing a great job! We've breed and raised persians and we've had some rescues along the way. Sometimes the rescues can take awhile to warm up to you. Just keep at it. They usually will become friendly. You have to realize they may have come from very difficult and scary to them pasts. Just keep doing what you are doing. We currently have a rescue (she's 10 years old, we got her at 6 month) that took half a year for her to warm up to us. But once she did, she is now the sweetest cat ever. Loves attention, loves to play, loves treats, and loves to be around us. I am so glad we were patient with her and just kept at it. We've had many wonderful years with her! And your cats may eat the treats after you are gone. And when they finally eat them, you will get them eventually hooked. Cats love the temptation treats. One other thing, cats can smell your fear and it just makes them more scared (if that makes sense). So do your best to not let them know you are timid around them. Anyway, you're doing great!
The kitties will get used to their surroundings and start to know you and trust you. Putting them in the enclosure is a great idea until they're comfortable. One of my cats gave me a love bite once and it wouldn't have left a mark if I hadn't pulled back my hand. Maybe try some Churu tubes, most cats love them. They'll calm down when they realize this is their life. Everyone will be cool before you know it. Good luck to you and God bless ❤
Kyle, if the bite swells, you to the er or clinic asap. My son got bit by his cat and it chipped the bone in his finger. The Dr put him in the hospital for 3 days on IV antibiotics. If the bite is deep, large or gaping you should go for emergency care. Cat bites get easily infected as we found out. Be aware and keep it clean and covered. Animal mouths contain a lot of bacteria which is why you want to wash it out with soap and water for around 5 minutes and apply Neosporin. ❤ Or go for emergency care depending on your wound.
Watch that bite and the scratches. Cats' mouths especially carry nasty bacteria. A friend of ours nearly died from 'cat scratch fever' from a small scratch from his pet cat. He was in the hospital on IV antibiotics and almost didn't make it. Before anybody says anything, I've had cats and have one now I dearly love. Just watch those bites...even the scratches.
Kyle, it will also help to put their crates up off the ground so they can feel safe as if hiding but can see out at the ground and what they dont want to be bothered by.
Slow and patience. Took me 9 months before I could touch my feral. They are scared in a new environment and may feel cornered. Just sitting with them quietly daily and don't force yourself on them. Just give it time . They are beautiful. Yes the cold does bother them just not right away.
Get yourself a an easy/ comfortable chair and just sit in the cat pen; maybe with a treat in your hand or leg. To make the time pass easier, take a book a d read. In fact, read out loud so they get used to your voices and people sounds.
Gary Walker adopted a male outside cat - he just showed up one day. Took time to be able to approach him- he left a food bowl outside for him - now the cat sleeps in the barn, comes and goes as he pleases. The Tom has an understanding with their original female cat :)
Get a few distractions especially toys with catnip. They will come around eventually. lol. I love everything you are doing on your property. Blessings always 🙏🏻💕🙏🏻🪹🐈🐈
My favorite couple. Anyone that thinks you would be mean to an animal has not watched your video’s. You both are terrific. Much love from Kentucky

Hi there welcome to the cat world of everyone knows best. Do as you are they are now yours and have given them the best opportunity coming to live at yours. Dreamies are another good treat too. Have fun getting to know them. Take care God bless. 🙏💕
Sorry, S hannon, having bad day, love to her! 😊
You two are the most caring, kindest mommy and daddy to your animals! Tell them to go pound sand! I have total faith in the two
Don't pay attention to the haters. You are doing great. Love watchin̈g you all. I stay up later. So I can watch.
It might take about a month to get them use to everything. It took my sons GF’s cats over a month to get use to moving from WVA
The kitties are so cute. Merry Christmas to you both and your animals❤❤❤
Def laser pointer. Its a blast😂
I was a groomer. Got bit bad givin a cra cra cat a bath. I was off work 10 days aft the er trip for very stron antibis
Cozy cats.
Hi guys been waiting all day so glad to see you
I’ve had cats and dogs for ages. I recommend keeping the cats contained for 6 - 8 weeks to give them time to get familiar with the other animals and new routines while still separated. Good luck.
Merry CHRISTmas and a Happy New Year! God bless you all and your animals and your birds!🥰❤️🤍💙🇺🇸🎄🎁🙏🙏🙏
He tells me when he wants snacks, and dinner and bed and belly rubs
Straw is better for bedding than blankets or towels and such. It is warmer.
They have heated houses!!!
Prayers and blessings to those new babies. Patience is the key. All the new smells and sounds has to be a terrifying experience. Love their houses. 💜🙏
Kyle holding the cats to introduce them is dangerous for you they will claw you bad when they are scared
And....not imposs to get bit. You get bit, you.l def need to make a trip to get some very strong antibiotics. I got bit at the vet clinic one day. Had to go to er, off work 10 days.
@suebee1436 yeah cat bites and scratches can get infected quick
A bite will actually dissolve the bone and tissue if you let it go if its bad.
Yea let us see it.
Hello Kyle and Shanon. Love watching your videos 🎉🎉❤
They will come around in time.❤
HI! You are like your DAD love your Cats and all the pets.
Bruno, Hurc, and the other guard/herd fur babies are amazing 🥰
Kyle, it will also help to put their crates up off the ground so they can feel safe as if hiding but can see out at the ground and what they dont want to be bothered by.
Kyle also please be careful with cat bites they usually require antibiotics for infections.
BEAUTIFUL CATS!!! NOW WE NEED 12 CHICKENS!! & THE GARDEN UPDATE. DID YOU PLANT A WINTER GARDEN??
Slow and patience. Took me 9 months before I could touch my feral. They are scared in a new environment and may feel cornered. Just sitting with them quietly daily and don't force yourself on them. Just give it time . They are beautiful. Yes the cold does bother them just not right away.
YOU CAN DO THIS❤
Get yourself a an easy/ comfortable chair and just sit in the cat pen; maybe with a treat in your hand or leg. To make the time pass easier, take a book a d read. In fact, read out loud so they get used to your voices and people sounds.
Lmao Bruno says ooh new play toys 😂😂😂
Cats will ignore your treats until you are gone. They are VERY patient.
Gary Walker adopted a male outside cat - he just showed up one day. Took time to be able to approach him- he left a food bowl outside for him - now the cat sleeps in the barn, comes and goes as he pleases. The Tom has an understanding with their original female cat :)
Yes it's Very Normal !!❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
S howing their comfort too !!
Get a few distractions especially toys with catnip. They will come around eventually. lol. I love everything you are doing on your property. Blessings always 🙏🏻💕🙏🏻🪹🐈🐈
Wow! Lucky cats! Beautiful houses! ❤ God bless. 🫶🏻
