There are a lot of great players in the world but I find the ones that impress me the most are the ones that don't use a pick. Eric Clapton pointed this out about Jeff Beck when he said, "with Jeff it's all in the fingers." No disrespect to those who use a pick, but when you actually touch the strings with your fingers you can really get a lot of different tones. Great Job Noe, Clark and Marcus, genuinely original stuff!
Thank you for having written this comment, Jim. I've been playing guitar since April 1995 myself, and I quit playing with a pick in September 1998. That was before I even knew Jeff Beck played with his own fingers, and he already had impacted and influenced me on a couple of levels. There is definitely a lot to be said for knowing how to play that way. When I started doing it myself, I realized not only that it was problematic to keep hold of the pick but also that it kind of ran interference between me and the strings. The most successful part of it for me is that many of the musicians I have tried to play with since nineteen ninety-eight fail to notice that I don't play with a pick. And, most of them have far better eyesight than me also cynical and you expect them to notice. It's possible to do.
we are all so different & I take great pride in that fact & so should you ! I listen to all kinds of music, why I have even listened to Carlos Guitarlos's music, LOL and this is very different & I can dig it Thanks
Music is truly the universal language. Thank you
Love the groove. The different tones of the Strat, LP, and bass all worked so well together. Great musicians! How can you not like this?
