Joan, I absolutely adore your accent. You are clear, concise, and are of collected thought. I'm glad you are in front of the camera now too. I seem to pay attention more to those outside of the "states". Nothing drives me away faster than, Um....Uh....and uh. A uniquely American lack of forethought. May I ask where you are from? So far my favorite Leather crafters are from, UK, Scotland, Romania, Korea, Ukraine, Russia......even if you can't understand the language leather crafters around the world are a sharing community.
I hope you enjoy the video, remember the first 1000 people to use the link will get a free trial of Skillshare Premium Membership: skl.sh/jhleather02211 I have really been enjoying the classes available and hope you do to 🙂
I really like how you added a notebook and videos as tools. They are often overlooked on these lists, but very important to capture the “ah-ha” moment or solve a problem.
I hate this fact, but... I'm very much into knives and sharpening. I have many knives and natural and synthetic whetstones. My best leathercraft knife is a damn rotary cutter. It's by far the best for long cuts. Like she was saying, it doesn't stretch out the leather. Also, just throwing this out there, I don't use a regular leather knife, but I use a Japanese Kiridashi. If you're never used one, check them out. They are my favorite skiving knife by far
great content, i have missed you ,it is nice to see you healthy and doing some work, please be careful with this covid and your pup grows more handsome. thanks for sharing
Thanks, that was a good list of modern day leather works tips. The door stops as weight excellent, I have a number of very old metal pattern weights. A tip for those looking for sharpener stones and diamond sharpeners, in Australia on eBay there are a lot of suppliers of Japanese whetstones and the diamond honeycomb pattern in ranges from 600 up to 8000. I guess eBay in most countries would also sell these items.
I don't understand nothing about what you say but I love your voice and I'm interesting about your work (I hope you understand me because i'm french speaking...), sorry for my english...
And I will add: When you use the notebook, make sure the notes you keep will be clear to you after a day, not just in the moment. I couldn't tell you how many times I had to go back and reference something and my paper was just a mad jumble of numbers.
Really great advice, I plan to use a few of these gems! It is always nice to visit with Skyler!! My cats are not the same, they are rather like grumpy overseers.
🤣🤣 oh dear! Skylar doesn't understand who I am talking to when I am filming videos like this so she has to investigate and I am a push over when it comes to anything she wants so I am like, Yes please come up here for snuggles I don't mind...
@@JHLeather just stumbled across your channel, ah very interesting thank you, I’ve just gone ahead and hit that subscription notification bell, love the extra super chilled out Pooch 👍😁 Cheers.
Hello Jo, The 6ft straight edge you show looks similar in profile to a 36in one I bought many years ago from a framing supplier, it also has a rubber insert for grip. The one you link to is a Maun one at AbbeyEngland. Have they discontinued the one you show? Thanks

Glad to hear that 🙂
Great Chanel!!
Greetings from Germany
Thank you very much 🙂
Thank's for tutorial 🙏 Best wishes to you !
Thank you 🙂
So appreciate your channel. As a beginner and a dog lover I plan on purchasing your templates. Love your unpretentious videos, thank you!
Glad you like them 🙂
OMG I'm subscribing just for the "puppy cuddles" recommendation!
Puppy cuddles = the best cuddles
Thanks for such a useful information 👍👌
Great as usual. Instead of card stock, if you have access to a jigsaw or fret saw try gluing wet and dry to MDF.
Great idea 👍
I love those door stops. Actually have them in several sizes. Won't break the bank either! Great video as always!
Yeah they are so handy!
Big congratulations on a very well deserved 50K Jo!!! Thanks for all of the great videos
Thanks so much 🙂
love you : good time and inspirations
Thank you 🙂
@@JHLeather you're welcome
Great video!
That safety ruler is something not a lot of crafters use (but should)!
It is such a handy ruler to use for cutting that's for sure 🙂
Thank you for the tips and tricks! :) Great video
Glad it was helpful 🙂

Checked out those pattern weights. Shipping to the US might sting.
You should be able to get something similar in the USA I would think
#10 is the best :)
hahaha, yes that is my favourite 🙂
I like What you doing 👍
Thank you 🙂

Your English is 100% better than my French! Hope my videos can help you in your leather work👍
Awesome video Jo always enjoy what you do. I think I will pick up a 72 inch ruler for my shop longest I have is 48 and it just misses the mark.
One of the best things I brought was that straight edge! So much easier to do straight edges with thats for sure!
And I will add: When you use the notebook, make sure the notes you keep will be clear to you after a day, not just in the moment. I couldn't tell you how many times I had to go back and reference something and my paper was just a mad jumble of numbers.

Oh I am not sure tbh, You can email them and ask if it is the one with the rubber insert underneath.
You have a nice dog. some kinds of Terrier I think.
Thank you 🙂 She is a springer x cocker spaniel
Something I found that helps just as well as puppy cuddles are cat cuddles. Highly recommended.
😼😼😼😼😼😼
It is important for people to realize that grease or water-soluble pens can't be removed well from veg-tan
Hey ! good videos, I also have a dog, a spaniel, only a Russian spaniel :)) yellow color
Thank you 🙂
10. Puppy Cuddles - you going to be hiring Skylar out 😁
hahahaha 😂😂
What breed of dog do you have?
Shes a springer x cocker spaniel 👍
My dog was on my lap being a pain in the butt while i was watching this video, we got to the end and he looked at me like "see ma! Im helping!" 🙄
😂😂😂
Dont worry, he's tiny... 90lbs. German shepherds are frequently advertised as lap dogs, right? 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂
You are so beautiful
Sorry, I almost agree with everything exposed.
Thank you very much, always.
