Tbh, jlo didn't start speaking it until she started blowing up (late 90s), when we were waiting for tonight and living la vida loca. She was blowing up as latin heritage/awareness/pride was blowing up. She was doing interviews on Spanish networks in English. But she may want to invest in Duolingo or something to help 🤷🏾♀️
I wish she just owned up to the fact that her Spanish sucks but that she’s still proud of her heritage. Not all of us who are born and raised in the US maintain fluency in our heritage languages. In some cases some children were never taught. Especially older generations to avoid discrimination in the US. That said, if she’s all about her heritage and wants to keep speaking Spanish, you’re right, she should put some effort to learn it

The point is she waves that being Latino flag around when she has made no efforts for cultural connection besides being born from a Puerto Rican mother, she knows nothing about Puerto Rico and she does not know how to speak spanish. Except Ben Affleck can actually speak Spanish 😂 He lived in Mexico as a kid. He says his Spanish is passive but he is definitely more fluent than JLo in interviews conducted in Spanish from what I have seen.
