When I was in Austria and Switzerland skiing years ago I think I was about 22 yrs old and didn't think about the gondolas I was taking at all. Now I think I would be like your Mom. What a beautiful area the scenery is breathtaking. The ice cave looked wonderful. Enjoy these trips with your mother, you never know what life has in store we have to enjoy our families while they are here. Thanks for showing us another gorgeous area in France.

Ha, I'm with your mom on gondolas! The ice cave looked absolutely amazing!! 😍😍 Never been inside one, such a treat! 😊 It is sad that glaciers are becoming rare, it is wonderful that you could see this so close. I definitely need to add the French alps to my future itinerary! Hmmm, maybe for the Tour someday? 😁

I skied Mont Blanc once. Taking the gondola up to the top, through the mountain, hiking across the ridge (with only a rope between each skier) and then the descent down the glacier, hoping to avoid any crevasses, it's a very interesting journey but oh so worth it. Anyone thinking of it, I'd highly suggest using a guide (might not be able to do it without).
These are bringing back some nice memories!

Thanks so much for these great videos Marie!! Someday skiing Chamonix is definitely on my bucket list - though I think you are right, climbing those 580 steps after a day of skiing must be exhausting but I'm sure well worth it! I noticed many of the skiers were still wearing their ski boots which certainly adds to the difficulty. Glad you & your Mom got to see such a beautiful place and "enjoyed" a gondola ride. I can imagine the views. The ice tunnel was pretty cool and Chamonix looks like a cool town nestled into those amazing Alps! I'm envious of your trip and thank you for getting me that much closer to seeing it! Looking forward to seeing your next adventure! 🐺 :0) ...oh and please stop throwing snowballs at your Mom! 🤣

The 580 steps reminds me of when I was in Hawai'i and climbed to the top of the Diamondhead Crater (yeah, odd that you climb up a crater, lol) Anyway, there are just 2 sets of steps (like 99 and 56,) but you climb and climb and climb up trails and it's a loooong way, and you do it all in the warmth of the island of O'ahu. It was more than 15 years ago, but I'm much thinner and in better shape now. I made the climb without drinking any water which was impressive considering I wasn't in the best shape, but it was all worth it once I reached the top. Thank you for sharing your experience!

This was definitely a great series, this last part was really breath taking! The cable car mountain side drop is INSANE, omg. What to say about the cave, IMPRESSIVE.
Last but not least, at 10:25 , brought back memories of my grandmother that had one of those house scenery thermometers :)
I really enjoyed these videos, and I really want to thank you for sharing these adventures with us. Great work as always, and getting better!
    Best of my wishes

Bonjour Haut du monpe a toi Marie 🏔️🚡🎿
Superfun Ride on the gondolas looking out, the awe and beauty just keeps on getting better the higher up you go, the bluey ice cave with it's carvings were so cool and impressive with a nice science factoid for all those children who are always asking why's the sky& water is so blue and did you feel like a snowy fairy queen for a moment while sitting in that icey chair. It was well worth the effort even though you both had to walk all those steps , your mom was a little flushed it's good thing she has you to spur her on.
Cute little gift shop with it's cuddling dog toys with their beer barrels , I wonder if those mountain rescue dogs are still being used , there's a funny scene with Stan laurel involving a st bernard you might want to watch, I wouldn't mind one of those 3-d pictures if I was there , I'm sure we could make one ourself if we put our mind to it, it's been another wonderful video , loved what sounded like a xylophone which was a nice touch, thanks again love to you both , I'll become a top Patreon for a year as soon as I can. Have a blessed Sunday. 🧡💐 😊

It is too bad that you weren't able to visit the Austrian side of the Alps, it would have been fun for you to visit where Home Free filmed their video of How Great Thou Art. So close but still so far away.
I do hope your mom is recovered from climbing all of those stairs, and I hope she had a good time traveling with you. I can't wait to meet the two of you here in America. ✌️😎

What a wonderful video Marie. Those were some spectacular views and that ice cave was awesome 🤗 I must commend you on your cinematography, it's outstanding especially the video of the train ride. I'm afraid though that the 580 steps would have been my downfall 😂 I love the mountains, I actually live in the mountains, and I would love to visit the French Alps someday and see the beautiful sites that you have shown us. Thanks so much for sharing. Tell your mom thanks too 👍Take care and stay safe 🥰

You were not kidding when you said you did your workout with those 580 steps both down and back - I would take forever to make it, lol! Everything was so unbelievably beautiful that you showed, and the mountains of the Alps are simply spectacular! I am not too sure about gondolas either, but I can do it if I have to :} . The town was pretty in the valley, and you know, you have great taste for delightful music you chose to play as you traveled up and down that mountain. The music and the scenery just made me happy 😊. What an unbelievable ice cave that is -- just amazing and gorgeous to see. It was a much larger cave than what Home Free used for their video "Do You Hear What I Hear" :}! It is amazing to realize that the ice first formed as snow 12 km away in 1786!! It did look like you and your mom had a good time here, thank you for sharing!

So many beautiful views. Did you take the Aiguille du Midi cable car for views of the Swiss, Italian, and French Alps with an uninterrupted view of Mont Blanc. I agree with your mother, it is a bit nerve-wracking to ride in a gondola held up by wire cables while dangling over a large drop. I do get nervous when I look into a crevasse that is a bit over a thousand feet. It was an interesting and fun video and I might visit if I have a charming tour guide. I enjoy seeing parts of France that don't get the attention that Paris gets. It might surprise some people to know there is more to France than just the Eiffel Tower.

I visited that place back in the late 90s and it looks like they've made several improvements! I'm glad you got a chance to go with your mom and see such an amazing place. I'm actually surprised you didn't mention the altitude and the thinner air up there. Of course, you're still young and it likely didn't affect you, but I'm sure your mom was feeling it. It's definitely a place younger people ought to experience. The inside of the cave looked different from when I was there. The lights used back then were the old kind that make a lot of heat. These days, they can use LED's for everything which are cool to the touch. The ice thrones were built there, but had a different design. The cool thing was that my fiance and I had our picture taken there by one of the mountaineer soldiers who was kind enough to help. Of course, this was back when we all still used film cameras. He joked that the ice we were sitting on was likely older than the United States. He was a really great guy. Thank you for sharing this video. It was great to see that place and how it's changed.

The Ice cave was very cool, and all of the high rock formation around the peaks were very appealing to the eye. I could see why your mom was not wanting to get on the cable car going down to the Ice cave, looks like it is a little scary!! The view was great no matter what direction your eye looked!!

Inside a glacier. I would like to do that, but the closest ice caves to me are probably in Alaska. I have seen videos about them and some them are quite dangerous to enter. I saw one video where they sent a drone down into a vertical ice cave. Coming back up those steps would be very hard for me though, put in an elevator or something.

As an old man who survived lung cancer in 2008 (and I live at sea level) it made me tired watching you kids walking DOWN those steps much less UP(at 6200 feet elevation) ......... just sayin'
