    Oh wow, I recognized Chris and played with him in Vegas at the Wynn/Encore Poker room a few weeks back. Was a fun table!

    I like how the gold picture frame matches the 1970s shiny gold wall paper. Nice hotel Econo lodge.

    Hey Matt, had the pleasure of sitting a few seats on your left at event 37 this year. It was fun watching you run over the table until Craig Varnell sat down and ya'll were in that big three way all in. New to the vlog but it looks like its chocked full of goodies.

      You're giving me flashbacks dude!! Jk haha. That was a really frustrating end to the day for me in that event but the chips couldn't have gone to anyone more deserving. Craig Varnell is a beast and a nice guy.
      Welcome to the vlog, and thanks for the comment!

      Matt Vaughan heck yea man! That was a big part of why I made the trip! Watch some great poker players go toe to toe and try and cash in my first event. I ended up playing my super nit game and finished 150th. And I definitely saw some amazing poker. I ended up getting felted thanks to Alex Foxen. He ended up having a killer year.

      Also, thank you for making it a fun game for a first time wsop player... even though I was a fish against a lot of you guys I'll keep coming back. Super fun.

      You too man!
      Remind me, were you at the cash game at Harrah's, or did we play the tournament together?

    I wonder how many tricks were turned in your EconoLodge bed. I had a feeling in the Q10 hand the guy was on a flush draw, but in a tournament it's a clear fold where you're behind every set, 2 pair and straight combos. Good luck next time.

      @MattVaughan  7 років тому

      I already said my reasoning on the hand in the video, but I discounted sets, two pair, and straights almost entirely based on him checking the flop in a spot that could easily be checked through on a super wet board. If he's the only guy in Atlantic City who will play it like that, I suppose he gets the money.
      Granted, he got the money anyway. 😂

    That's crazy I was down at borgata playing the almighty that same night and I saw that fog around harrahs and even took a pic at the time bc it looked so weird. Nice work on the videos btw!

    Obviously right call and for balance totally agree you have to stand up to that maniac eventually.. but it may have been early enough in tourney just to lay it down.. wait to have a monster and hope he does that again

    • @MattVaughan
      @MattVaughan  7 років тому +1

      Tricky spot. It feels "early" but keep in mind those 30 minute levels MOVE haha. It's tough to just wait around and sometimes monsters never come - but it sure woulda been nice to hold!!

    I think as one of the better players in the field u should FOLD the QTss. Felt like combo draw, but he coulda had AT or KT w/ a heart. Anyway, git'em next time there feller!

    Just remember smallish buy in tournaments brings all kinds of bad players to these things. Are you going to play in the WPT main next week at Maryland Live!! 3500 buy-in, I would highly recommend it. Best tournament I have played so far

    • @MattVaughan
      @MattVaughan  7 років тому +1

      Potentially. Undecided right now. I don't fire a lot of tournaments that large but I've heard great things, so maybe.

      I got in last year thru the 400 satellite they hold but because of my work/sleep schedule I tanked on day 2 with around 110k to start the day and 2 hours of sleep.... Hoping I can win another ticket this year as I can't afford a 3500. I will be there all week playing 1/3 and a tourney here n there. Cash game is pretty wild and active also especially near the end of the week.

    They don't fold at Borgata, I played the 2 Million Guarantee had 2 fish at my table calling every hand....and i mean EVERY hand including 2, 3 off and 6, 3 off....so i adjusted by making my raise sizes like 10x with my strong hands and limping everything else and would still get 2-3 callers everytime!!! It was very difficult to play and my hands could not hold up...I lost with KK to 10, 7 off. So many really terrible players at Borgata but you need to run good in order to win because they never fold and they all like to make crazy plays with bad draws.

    • @JedmcCj-uq5dw
      @JedmcCj-uq5dw 5 років тому

      Lol complaining that people never fold. Do you realize how stupid that sounds? Complaining people call 10x raise with 2 3 o absolutely hilarious I live for those type of players they are the EASIEST players to crush. You must be a FISH also.

  • @Ghost-_-732
    @Ghost-_-732 7 років тому

    And that q10 was so bad i could see mayb in a cash game but not a tour. Some players cant fold top pair dont mean no harm but that was pretty bad

    Love the blogs Matt but sorry can't help myself anymore, gotta know when you plan on getting rid of that goatee or whatever you want to call it, not a fan of it! Go full beard if you want the facial hair

    • @MattVaughan
      @MattVaughan  7 років тому

      Lol. If you must know, going full beard would be way too patchy. I'm probably keeping it for a while longer but likely not long-term haha.
