The small PARASITE that PROTECTED the largest planes of the U.S.

This particular aircraft is the McDonnell XF-85 Goblin and has been called the strangest aircraft ever built. At a time of an explosion in aeronautical research, the United States Army Air Forces approved the creation of what is known as a parasite fighter. This small aircraft was designed to eject from a Convair B-36 Peacemaker in order to combat interceptor attackers and protect its mother ship.
