You’re supposed to push the guide plate into the material. The saw cuts a lot faster and the material doesn’t shake around.

@@jamesbyrd3740I got mine on sale reven for 16$. Lol. Best back up saw ever. It actually takes abuse. My Milwaukee legit shook itself into pieces. I had it for 1 year and I was cutting out a window and the guard just fell off the cast broke in half. So I rolled with it and kept going as I was almost done 1 window left. I got to the next window and I was just going to town and blade broke. Out new blade on and then the whole mechanism slowly started bending and the handle then fell apart. My Chicago fell off a 20 foot roof I picked it up and finished up my cut. That was a year ago. I cut the cord and fixed and it keeps going. Sometimes harbor freight you get unicorns.

You know, I'm fairly certain Sawzalls, despite their name, are intended for sheet like materials such as plywood, planks, and some larger boards and drywall. Poorly braced and small items are not their specialty. It's why they have a "foot" similar to circular saws and jig saws for you to place on the object and put pressure towards what you're cutting. But I'm guilty of using similarly as well, but not fair for a test

    • @ShadowBroker50
