I am wondering if you are crafty Margaret. I found myself do less when the first Winter of my retirement started. I needed to keep busy and feel productive. I started making a dollhouse from a kit. By the time my first “Swish” was two I was ready to do the interior. She was verbal so we would talk about it. I papered the rooms and did the floors of the rooms. By the time she was three we had created a story of the people in her house. It was so much fun and three Winters had passed. I’m an Outdoor person so the rest of my time I’m in my garden. At four, the house went to her bedroom. Those talks and memories are precious. She’s 19 today. I’ve now built seven dollhouses and remodeled three for other people. All five of my grandchildren have a house with a story. The boys are fishing cabins and one tree fort. You will find your way Margaret. Life has a way of presenting those open and closed doors to us all.
I’ve always been crafty also and did more crafting while I was working than after I retired. I think when I retired I was tired of 38 years of working with nothing longer than a two week vacation every few years. I think one two week vacation was the longest vacation I ever had, I couldn’t afford any big long vacations so I tended to take long weekends or maybe a week. So when I retired I spent so much time just sitting on my butt watching TV and watching UA-cam, doing nothing was extremely relaxing. I was just burned out on working so long now I do crafts and still sit on my butt watching UA-cam.😂
Thank you so much for the tip to use Kenra Thickening Mousse 12. My thinning hair looked like a wig when I blew it out using this mousse. Making me very happy😊!
I started using the NAIR WAX STRIPS and they are great and so much easier than dealing with the messy wax. They are in a small box( looks like band aids) So so easy and do a great job! I admire you for the way you work so hard on the house.Amazing!! 👍🤗🤗
I felt that way about my first grandchild , my second, third, fourth and fifth. Little ones are amazing. You are lucky to be so close to her. Many of us don’t have that luxury. I understand your feeling of not being needed, however, don’t let it consume you.
Architect still hasn’t provided approved blueprint so builders are no longer available. Family is moving into existing house. Either Mike & Nikki put there bedroom in the basement or I go there until the addition is built. 🤷♀️
Try applying the wax thicker and one full swiping motion to one side and then the other. Don't connect in the middle. When it cools just a little so it doesn't stick to your finger, press it to help adhere a little more, you then should be able to hold you skin taunt and quickly remove the wax in one smooth motion and strip for each side. You may need a little oil to remove tiny residue sometimes left behind. If still have issues, try switching to the greenish blue wax beads.
You are absolutely right. I did it again the next day, remembering to apply the same way I would with regular wax. It worked 100 times better. Still think I am a cloth wax girl though.
Margaret I loveyou😂😃😄. I'm 73 and I use Veet wax straps for my lips. You keep rubbing it while its on your lip ,till it's warm and then RIPIT off. Work very well, for me. Love love love...
I understand the rabbitholes! But only way you should stay in the basement is if they can install a half bath. You are a valuable piece of real estate and in more ways than one! Remember even if it takes longer than anticipated, it will be built and Squish will be coming and going all hours to your new home. Do you have a nice porch or patio planned for your private space in your own pretty garden of your new space? Also a thought, friends kids stayed with them when their first baby was born. They bought a used RV, hooked it up to septic system, worked well for everyone. Sold it fairly quickly when they moved into their new home. Either way I think having you there with them will work just fine. Especially with all the building going on which will focus everyone. You are a blessing Margaret!
Ihave had a busy summer so far and I am catching up on your shows. You are adorable Margaret and I I dont like the hair on my upper lip either and I just use a razor no big deal! waxing is to painful. I love your videos and even at 62 I can relate…lol
A thought for you spending time with your granddaughter is on every Sunday morning is nursery Bible School at the church! I think you showed a beautiful church on one of your videos! You could take your granddaughter there and spend time with her at the church and that morning could free up time for your son and daughter in law! ( sorry not good at recalling names )! Just a thought! Take care!
I just shave my lip & face when the peach fuzz gets to be too much. I've done it for years, and no whiskers yet. I do me, you do you. Most basements are cool in the summer, warm in the winter, and don't vary much in degrees. It's a win-win. Have you thought about making some amigurumi? Giant ones! Stuffed animals for Squish! She'd love it. Just a thought. I'm a crocheter and I knit too, but knitting hurts my hands these days, so I prefer crochet. I got into making beanies. I have way too many in all colors and only one head. I need to make a large donation. I'm accumulating a large variety of different-sized pot holders/hot pads. I have too many afghans/blankets. I've got a few cat and frog amigurumi, but nothing very small. I've made a few tops, but prefer t-shirts and find crochet clothing uncomfortable (except hats) and even scarves are annoying. Maybe you should write a children's book! You might be wonderful at it and have a new career doing it! Just a thought. Have a lovely day, Margaret. I'm sure you will! 💕💕💕
Ok the “downstairs room”. If grown kids think it might be issue you using bathroom at night, there are portable toilets that do & don’t use water until half bath installed if that is plan. Sounds like you will have fridge so food/snack not an issue. The big box stores have utility sink with a cabinet that can be hooked up to existing water systems in basement so have ability to wash face, hands & dentures. Plus great for all the project brushes… I personally think good ideal, plus Switch can go to Oma’s place as a treat verses being part of house. Cause most parents don’t like children to have free access to basements until older so she won’t just wonder down. AKA mother in law suite. Just my opinion, which seems like everyone has one. 😂
I think children’s books are written to have the child use their imagination which is a part of learning and growing. Now that you know she understands things that you say you may have to be careful what you stay out loud. 😂 My thoughts, for what they’re worth, I wouldn’t worry so much about isolating when the kids move in with you. Has it ever crossed your mind that they may like your company? I’m not saying you should be under their wing or always in the same room but I think avoidance could be hurtful to them. Why is it that as we age we get lost our tresses but can grow hair in unwanted places with no problem? Looking forward to your next video. Sending hugs 💕 (Sharon)
Hair facial hair removal or glosetics hair removal device. On Amazon. Two seconds done. I broke out bad from the wax and hated the pain. Don't do it anymore
Oh Margaret, I'm so sorry you are feeling sad. Maybe plan on going on a trip for a few days until you can see your granddaughter again. Or, get with your sister and friends for a day trip. The week will be over before you know it.
Squish is amazingly smart! Not unexpectedly so considering how smart her Nana is! And you are braver than me because I can’t do lip wax. 🫣 Cream hair remover and tweezers are my choice. Please don’t remove yourself too much when they move back. I did that because I thought it would be best when I had to stay in the 3 season room of my daughter, sil and 2 year old granddaughter’s house for 6 months. It tore me and my granddaughter up!! The other 2 were fine with it but most important to me was how my granddaughter felt. 22 years later I still regret keeping myself so separate. 😢

That is such a wonderful way to incorporate children into projects. Don’t have any yet but might think on that
What a great story! You are incredible!

Love reading your posts! Thanks so much!
Those that crochet, children hospitals take small beanie for preemies.
Hospitals and perhaps assisted living may take in the afghans/ blankets!❤️🙂

We are building an addition for me, this is all very temporary.
@@MargaretbeingMargaretUnderstand your space delayed but seemed like the young ins didn’t want you downstairs due to getting up at night.
you are right.

I will look into this!
@@MargaretbeingMargaretI swear by threading. It's with thread which most folks have in their home and there's no hot wax issues.

Yes. I actually really don’t like painting AT ALL.
