What a great little bag! I'll have to have one shipped to my family in the states, they want $230 to ship it to ZL lol The joys of being a small country.
@@temporarilyoffline I'm hoping to get back "home" for a visit next year sometime, I'll pick it up then (along with a few radios that I can't get here) then, but that's great advice for rolling it up (also good confirmation it can be rolled up). 73s
Thanks!! This is great to see. I've been wanting to pick up the 2nd version of the 705 case, since I have a cage on my radio. I didn't know about the cable pass-throughs and the stand hack is sweet.
I did fly across country with my explorer bag with my FT-891, battery and antenna as a carry on bag on Southwest. I had no problems with TSA or the airline.
I've done a few flights with radio gear and I only had one problem where I packed so dense that they couldn't see everything. Just had to spread it out and it was golden.
I've looked at one of the Giga Parts backpacks for my new FT-710 but since I had a military style pack just lying around for the time being I've decided to use it, BUT Christmas is coming. 😁
Hi Steve, great video, had an audio lag here in Vk, but the delay did not effect your message. I like the bag(s) you demonstrated in the video. Have a great weekend, be safe. David
Hi Steve and Mrs, it looks like you both had a great time in Roswell. I have to say the town has really supported the the concept of, we’re not alone, to make it a fun place for families to visit and have fun. I think more cities should do more to support and promote their city, and even poke a little fun at them selves. I sometimes think we forgot how to have a laugh and some fun. Safe travels D
Watched the whole video wondering if I could make a patch to go on some velcro. Got to the end and there it is lol Let me know if you would like one with your call. I would be happy to send it.
@@temporarilyoffline I will! Been working on it for a bit. Hurricanes threw things off for a short time but it was todays project. I will email you tonight.
The Explorer bag is decent for moving your gear from the truck to the operating site, but it is absolutely AWFUL for hiking. There is no top strap adjustment and the waist belt doesn't distribute the load to your hips as it should nor is there enough space in the back to keep from getting really hot and sweaty. The bag just needs a big redesign to make it suitable for hiking. I doubt they'll make those changes because I would imagine most people don't hike for miles with their radio gear. I'll be giving my Explorer bag away when I eventually do a 2k sub giveaway. I do like the modular bags for radios and things. The bag just needs to be improved so it can be worn comfortably. Thanks for the video TO

Shipping is crazy, but it's due to the size. Have them deflate and roll it up as tight as they can and then gorilla tape the box!

@Dusty_Ham what state is "home" for you?
@@temporarilyoffline I grew up in Michigan about an hour from the county K8MRD lived in
@Dusty_Ham cool, I haven't been to Michigan yet.
Great video! I, too, have those bags and love them.
They are pretty sweet!

I have to admit, I didn't know about the cable pass through until it looked a little spicious in filming!

Tiz the season, nice looking bag 🛍️, tnx Man!
Ubet!
Will the Xeigu X6100 with rails fit in this 705 pouch? Are you going to do a video with everything in the Explorer bag? N5BSB 👍

I smell a gift coming up for you!
I wish they'd make a sleeve that was 710 specific, though. I'm pretty sure the 7300 or 991 sleeve could be adapted to it, but...
I don't see the link for the morale patches
I just added it to the description!
👉 Funny Moral Patches: geni.us/fWM3RJ
👉 Custom Callsign moral Patch: geni.us/oDrZ0AL
Another of the many ways to make an already big qrp radio even bigger.
If the radio wasn't so fragile...

@davidm.wilson3736 Thanks for the kind words! I completely agree
You think that laptop sleave would fit a 15" portable monitor? In case someone is running RPi
Yes it would!
Please stop! I feel the need to go shopping! 🤦🏻♂️ … don’t stop!!!!! 😁
It's an addiction brother! We meet at the candy store once a month, come join us.
