You're fortunate to have all those videos to enjoy. I miss my long lost fishing pals. Are you back on lockdown? You're looking like a silver haired Fabio!
Of course we are in lockdown, Henry. But with a bit of luck I might get some fishing on the 1st of March in my "house lake". All the best and take care.
Just a query regarding salmon licences. I get varying answers to this detending on who i ask. Im normally more into sea fishing rather than lakes or rivers but with 5km limit sea fishing out for me at the minute. I have a lake and river within my 5k in Mayo. Neither require a permit. I dont have any proper gear which is suitable for salmon and I dont even know if i will get into salmon fishing long term. But i have a very light 6 foot rod which my kids us with a light line. I would like to target a few brown trout rather than salmon. I dont even think the rod could land a salmon. As regards the licence if i am not targeting salmon and my gear is for small trout do i need a salmon licence just becuase there are salmon in the river. People have said to me the licence is only for when you want to keep a caught salmon/sea trout. If you are returning any salmon and have trout gear you dont need a licence ive being told. I cant find a definite anwser. The he said/ she said excuse not much use if inspected by a bailiff.
Thank you Dietrich, no tagging fish in those days. Great fishing.
It was like another world then, Desmond.
Love watching these living . memoirs.

To be on the safe side I would get a licence. Ring the IFI people in Ballina, the will definitely give you the right answer.
Can you catch fish that big today in that river.
Yes, you can.
No blue tag or brown or yellow pink or green the bloody good old days.
If an Taoiseach gets the invite and decides to leg it to the states for paddy's day, get down to kerry and do a video Vincent.😊
