If you’re leaking from a bag, you can tell. Flat spots can happen and get bad over a couple of days, but the odds of always stopping on the flat spot are pretty big. But you said it. You got comfortable not doing a thorough pretrip. It’s our job to make sure that all is legal with us and the truck before we drive away. Nobody to blame but yourself my friend.
reg reads either plate or paper,,, you didn't mention if there was a trailer registration paper for the trailer in a holder,, it is true you should have gone through you permits for the transportation of hazmat material ,, that usuals, coincide with the base plate ,, on the other side LandStar always notifies you of of a permit going out of date, it is your responsibility to have it in your permit book
The first thing that I learned when I came to the USA back in 1983 was: "C Y A"!!!!! Look at everything carefully and don't sing anything till you are sure that is correct.
Well you may be able to get the permit violation reversed. Good chance the company renewed their state hazmat permit and just put the wrong printout in your book. Whenever I catch an expired permit I call for the current to be emailed to me and they always have it. Virtual is allowed, I’ve used it before. Since you didn’t have it ready for the officer the violation may stand, but get the current from Landstar and the date renewed. Call the number on the inspection paper and let them know the permit was current you just didn’t have the correct printout and you can show proof. I’ve gotten a violation removed once by calling so it doesn’t hurt trying. Good luck to you and if you’re not sure voice the issue!
@@Midnight-Rider It sucks to learn that way, but now you know. Always check. They will always put ALL responsibility on you even though it’s impossible to know everything.
have a printer and laptop and ask the permit department to email the permit asap and print it and give the permit and license plate update to the officer. There is no reason that the bear would of left you with violation if you had a letter from permit department.
What do you mean it wasn't his fault. He is the captain of his ship, it's his responsibility to drive that truck. You are exactly why landstar is failing as a company. I left in January after 5 years.
Although it was his actually his fault - it was because of piss poor design and an idiot that was too fkn lazy to back into a spot making It impossible to get out of a tight situation - as for me being the reason landstar is failing,,, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard - you're grasping for straws just to be a keyboard warrior and think your almighty- if you left landstar, it's because ----YOU FAILED---- but it's easier to blame someone else than your own incompetence -- have a good day...
I know about the pin clicks --
Thank you for informing me.
Just some friendly advice. Stop clicking the pen!! the Mic Does pick it up.
Thank you !!!
I quit Hazmat.A lot of hassle.
Well you have to refuse the load unless the company can provide you with at least a fax piece of paper that shows a valid temporary plate.
I love a good BIC pen with a round tip and a solid clicker.
The driver is 100% responsible for the condition of your load and equipment, period. You should of never moved that load an inch.
Its your responsibility to check those permits ESPECIALLY HAULING HAZ MAT
Was with Landstar for 17 years, and it seems like DOT is after Landstar. But not Landstar fault 😮
Stop clicking your pen! Thank you.
Keep it pushing 💪 we all together we all have good and bad days 🙏
I have been with landstar since May and I'm done this week
Sorry to hear that - best of luck.
Hazmat loads do not pay enough . I stay away from them . Not worth it .
They pay better than most regular freight -- some do anyway

He never checked the trailer registration- didn't even ask
South Carolina really is the California of the East Coast when it comes to Dot inspections.
I check my permit book these companies don't care

For 35 percent, seems to me somewhere along the way the ball was dropped.
Get out and look 👀 always helps..

I called the permit dept - she knew they were expiring, she thought she put updated permits in every book.... looks like she forgot one....

Dont let them send you to the fed ex at Mercedes tx. You will be expected to use your 2 hrs p.c
I l know why the phone keeps ringing, landstar dispatch does way to much calling they are stupid
Landstar requires owner a DOT every 120 and 60 percent of the time we get pull over is because of the trailer but it's always the drivers fault.
You said south carolina and he asked you for Illinois??..
Truck is registered in Illinois- hazmat permit must be in Illinois also
Hey man what are ya in for? It wasn't my fault.
