Key quotes from today’s meditation are below:
Preoccupation with the defense of our rights continually distracts us from our ideal of union with God, deprives us of interior peace, and finally, involves us in so many worldly cares that it will often be an occassion of failing in charity and even in justice toward our neighbor. For it is very difficult, if not impossible, to keep up the defense of our own rights without more or less injuring the rights of others.
To find out if we are really detached from sensitiveness about honor, we should not rely on the desires which some- times come to us during prayer and make us think that we are ready to bear any kind of humiliation or scorn. Instead we must find out what our attitude is at the critical moment when something wounds our pride. Then it will be easy to see that “ we refuse to be thwarted over the very smallest matter of precedence: apparently such a thing is quite intolerable”
St. Teresa of Jesus declares, “ However slight may be our concern for our reputation,” if we “ wish to make progress in spiritual matters, ” we must “ put this attachment right behind us,” for “if questions of honor” prevail, we “will never make great progress or come to enjoy the real fruit of prayer,” which is intimacy with God.

Great teaching Janelle & Ken. To God be the glory!✝ Striving to always have our rights met (whichever rights we feel we deserve), only steals our joy and peace. Learning to be content in every situation is best way to go! Phil.4:12

Thank you Ken and Janelle. Very important message especially nowadays there is an obsession with rights to the extent of now people even wanting the right to die, and some thinking people deserve the right to die. It gets very twisted. It's a huge problem when we end up fixated on rights and fixing past wrongs (fairness). Only God can fix things and give us what we deserve. Thank you for this episode God bless you and have a blessed weekend.

At Sunday Mass, our deacon mentioned that at ball games in America, you used to see people in the stands holding signs that read "John 3:16" but when was the last time we saw this sign at a game? Years! The camera men have been advised not to focus their cameras on these signs anymore, so it's been years since we have seen this scripture sign at one of our games. We are a sick country and it sounds like Canada is too! SO sad to see the evil all around us! Lord, hear our prayers! Thanks for your videos and keep spreading His word. 🙏

Funny I could hear my Dad telling me life wasn’t fair and I am sure I have told my children the same. Humility is hard in this world and not taught much these days

Also, what you said about the place where we should speak, that thing really bothers me! I just cannot reconcile that hidden life in humility and silence and "dinamis" evangelisation, and speaking out and fighting for the justice in our midst. I know that Jesus did it both, but I just cannot figure out how to put that in practice. I guess I need to spend the time in silence and prayer first, and then I will know when to step up and speak, and when to stay put... Thank you for this video and also for all the videos this week about hidden life. Really needed this! God bless your family and ministry!

I work with many children and it’s a common occurrence that children do not say thank you for anything. I have to suggest it to them. They will say thing a like “get me a snack”. Is it wrong of me to expect to hear a thank you for giving a gift or getting a snack for the kids? They’re not my children. I feel weird having to teach them this but I also feel called to at the same time because obviously they’re not being taught at home.

I have my phone alarm set to go off at 12:00 for the Angeles everyday and usually when I'm out with family especially and I hear it go off I typically just dismiss it and then don't do anything cuz I find it awkward at times to just stop and go say it.... Any advice or encouragement should I go off somewhere and do it or should I ask if people want to join? I usually dismiss it only when I'm with people that I know won't say it with me.

IS IT GOOD TO JUST SAY "LETS JUST AGREE TO DISAGREE"?

  • @kathywiens9852
    @kathywiens9852 3 місяці тому +1

Getting what we deserve. We should be glad we don't get what we deserve at many times in our life's. As long as we live in this world we will have trouble.
I think I have more trouble when I think someone else being "mistreated". 🫤
I want to defend and rescue. Am i to discern if i should stay back because God may be allowing it for their good? 🤔
Maybe the discernment goes to the place of justice. Is it just they are being treated this or that way? I'm reminded of a phrase there's a time and a place for everything under the sun.
I think I need to listen again.
Thanks for all you do for us. May your family have a blessed weekend. 🙏💝

I listened again. I think the extrinsic glory of God that comes from us is for sure what we should keep in mind. I've been working on forning the habit that when someone thanks me for something I say, All praise and glory to God.
Ever heard there's strength in numbers? Janelle was right that when we are in groups of like minded people we're going to be strong. There are and will be times we won't have our groups. We must build our strength daily by prayer devotions, Mass as much as possible, learning of the lives c of the Saints, and other spiritual practices that feed our souls. When the time comes to stand up for the Faith all we'll need is knowing is God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Saints, and angels are with us.
You always share so much soul feeding material by word and example. ❤
