so for the steak since you like med well , you wanna do like 4 minutes on each side on high heat with alot of butter (internal temp should be about 140) & make sure you get the sides , hope that helped 😊
That steak is actually cooked perfectly. Like many people have said 4-5 minutes on each side will get you what you are after. I love to cook steak by massaging it with cumin and olive oil, then grilling it- the flavor is amazing. Little Coast is such a cutie!
I love these vlogs and i think its so cool if you end up doing them for a long time cause you and Ayla will be able to look back and watch Coast as he changes and grows!! It happens so fast that you dont notice it in the moment!! He is getting so big!!
Purchase a meat thermometer to ensure your steak is cooked to perfection, and then sear each side of the steak for about 3-4 minutes or until it reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Add a generous dollop of butter when it's almost done cooking for that extra delicious flavor 😋! By the way, I couldn't help but notice how adorable Coast was with his cute little hiccups and aggressive lip-licking at 5:30 when you were holding the UNOPENED chocolate 🤣🤣. How precious!
It’s making me tear up thinking about how we are going to watch Coast grow up. I can’t thank you enough for naming him “Coast Corey” but it just… wow Kian. No words but thank you. Coast is such a precious, sweet, and cute little boy. I’m so happy to see how much you and Ayla care about him. It makes me actually sob thinking about how amazing parents you two are. Love you both… so much. Thank you two for everything you do.
Recently had my baby boy January 30th so I love watching these vlogs. Just being able to relate to some of what you both are going through and becoming first time parents is amazing. But also seeing coasty woasty is really nice🥰 he’s so freaking cuteeee
Kian I love these vlogs. I’ve said it a million times by now, but it is A++ content. I live for your uploads and when it comes out, I drop everything to watch it. You’re doing great!
Coasty is growing up so fast. Love to see him hold his neck seems so much easier to hold him now. Soon he’ll be the one talking in the vlogs! My arms be tired and baby is 11 pounds he’s just 2 months. So I can’t imagine your baby he’s 4 months.
i went to culinary school and have worked in restaurants before, a great option to make sure you’re cooking it through to your liking is a meat thermometer. for medium well steak the temp should be 150°F-155°F. i usually marinate my steak with worcestershire, oil, rosemary, garlic & onion powder, and salt & pepper :)
Congratulation! Happy for you. My baby was born January 4th ! It is nice to see Kian be a dad! It’s nice to be able to watch his videos because I used to watch them from O2L so(-: it’s amazing we’re all growing I think it’s cool how life aligned and we all having kids
Adding onto the previous advice, you could just sear the steak & then bake it (in the same pan - with no plastic or rubber, preferably cast iron) until the internal temp is to your med/well liking! Also consider adding garlic & herbs to the butter
I’m the same way, I always move food onto a plate, out of the takeout or microwave container. I even put chips & chocolate on a plate, it just feels nicer 🤷🏽♀️😊.
some tips: •start cooking the steak in high heat oil (olive oil, avocado oil) so the butter doesn’t burn •don’t cover the steak!! yes it seals the moisture but it adds water to the pan & ruins the sear •for medium well, i would do 5 minutes each side on high heat. then add your butter & baste it for another 2-3 minutes on each side! •salt & pepper is perfectly fine for the steak, that’s all i use! you can add more flavor in the basting of it! (thyme, rosemary, garlic)
everything you did for the steak was perfect, except when you were flipping it back and forth lol try to just flip it once, or minimally if possible. also it helps to let it rest after cooking for 5-10 minutes before cutting into ◡̈ trial and error! you got this
Am I the only one that wonders why Kian and Ayla hardly eat together? 🤔 also, that’s a good steak. If you like it more done just leave it longer and only flip once.
Some chef tips: makesure meat is room temp, first before butter you want to cook all sides for alittle first and then when all sides have been browned add butter to baste it❤
For the steak get a cast iron skillet put just enough olive on the bottom of the pan wait until it is smoking then season your steak with what ever (make sure to pad dry first) throw it in the pan cook for 4 minutes each side then turn off heat throw a half stick of butter, garlic, rosemary, and just start throwing that butter on there then let it sit for about 5 to 10 and boom you have a perfect steak
I'm no chef either Kian but a good way to test for rawness is if you touch it and feels like the bottom of your nose it's "raw" or it feels like your chin it "medium rare" and if it feels like your forehead it's "well done" but you may of done it right but I've seen chefs put them in the oven in a cast iron skillet to get inside more cooked. i hope this helped but what do i know i never cooked a steak in my life haha.
You have to let it stay in the pan for a good minute have the butter on the pan after the pan is really hot then let it sit well for about 4-6 minutes each side if you want it cooked well I’m talking all sides and then sear it at the end but cut the middle and open it to see if it’s still cooked inside
That steak was cooked perfectly for someone who likes Medium Rare but you just to cook a min or two more for what your after. Also cook on high heat and let the butter/oil heat up the pan for a couple minutes before putting the steak on
Lol steak recipe.. pan on high. Let the pan get HOT Add oil AND butter Season steak with salt and pepper and whatever u want on both sides. (If you choose to only do salt and pepper you need to make a crust like a layer of salt and pepper on the steak) Put the steak on the pan 4mins one side and 4 mins on the other. Take it off the pan and LET IT REST for 3 mins minimum!!!! Now cut and eat. I like my steak a tiny bit pink so I do 5 mins each side depending on how thick it is
😢Please don’t tell me you threw away the steak Kian!!!!!!!!! It literally just needed to go back in the pan for like 3-5 more mins! It was Rare and some people like it like that. As for your preference, it just needed to cook it a little longer to get it medium-well or well-done. Buttttttt….. YOU DID IT 100% perfectly with the Montreal steak seasoning and the butter with the spoon pouring it back into it, that was how you do it! You should give it another attempt and try some mashed potatoes and a veggie! That’s a bomb homemade dinner
Okay Kian, now we need a video of you actually cooking a steak correctly 🤣 High heat - cook for 4 minutes on each side . Lots of butter and basting . Do not flip over and over. Cook one side for 4 .. flip and then cook for another 4 minutes . Once cooked , take off heat and LET REST off the heat for 5 minutes .
Use a cooking thermometer on the steak, we use one and like it when it's medium rare, we put onion, garlic powder, black pepper and Italian flakes and of course butter it up.
For a second there it sounded like Andy’s voice was used for a voiceover at 6:35. K still could be wrong because I know I’ve heard Kian say it in another vlog… but I swear it sounded like Andy this time haha!!
Coasts hiccups are the cutest thing everrrr ❤❤
so for the steak since you like med well , you wanna do like 4 minutes on each side on high heat with alot of butter (internal temp should be about 140) & make sure you get the sides , hope that helped 😊
Yes!! 4 minutes on each side works everytime!
and let it rest before slicing it
Yes and make sure you get the steak to room temp too, cooking it cold straight out the fridge will affect the temp as well
That steak is actually cooked perfectly. Like many people have said 4-5 minutes on each side will get you what you are after. I love to cook steak by massaging it with cumin and olive oil, then grilling it- the flavor is amazing. Little Coast is such a cutie!
W cumin👀

Higher heat flip one time and for like 3-5 minutes on each side :) then baste in butter/herbs
Am I the only one that wonders why Kian and Ayla hardly eat together? 🤔 also, that’s a good steak. If you like it more done just leave it longer and only flip once.
I was looking for someone else who thought the same. I keep wondering why also
Minding the wrong business

The steak would’ve been perfect for me but this video really just reminded me how funny Kian really can be 😂😂😂

That steak looks PERFECT
can’t believe you did a whole month! let’s make it a year ❤
Also in stead of cooking it on the stove top you can press the broil button on your oven and leave your streak to cook in there
You have to let it stay in the pan for a good minute have the butter on the pan after the pan is really hot then let it sit well for about 4-6 minutes each side if you want it cooked well I’m talking all sides and then sear it at the end but cut the middle and open it to see if it’s still cooked inside
