Very interesting video Dexter. Love watching your duck and rabbit videos. I raise Khaki Campbell ducks at our farm although it’s on a much smaller scale than you there in the Philippines. Here in Canada it’s much colder so we have to leave them in the incubator to dry off before bringing them to the brooder and we must supply them heat for a couple of weeks. I actually have a very good hatch rate at about 95% without misting the eggs but I do make it more humid the last few days before they hatch. I wonder if I use your technique of misting if I can get a 100% hatch rate. I like the KC ducks cause if their hardiness, adaptability to winter, foraging and prolific egg laying. We also sell some hatching eggs, live ducklings and we also harvest ducks for food. Awesome life on the farm eh. Your incubator is so big, you have a very nice setup bud. Thanks and have a great day, Chad from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦.
The Duck Farming Project is finally on it's progressive phase. Congrats po as always for the healthy and bountiful produce 😍 I hope magkaroon po kayo someday ng "SHOPPEE" then complete with DW Merch. Surely, bibili kami. Hoping po 😍
Congratulations Sir Dexter for very informative video about enhancing duck hatchery techniques. Kindly share your incubator supplier and i would like to have one. Thank very Sir Dexter
Thanks for another great video Dexter. We used to raise ducks 5 years ago. We got out of it and I really miss it. I just ordered 30 Khaki Campbells and plan to incubate their eggs. I have an incubator that will handle about 160 eggs at a time.
yes sir dexter. identifying the problem and adjusting immediately is very important, even of you do things for so long, there is always new things to learn. even if you do things for 5 or even 10 years. there are still new things to learn. that is for sure. keep the vidoes coming.
The ducks LOVE azola and duckweed! Also, spraying and high humidity helps a lot to soften shells in the last few days, as you noted. Also, you mentioned 39c last temp. Temp should be lowered in final week and final days by 1.5c each step.
Greeting Dexter! I appreciate your instructive video on your farm, particularly on the ducks. In West Africa where I live we do not have Itik pinas, but Muscovy duck in artisan's way of breeding. My project is to do it on a large scale ie professional but my actual problem is to know when to stop turning the eggs and spray water on the eggs to get better hatching rate! Thanks s lot fo sharing your passion!
I hatched some duck eggs last year! First time ever hatching eggs and I did it in a homemade incubator. One time I checked and felt the eggs, they were hot to the touch and I thought they may have been cooked, thinking there's no way a duck could get her eggs this hot. But to my surprise most of the eggs hatched on time.
hi Dexter, thanks for all your videos, they really helped with starting my own little farm of ducks, i have found that the misting also improves survival rates in Muscovy ducks. due to the thick shells and thick cuticle layer, they seem to trap the heat killing the developing embryo, so it would appear that misting helps cool the eggs. however, if the eggs are not monitored for water loss we can have problems at hatching, where the chicks have to much fluid to absorb and are to fat to zip. so guys if you are going to try misting be sure that the egg still looses the right amount of water.
Sir Dexter, I was thinking it would be nice to paint your roof with your Logo Dexters World. It would add attraction to your aerial drone video might as well be captured by google map. Hehehe
Great job Dexter. How about raising broilers and having them produce fertilized eggs as well? I've done a search on youtube on that domain and there isn't much info out there.
Dexter it you get some. Moskovie ducks they will eat all the flies on your farm, The moskovie hens are very good mothers and will regularly hatch out 12 o 18 eggs on her own, the drakes are also a large duck being all Dak meat, if you get the Moscovies you will solve your fly problem alot cheeper with more income. From selling he extra drakes as meat birds,
Hey Good afternoon! I'm a follower of your projects that are so fantastic, I'm already trying to raise some chickens, I was unlucky for them to die almost 80% I'm trying to buy more hens or chicks, due to the casses in the market, I need an ecobadora with less 200 to 400 eggs.
If you have an incubator specifically calibrated for chicken eggs, then misting duck eggs starting at day 10-14 is a must because ducks, being water fowls, naturally keep their eggs at a higher humidity. Reducing calcium in feed to weaken egg shell is at best counter productive, and at worst, very dangerous. Birds will lay their eggs with shells best suited for their species to ensure highest survival rates. If the feed is lacking calcium then the birds will draw from its reserves from her own bones. The long term production of the flock will suffer.
Really impressive farming... Exactly the way I want to do it my self... Thanks for this free education!... We live in Katipunan, near Dipolog City. Do you also have rabbits for sale?
Hi Dexter, A very labor intensive way to get much more out of the duck eggs by spraying them to make them brittle that allows the chick to break out of the egg in a more natural way. It is a curious thing to see the ducks so scared, maybe the isolation of the pens. Hopefully, when they are released into the bigger space, that changes! It seems that your new property can help you balance the productivity of the farm has with your goals of management, and learned skills develop. Great video segment! Thanks, Peace!
Sir Dexter, question po, ilang days po anv duck eggs nilalagay sa hatcher? Kasi yung sa chicken sabi 18days daw po nilalagay na sa hatcher, so howw about sa ducks po? Slamat po sa sagot Godbless
