Had the incredible honor of meeting Luciano backstage at MET when I was a little girl. My mother took me to see Tosca . She was a huge Opera and Luciano fan . She had a very special bent nail made for him , 14 carat with a diamond on the head of the nail . She gave it to an usher and at first intermission a man came out and told my mom she was requested to come backstage . Will never forgot how little I was and how large he was , he placed his hand on the top of my head then kissed it . His hand to me was enormous. 2 yrs later at an event at the MET Luciano was there and spotted my mom across the room, he yelled across the room ‘ beautiful lady ‘ I remember beautiful lady. Lost my mom almost 2yrs ago and played Nessun Dorma on a loop her final days
Beautiful souls, ❤❤ my mother loved Luciano Pavarotti and I share her love. What a wonderful voice and how amazing is this interesting talk between these two artists.
June 3, 2023 I only saw Pavarotti once in a very short concert and I have always felt a serenity and ready to take my place in the next life, knowing that I go there with his music, his voice, and just how good he makes me feel to listen to him sing.
Yes, but don’t forget the music of the angels. I think that is the reason why so many love Pavoratti and his sweet voice. It was on the threshold of Heaven.
Two giants incredibly talented and greatly missed so far no other operatic singer has taken the place of pavarroti in these last years of the 20th century And the same withPeter Ustinov such iconic performers what a pleasure it is to listen to these incredible artists in their separate talents two masters of the twentieth century how wonderful thankyou so much 🌺🌻🌹😍🌷💐🌸💜🥰
Brilliant. Super interesting, unique and just leaves one with a warm and fuzzy feeling, getting to know (just a bit) this stellar man with a golden voice.
We are all the lesser off, with the lost theses great men. Who came into a world with a gift, and so articulat what is decent of human being. To be kind, and charming that doesn't cost nothing.
Was für Persönlichkeiten❤❤
Einmal Pavarotti immer Pavarotti🎉 Mit Peter Ustinov nochmal dazu was besonderes❤
A beautiful voice, so pristine in its prime, a wonderful soul that is so effusive about life and its diverse sensations. What greater wealth can a human covet? Perhaps only the luxury of lounging in a hammock under the crispy Mediterranean sun after a hearty meal and talking about silence.
What a magnificent gift! This interview was like a drive down a long, winding, hilly road filled with shocks of beauty, fresh air, vibrant colors and lush surprises at the summit where you then look down upon a breathtaking valley of sparkling lights. I was carried from wonderful moment to phenomenal moment, dipped in music, spattered with art, enthralled by these two witty and perfectionist giants of the stage. I felt like a friend in the living room, part of the scene where these two masters of their craft share their love and respect for each other and the pleasure of their company. Pavarotti was just as I imagined him to be, at home, secure, relaxed surrounded by the sun and the sea. I was blessed to see him in concert at the Esplanade in Boston, where he gave a free concert as part of the crowd scene for the movie, “ Yes Giorgio”, at the Spectrum in Philadelphia where his “Ingemisco” from Verdi Requiem received a sustained ovation and at the 50 th Anniversary of The San Francisco Opera, where I actually met him along with members of the opera symphony. An extraordinary man, who has made an indelible mark on humanity and brought classical music and opera from unaffordable spaces to the masses. In his time, Pavarotti brought a bit of heaven to earth. Peter and Pavarotti rest in peace and thank you. MBT 8/28/2023
Thanks for posting! peter Ustinov is such a joy and so is Pav...i think there is show with him and coloratura sop...dame Julie Andrews...also great show. I think a big tragedy is Julie andrews never singing with the great pav.
Trank you so much. I saw it on TV back then with a German translation. I've been looking for this for many years and haven't found it. This interview brought me to opera. As long as I live. My wife saw this for the first time today and was very touched. Pavarotti says things…. like a tragic prediction of his own life. He was such a great singer.
What was the sentence he answered with to "what makes you angry?" Did he say "when somebody is.. pretends to be.. stupid?" I get the gist is he doesn't think anyone should be judged by another human but didn't understand the exact answer.
I notice you kept out the astoundingly rude comments made by Ustinov, where after enjoying Pavarotti's hospitality, the documentary ends at a later time with Ustinov totally trashing the great tenor as though it is relevant whether or not he enjoyed the food and drink served him. I used to like Peter Ustinov, but he is just a boor with no manners and not much talent.
What a kind man with the most beautiful smile❤
Not only does this man have a fabulous voice he has an amazing smile, his entire face lights up. Handsome and such talent.... ❤
And humble when it come to success
Two greats sharing time together. A joy to watch. ❤
2 of my favourite people. Loved this as it wasn’t an interview it was two like minded people enjoying each other’s company.

Two giants! Literally and artistically both.

It brought joy to watch these two giants of incomparable wit. Thank you for this post!

One can learn from this great man about this art called life. I miss him so much.
Loved every minute of this video
Love them both in two different arenas and in two different times, theatre and music unite us.
This was a time giants walked the earth.......
We are left with talentless, intellectual pygmies!
So true!

They are hysterical I
“love seeing Pavarotti cook and tell him to come and cook if he doesn’t like it! He was yelling for pasta!!!
Jeder vertägt eine andere Schärfe😂
❤ I'm honored to have seen him perform
I feel blessed to have been young in thouse days, and experienced both of them live on stage. Ah, what titans in each of their ways!

The greatest
I had only heard the name Peter Ustinov before this video, I'm embarrassed to say. He was very funny, informed, and charismatic with Maestro.
Zwei EINZIGARTIGE UND WUNDERBARE MENSCHEN 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
That aint an interview , that is chat between 2 friends on the same page who were giants in their craft
Two giants respecting and enjoying theirselfs!
What a treasure that documentation is!
TYy to the uploader Mister Bueno! 😎
Both men were irreplaceable.
Indeed, and how lucky we are to have these recorded moments.
Who knew that Vicky and I had Pavarotti in common!
thanks 🙏giving
Luciano swallowed more than a Stradivarius. He swallowed the whole orchestra many, many, many times.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
♥️🥰♥️🎶🥰
Fantastic insight into the life of a legend. Would any ne know what is being sung at 10:14? Please :)
It's Recondita Armonia from Tosca
Legendas🇧🇷
Pavarotti had before and behind of his house a very loud street hillup!
“40 years with my wife… “ How much longer did that last?
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Does anybody know what Di Stefano sings at around 23:00 please?
Vainement ma bien aimee from Le Roi D’Ys by Edouard Lalo.
can someone please tell me what song is playing at 23:34 forgive me for being uneducated
What was the sentence he answered with to "what makes you angry?" Did he say "when somebody is.. pretends to be.. stupid?" I get the gist is he doesn't think anyone should be judged by another human but didn't understand the exact answer.
Pavarotti is confusing English people with Welsh, who are immersed in music - similar to Italians.
Whats being sung at 38:43?
The soldier's chorus from Verdi's " Il Trovatore"
Russo e Italiano 😊😅❤

I don't accept his voice, but it's the most great of ever. Nobody compared to Luciano
Mito 1 e 2. Maybe myto Sir Peter Ustinov had has the best food on his beautiful Life
Frau😊
