around 10 months ago i quit playing the game after 7 years, and im slowly getting my friends to do the same now. they've gradually seen over time that there are plenty of other games where... you just have fun and don't feel frustrated. wild to me that people who play league will complain, call the game awful, whine about every little thing. and then when you say "so stop playing the game if it's got so many problems" they lash out and say no

(likely the result of greedy shareholders focusing on purely MTX and not improving the game) here's some advice for you. spend a few hours on call listening to some friends play ranked league, whilst some others play a different game. you will hear the difference in enjoyment between the two groups immediately
Truth is you simply can't skip the fundamental learning phase of a MOBA, even if you have the best coaches in the world. Most of your experience in other games doesn't transfer to a MOBA. Unless you're extremely gifted, you won't just make it to plat within a couple of weeks. It takes time. This was too high of a goal to begin with.

i dont think so; hes noticing that something went "bad" but a lot of the time he makes bad plays with a lucky good outcome and thinks that what he is doing is correct plat players arent even that good but they atleast know like "if i go in here ill die" or "i need to ward here when i dive"
@@aidanknox2430 I think a big part of the problem in this particular game was that he clearly wasn't accounting for how far behind he was in his decision making even though he knew it and was saying it out loud, it's like he didn't know how to adjust his playstyle to account for the difference but at least he knew there was something he was missing. I think we've all been there at some point in our journey and I very much sympathized with his frustrations even if a lot of his mistakes are comically basic. We who have wasted our lives on league often forget how complex league is and especially when you have someone learning a game quickly they are likely to lack a lot of fundamentals from being punished and suffering in games like this one even as they can grasp advanced concepts and be fine when they are ahead or get lucky.
@@NoPodcastsHere His big problem is just a big lack of champion knowledge. You don't know what you are allowed and not allowed to do in a game unless you know what your enemies can do. There being so many champs makes learning difficult because things that work in one game won't in the next. Just takes time
i feel like this whole venture is a good wake up call for most of the people in the league community, we have been continuously bombarded with creators who are more than above average, so its really nice to finally have someone represent the average league player. ludwig is who most of us play with and its nice to remember that there's a person behind that player.
i think the experience is 10x worse because he plays jg, where it feels impossible to play if you keep getting invaded and on top of that, that he plays amumu which cant do much without a team

I love how he didn’t blame his teammates. Wouldn’t have expected that from him. It looks like he has the correct mentality on learning the game (Blaming yourself, because you can always play better), which is why I think it is still possible for him to get plat. Most people are saying that it’s impossible to hit plat elo so quick, but with the correct learning mentality and Perry helping him he can do it!
A lot of people can hit plat in their first season of playing but not in the very limited time he has left, I feel like that’s still asking for way too much
He does not have the experience and muscle memory to hit plat I’m sorry. He doesn’t understand how lanes work at a simple level yet and doesn’t understand most runs except the ones he uses too. You just cannot get to plat without that knowledge unless you have godly hands (which he doesn’t). I think he can hit plat next season though if he drops caring so much about his emotions and just focuses on the game instead.

I watched the entire replay, Ludwig wastes around 6 minutes of the early game standing on brushes forcing bad plays instead of literally just clearing his jg. HE ALSO SKIPS HIS KRUGS LIKE 5 TIMES FOR NO REASON. He farmed krugs 3 times the whole game. He gets surpirsed warwick is where he is even though he can see where he heads on the map after he ganks mid or bot. He never ganked top when top was fighting all game long. He finally gets sweeper at 10 minutes. He can't be taking this challenge serious. almost 500 games and getting coached by challenger coach every day is crazy.
He needs to watch Broxah or something and learn when it is better to farm and ignore your laners if they are in a bad position, playing to win instead of trying to just get kills, etc.

True playing mutlitple lanes for the first cupple months is a good way to build up game knowledge. Then transition into what you enjoy the most and get good at it.
jungle is extremely important and requires skills a beginner just doesn't have, always start on a lane and try jungle later on even if your intention is to be a jungler
very true, jungle is hard for a complete beginner to play. i found support to be a really easy role to climb with if you play a cc character like ali/naut.
@@bertrammollen I completely disagree. You're not learning anything playing a bunch of lanes. I strongly suggest if the goal is to learn the game fast, pick a role, pick a champ, and stick to it. One tricking a champ means you learn your matchups, you learn what to build and why it's good in what situation, you understand your own champ and lane and can focus more on improving rather than figuring out what your abilities do, or what you're purchasing next, or how to last hit, or if you can walk up, or if you win a trade. A bronze 4 player in every lane is much worse than a silver 1 player in 1 lane, and that silver player understands much more about the game.

He's new so it's normal, but they were all very big mistakes that were all easily completely avoidable. That being said, if you're getting clapped in jgl there's generally 2 good things you can do: 1. farm, farm catchup in jungle is insane. 2. Play opposite lane, see the enemy jgl bott? You should be top side making plays, and vice versa.

So, genuine question for people who play League at a high level right now: Back in my day, jungle money was miserable, and it was a well-known fact that if you wanted to pull ahead you either had to gank like crazy or max-efficiency power-farm your camps, the enemy's camps and your teams' lanes while you were at it. Nowadays though, I hear everyone talk about how bad it is that Lud tries to force ganks early insteady of just farming, so is farming jungle actually good now? I know they added some more creeps, but is that enough to make it worthwhile? Did they make any other adjustments while I wasn't looking?
It's not about gold or lvl it's about timing. He wastes so much time waiting to go gank a lane instead of farming a camp and then ganking when the time is right.
League changed a great ton. You cant taxe lane anymore because minions gives less exp for jgler and affect the jg gold income if you taxe too much. Nowadays jungle need to balance. If you just maximize farm you'll still be behind in exp compared to mid and top. The gold income is still similar to before so you'd also be behind. You need to gain exp and gold from kills at some point but if you skip camps for a failed gank you still get behind by delaying the camp respawn. Jungle is all about efficiency now, you gain whatever kill you can but also do not forsake farm. It is however good to note that successful gank are highly profitable since it gives tons of exp and gold and is a necessity, the problem has always been how to get them efficiently without losing time.
Jungle is a lot easier right now and most champs can get a roughly 3:30 or faster healthy clear with no leash with mediocre kiting. So even if you perma farm you still get a good amount of time to gank or do an objective.
Jungle is like 2x easier to do now, you don't even need a pull on red/blue. The main difference is camp respawn cooldown, you can't power farm like that anymore, you clear both sides of the map, then you have a window to gank, then you recall, and again.
some of the best jungle players in the world win some games without ganking a single time, they farm, and farm, and farm, and farm and then teamfight, but no ganks, farming is 100% the way to go for jungle now
I really respect Lugwig for admitting and knowing hes the problem and that he's not having a good game. At the end of the day; it speaks alot about a person and player that can recognize this and not project flame on others. I think if he keeps playing and gaining real experience he could very well achieve this.
I play Noc JG 82% win rate at E3 and I build accordingly to what team needs. Lud always builds the same. Same build every single game, doesn't deviate, doesn't think "hmm, ww heals a lot, should I build anti-heal?" Or "my team needs team wins, should I team fight? Nah, let me 1 v 3 while behind".
The real issue is going bot, when they were already taking tower. You got tilted from that misplay then tried to tank a sylas with no MR. You need at least the mats for a spirit visage to heal through his DMG. You also pathed poorly vs a Warwick. You could have went krugs, after you saw him taking raptors.

Jungle tip for Ludwig and possibly newbie junglers. Don’t waste time, time is not on your side and you must prioritize objective always. Never make mistake when they are up. Farm your camps then gank after clearing one side. So you don’t waste time. You’re clearing the top side? Gank mid or top. Dragon is free while enemy jungle is top? Take the dragon. Mid lane is pushed up to your tower? Gank him. Then rinse and repeat the play style then make some variations into how you jungle and see what works and don’t work.
I just enjoy that others are noticing how much it hurts to lose, even with a early lead. This shows that those that don't do great plays through out the game, means that lead isn't worth it, if you can't out play the other team later on. This shows that team work is needed to get one person, they had to solo out WW, gank, and then do a 5v4, but yeah, hope you all see that this is horrid feeling, being humble, and working together gets the Win. Enjoy playing, have fun, enjoy your character and learning. FYI- conq amumu is awful. It's false numbers.

League is a hard game, and takes time to get good at. Peaking gold in a single split of playing the game is remarkable. I remember freaking out when i got got silver the first season i started playing and two year later when i got diamond. If he enjoys the game he should keep playing but if he feels like its draining his life essence (which looks like it does tbh) he can drop it and come back after a few months. It is very unrealistic to expect to be good at it so fast. Especially when hes playing a role that will inevitably get harder and harder the higher he climbs.
WW has really good counterplay against Amumu once he gets going. To the point where mumu becomes a wet noodle champ and ww rolls the rest of the lanes. WW should be perma banned in your comp. I feel for him bad.

His coach told him to gank like that. It isnt technically wrong, however due to the positions of the enemies, they easily collapsed in on him. Ludwig mustve auto piloted.
The shame of this....if this were 6 months ago...he'd have hit plat *easily*, but he just happened to pick the split that they deflated everyone to put Plat back at ~82nd percentile. Not only is he combating inflation, he's against so many people who are tilted and/or on second accounts because their egos are hurt because they lost 400-600LP
In lol as a newb it is very difficult to jungle unless you've got map awareness, Because you find it difficult to rotate especially if you had a good jungle opponent. Your allies will always have plus 1 enemy in lane while you don't know what to do if you got invaded and no where to farm. I would recommend playing top for starters to focus on one lane first and observe your jungle rotations if you want to play jungle in future. It is somewhat pretty close.. been playing top/jungle and it is not hard transition tbh .. just gank top if your jungle and farm if your top. Simple. I'm not pro but it keeps me in plat and i enjoy the game. Also the hero pool is close
The problem was Lud was playing to Warwick’s strengths instead of his own. Warwick is an incredible dualist, while Amumu locks down team fights. While there were multi-person skirmishes, there wasn’t a lot of team fighting, and I think the game coulda gone differently. Granted, the tilt is pretty blinding to how you should play.
alot of these plays are just not following perry's advice. What does perry say? farm your camps efficiently and make high percentage ganks when your camps are respawning, you can win soo many games just by having more gold than your opponent and every death is just wasted fucking time. especially in the many bot ganks in this video. wasted time. If he is gonna get a challenger coach he should listen to him.
I havent watched the coaching, but he needs to learn what a high percentage gank is and what isn't. Telling someone to only go for high % alone is useless He has never played the lanes (maybe 20 top games) so he doesn't know what is a good position and bad position for the lane is ganking.

I understand why he has a hard time listening to the coach tho ... after several games I start slipping as well (doing random/stupid things ... a lot of the times it works out through shear luck or because the enemy team wasn't prepared). It is also hard to break habits from 400+ games, but you are right ... in low elo he should just farm until he has a time window to gank while his camps are respawning.
I mean none of that advice matters because his map awareness and skillshot accuracy are both abysmal. Just look at 3:20. It isnt even a bad gank at first, but he just sprints straight behind the turret without scouting for Warwick. WW activates blood hunt and the icon appears above Ludwig, but he has 0 champion knowledge so he ignores it. Then when he has vision of WW, he could just turn around and leave. Instead he decides to walk through all 3 of them and die for no reason. Or at 3:56 he pings dragon, it immediately dies to WW, and he decides to engage bot 1v2 and is bewildered that WW is there. He has literally no game sense whatsoever and no amount of coaching will fix that.
Probably in high elo as well, like Agurin does the same in challenger and has reached rank 1 EUW and I think Korea as well. He is very efficient, but more of a "passive" player.
It also matters he's playing amumu. Have you ever seen an Amumu with perfect cs and thought: we're fucked? No. Amumu is trash for noobs to scrape by in silver.
a bit weird he picked jg to climb sure you can afk clear camps which doesnt take much time to "master" but if that is really the strategy he wants to go for, he should be picking a scaling jungler llike kayn who'll have more late game presence. being a cc tank relies quite heavily on your team for followup support would've been the best role for a newcomer to climb and in general, learning to play top/mid, about wave states, jungle tracking, etc. is pretty pivotal to obtaining the knowledge to play jungle well

He shouldn't have stayed in bot in the first place tbh, spent like a minute in the bush, while Warwick had time to clear his entire jungle and still gank.
Kinda sad that he's getting so tilted so often that he stopped improving. Plat is def impossible this season unless some miracle happens but I hope he finds joy in league next season if he chooses to keep playing
I feel like league is up there with dota as hardest games to learn. You will never make up for not knowing what 150 champions do and years of experience. Even if you have insane mechanics on a specific champ you really need to know every match up very well to climb and beyond that need to know a lot about other champs and macro, it's just too much to speed run.
I just don’t understand why he played Jungle one of the most difficult role in the game, and the fact he stubborn enough to play Amumu and Fiddle even he can play other champ still amazed me.
He's further along than I was expecting. Last I saw he was Silver 2. I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like he's going to push too much the last couple days and end up back at Silver 4 where he started before League Week.
I gotta commend Ludwig for his loyalty. Bro has 469 ranked games played this season 462/469 with Amumu/Fiddle That's just absolutely bonkers to me. I feel like he'd greatly benefit from diversifying his champion pool.
Or just not playing ammumu. You should obviously play whatever is fun for you, but I think there are stronger solo queue junglers that are easy to play, other than ammumu.
Maybe but when I did that, trying out new champions, it kept me in bronze/silver for months. I'm not sure if I got much out of it. I only climbed to plat when I stuck with Fiddlesticks and Jarvan to a lesser extent.
In terms of winning, definitely not. 1/2 tricking is definitely the way to go. Way easier to just learn a game from one perspective at a time instead of multiple.
i think what lud really needs to do is play more champions dont limit yourself to just the fiddler and emo mummy, he really needs to understand more about other characters and how he can counter them, who knows he might be able to find a better jungle character for him that he will fully enjoy.

I think we've all been there at some point in our journey and I very much sympathized with his frustrations even if a lot of his mistakes are comically basic. We who have wasted our lives on league often forget how complex league is and especially when you have someone learning a game quickly they are likely to lack a lot of fundamentals from being punished and suffering in games like this one even as they can grasp advanced concepts and be fine when they are ahead or get lucky.

You just cannot get to plat without that knowledge unless you have godly hands (which he doesn’t). I think he can hit plat next season though if he drops caring so much about his emotions and just focuses on the game instead.

I watched the entire replay, Ludwig wastes around 6 minutes of the early game standing on brushes forcing bad plays instead of literally just clearing his jg. HE ALSO SKIPS HIS KRUGS LIKE 5 TIMES FOR NO REASON. He farmed krugs 3 times the whole game. He gets surpirsed warwick is where he is even though he can see where he heads on the map after he ganks mid or bot. He never ganked top when top was fighting all game long. He finally gets sweeper at 10 minutes. He can't be taking this challenge serious. almost 500 games and getting coached by challenger coach every day is crazy.
He needs to watch Broxah or something and learn when it is better to farm and ignore your laners if they are in a bad position, playing to win instead of trying to just get kills, etc.

New players should play a lane not jungle IMO. You can tell they just waste time and are not productive
True playing mutlitple lanes for the first cupple months is a good way to build up game knowledge. Then transition into what you enjoy the most and get good at it.
jungle is extremely important and requires skills a beginner just doesn't have, always start on a lane and try jungle later on even if your intention is to be a jungler

One tricking a champ means you learn your matchups, you learn what to build and why it's good in what situation, you understand your own champ and lane and can focus more on improving rather than figuring out what your abilities do, or what you're purchasing next, or how to last hit, or if you can walk up, or if you win a trade.
A bronze 4 player in every lane is much worse than a silver 1 player in 1 lane, and that silver player understands much more about the game.

He's new so it's normal, but they were all very big mistakes that were all easily completely avoidable.
That being said, if you're getting clapped in jgl there's generally 2 good things you can do: 1. farm, farm catchup in jungle is insane.
2. Play opposite lane, see the enemy jgl bott? You should be top side making plays, and vice versa.

So, genuine question for people who play League at a high level right now: Back in my day, jungle money was miserable, and it was a well-known fact that if you wanted to pull ahead you either had to gank like crazy or max-efficiency power-farm your camps, the enemy's camps and your teams' lanes while you were at it. Nowadays though, I hear everyone talk about how bad it is that Lud tries to force ganks early insteady of just farming, so is farming jungle actually good now? I know they added some more creeps, but is that enough to make it worthwhile? Did they make any other adjustments while I wasn't looking?
It's not about gold or lvl it's about timing. He wastes so much time waiting to go gank a lane instead of farming a camp and then ganking when the time is right.
League changed a great ton. You cant taxe lane anymore because minions gives less exp for jgler and affect the jg gold income if you taxe too much.
Nowadays jungle need to balance. If you just maximize farm you'll still be behind in exp compared to mid and top. The gold income is still similar to before so you'd also be behind. You need to gain exp and gold from kills at some point but if you skip camps for a failed gank you still get behind by delaying the camp respawn. Jungle is all about efficiency now, you gain whatever kill you can but also do not forsake farm.
It is however good to note that successful gank are highly profitable since it gives tons of exp and gold and is a necessity, the problem has always been how to get them efficiently without losing time.
Jungle is a lot easier right now and most champs can get a roughly 3:30 or faster healthy clear with no leash with mediocre kiting. So even if you perma farm you still get a good amount of time to gank or do an objective.
Jungle is like 2x easier to do now, you don't even need a pull on red/blue.
The main difference is camp respawn cooldown, you can't power farm like that anymore, you clear both sides of the map, then you have a window to gank, then you recall, and again.
some of the best jungle players in the world win some games without ganking a single time, they farm, and farm, and farm, and farm and then teamfight, but no ganks, farming is 100% the way to go for jungle now

Lud always builds the same. Same build every single game, doesn't deviate, doesn't think "hmm, ww heals a lot, should I build anti-heal?" Or "my team needs team wins, should I team fight? Nah, let me 1 v 3 while behind".

Jungle tip for Ludwig and possibly newbie junglers. Don’t waste time, time is not on your side and you must prioritize objective always. Never make mistake when they are up. Farm your camps then gank after clearing one side. So you don’t waste time. You’re clearing the top side? Gank mid or top.
Dragon is free while enemy jungle is top? Take the dragon. Mid lane is pushed up to your tower? Gank him. Then rinse and repeat the play style then make some variations into how you jungle and see what works and don’t work.

League is a hard game, and takes time to get good at. Peaking gold in a single split of playing the game is remarkable. I remember freaking out when i got got silver the first season i started playing and two year later when i got diamond. If he enjoys the game he should keep playing but if he feels like its draining his life essence (which looks like it does tbh) he can drop it and come back after a few months. It is very unrealistic to expect to be good at it so fast. Especially when hes playing a role that will inevitably get harder and harder the higher he climbs.
WW has really good counterplay against Amumu once he gets going. To the point where mumu becomes a wet noodle champ and ww rolls the rest of the lanes. WW should be perma banned in your comp. I feel for him bad.

In lol as a newb it is very difficult to jungle unless you've got map awareness, Because you find it difficult to rotate especially if you had a good jungle opponent. Your allies will always have plus 1 enemy in lane while you don't know what to do if you got invaded and no where to farm. I would recommend playing top for starters to focus on one lane first and observe your jungle rotations if you want to play jungle in future. It is somewhat pretty close.. been playing top/jungle and it is not hard transition tbh .. just gank top if your jungle and farm if your top. Simple. I'm not pro but it keeps me in plat and i enjoy the game. Also the hero pool is close

The problem was Lud was playing to Warwick’s strengths instead of his own. Warwick is an incredible dualist, while Amumu locks down team fights. While there were multi-person skirmishes, there wasn’t a lot of team fighting, and I think the game coulda gone differently. Granted, the tilt is pretty blinding to how you should play.

What does perry say? farm your camps efficiently and make high percentage ganks when your camps are respawning, you can win soo many games just by having more gold than your opponent and every death is just wasted fucking time. especially in the many bot ganks in this video. wasted time. I havent watched the coaching, but he needs to learn what a high percentage gank is and what isn't. Telling someone to only go for high % alone is useless

It is also hard to break habits from 400+ games, but you are right ... in low elo he should just farm until he has a time window to gank while his camps are respawning.
I mean none of that advice matters because his map awareness and skillshot accuracy are both abysmal. Just look at 3:20. It isnt even a bad gank at first, but he just sprints straight behind the turret without scouting for Warwick. WW activates blood hunt and the icon appears above Ludwig, but he has 0 champion knowledge so he ignores it. Then when he has vision of WW, he could just turn around and leave. Instead he decides to walk through all 3 of them and die for no reason.
Or at 3:56 he pings dragon, it immediately dies to WW, and he decides to engage bot 1v2 and is bewildered that WW is there. He has literally no game sense whatsoever and no amount of coaching will fix that.
Probably in high elo as well, like Agurin does the same in challenger and has reached rank 1 EUW and I think Korea as well.
He is very efficient, but more of a "passive" player.
It also matters he's playing amumu. Have you ever seen an Amumu with perfect cs and thought: we're fucked? No. Amumu is trash for noobs to scrape by in silver.

support would've been the best role for a newcomer to climb and in general, learning to play top/mid, about wave states, jungle tracking, etc. is pretty pivotal to obtaining the knowledge to play jungle well

I feel like league is up there with dota as hardest games to learn. You will never make up for not knowing what 150 champions do and years of experience. Even if you have insane mechanics on a specific champ you really need to know every match up very well to climb and beyond that need to know a lot about other champs and macro, it's just too much to speed run.

In terms of winning, definitely not. 1/2 tricking is definitely the way to go. Way easier to just learn a game from one perspective at a time instead of multiple.
Thats not the issue, those champs are GREAT for soloQ in my opinion, hes just... bad... really, in a lot of ways.

i think what lud really needs to do is play more champions dont limit yourself to just the fiddler and emo mummy, he really needs to understand more about other characters and how he can counter them, who knows he might be able to find a better jungle character for him that he will fully enjoy.
