In the Hindu epic Mahabharata, Abhimanyu married Uttara in the city of Upaplavya:
Uttara: The princess of Matsya, daughter of King Virata and Queen Sudeshna. During the Pandavas' exile, she learned music and dance from Arjuna, the third Pandava.
Abhimanyu: The son of Arjuna.
Marriage: Arjuna proposed the marriage of Abhimanyu and Uttara because he had previously served as her teacher. Abhimanyu and Uttara became pregnant before Abhimanyu died, and she gave birth to a son named Parikshit.
Parikshit: The grandson of Arjuna and son of Abhimanyu and Uttara. He became a well-known monarch and saved the Kuru lineage from extinction.
