Puerto Rican, Spanish, Mexican, Jew. I have plans on possibly changing my nationaity into Spanish Jews, than hispanic because i wasnt into my latino culture much, in fact i was much into learning the Spanish culture. I had thoughts on learning Castilian, Hebrew and Arabic, but i feel like learning Ladino is best for me.

It's interesting information. Today, Spaniards resent Latin Americans for rejecting their Spanish ancestry, but the Spanish do the same with their Jewish and Muslim ancestry and past. How ironic.

Sephardic jews were hispanic jews on the Iberian Peninsula. They were exiled and some migrated to north africa some to the americas. Maybe that's why you think they were black. But do the people of Spain look black to you? Have any of you done an ancestryDNA kit? Let's compare how much Jewish and Arican we all have.
@Higher Frequency I've done plenty of research. My last name (Villarreal)is a spanish sephardic surname that goes all the way back to the inquisition. Google it if you don't believe me. After a person gets DNA results all they do is research to try and understand their ancestry. The only way to do that is to read. I haven't found any truth to your claims. If you have any references share them. Sorry if it's shattering some identity you're trying to create for yourself. This all started with a misinterpretation of Deuteronomy 28:68. African slaves didn't sell themselves and there were obviously buyers. The texts says to sell yourself and there will be no buyers so it's a clear misinterpretation. Reading things isn't enough. Context is key. Also there were actually Ethiopian Jews but there is no connection to the people claiming to be of Jewish descent. But to try and tell me my Spanish ancestors were black is ridiculous.
Also "The origins of the Black Hebrew Israelite movement are found in Frank Cherry and William Saunders Crowdy, who both claimed that they had revelations in which they believed that God told them that African Americans are descendants of the Hebrews in the Christian Bible." That's from Wikipedia.

They are a couple and they both lecture at my university. They have emphatically maintained that no one can tell the origin of the Jews of Rome. @Rika Abbir Ironically, there are many who see Chassidics as something other than Jewish. They have their own rules, many non existent in the Torah. It is as if there's the Torah, the 5 books of Moses and there's the other, the Book of Chassidim that they alone follow made up primarily of rabbinical ideology, rabbinical laws and includes mysticism ( Kaballa). To give you an idea, Chassidics that live in Israel, wont participate in the military, they claim they are Jews not Israelis. Many of the men wont even work ( wives do) but instead live off of the israeli welfare system. Figure that one !
