How do you get a tight position? I can do a 2 rotation in my axel I just need that half for a double axel. Any tips?? Im practicing off ice. And also how do you make your jump higher?
do you work with jumprope? if so - do many repeptitions, do doubleunders, tripleunders; try singleunders with an exaggerated jump. Do many releves on two feet and each/single leg too. Do lots of jumping: going up the stairs, then do some more jumping onto higher surfaces (at least your knee height)... good luck
Tuta Muta if you have a rink then find a good progression like “snowplow Sam” and start there. Master each element and then progress. Watch vids to learn and practice on and off ice
Coach Ken Kash thank you. I’ve never taken a figure skating class before, ( I’m a self taught dancer ) do you think I can execute a axel by just watching axels in slow motion? I learn quickly by visualizing than words. How long do you think I can get it down? I can do the splits, back flip, pirouettes and much more. ( I’m in general and athletic shape ) how long will it take me to get it down if I start watching axels in slow motion?
TheSmilingRose thank you but I can’t either ughh ;( I feel like crying I’m missing some easy steps but hopefully I’ll get it by the end of this year thank you 🙏
JJ Paris Yeah having patience and believing in yourself and keep going through failures are so hard when you're learning things 😕 Especially when you're self taught, but if you don't give up it could be a HUGE ACHIEVEMENT!! Let's keep trying our best and not stress about it😊👍👍👍👍💕

Lots of UA-cam, lots and also practicing on and off ice if possible. Or on and off roller skates.
I’m so jealous I can’t get my axel down. I quited after 2 weeks of hard work ( I was 75% there ) . Any tips ?
JJ Paris keep working at it! It takes time, patience, and a lot of practice.

Why do they do those hopping steps 0:29 after the jumps? I never see anyone doing those in competitions
Laura on ice they glide after landing. Off ice you hop after the jump to protect ankles and simulate glide
Oh - That makes a lot more sense! Thank you! :D
Coach Ken Kash Correcto! Have many years have you been skating..? Do you do comps? I do. And I’ve been speaking for 9 years.
Laura because they lose balance
Laura it’s to build nuro pathways in the brain aka muscle memories for salchcow
double? aren't these just axels?
Ivy Cao watch till end. Starts off as singles and then tells you how to advance safely to next progressions, until you can do doubles off ice
Last jump was double axel
That wasnt a double axel that was just one
little shrimp watch the whole video. The video shows a progression. The last one is a double
Coach Ken Kash oh i saw it
Coach Ken Kash little shrimp
Coach Ken Kash ohhhh i thought you were calling him a little shrimp
Aurelia Hall lol
