George is on the opposite end of the political spectrum to me. For many years I had no time for the man nor his views. In the past five years, when I spent time reading his statements and watching his videos, I came to understand the man is one of the few politicians with any integrity and that many of his fundamental beliefs are not much different than mine. It is quite a change for me, a life long Tory, who has never voted anything but Conservative. How things have changed. I'll never vote Tory again. I even donated to George's campaign at the last GE.

That has been almost exactly my experience of Mr Galloway. I still don’t always agree with him but I don’t have to in order to respect him and appreciate the opportunity to listen to him. Having said that, any gal has closed in recent years… particularly that which highlights the failure of the frankly ridiculous Biden Regime and US hegemony.
I have started to see through the fog of the American Dream and see it for the war mongering nation that it has become and the lunacy of the left wing agenda that it advocated.

And both apparently opposite ends of the political spectrum. That is something I have rejected now as so much bunk. Left or right wing is immaterial . You know what feels right for you. And most of us have friends and relatives that think differently on many things, but there is always common ground. And in these strange times people need to come together and not be divided. So we can put this country to right and hopefully the world.

This was my childhood too, in the 1970’s in Wallasey - a lovely safe place, where no-one locked their doors, children could play in the parks & on the streets, indeed be left wandering for hours on the beach of New Brighton without a care in the world! It’s so heartbreaking my own child could never know that life 😢

I'm 66 y/o and live in the U.S. It's SHOCKING how much times have changed...economically, morally, socially, etc. When I was a child(in the 60's), we rode our bikes everywhere and played outside (without fear). We were never inside playing on electronic devices and we rarely watched TV. We only received 2 or 3 vaccines and people were not afraid of the "usual childhood illnesses," like measles, mumps, chicken pox, etc. I feel sorry for the younger generation. It seems that we are headed for dismal times. As you said..."I remember the DECENT times."

32, and I could only wish that the generations after have the same respect that I do for the ones before. Hope you are happy and well. Gone are the days of the 'soapbox politicians' that spoke from their heart and truly believed the words that they allowed to cross their lips and occupy the oxygen which we all share. Nothing but pandering now. Left wing policies from the tories, right wing policy from labour. They don't have a shred of integrity. RIP Tony Benn - The last of the good ones.

What we're seeing these days is a clash of FREE MARKET CAPITALISM and STATE CAPITALISM, and the likes of Trump represents FMC, whereas Biden represents SC. That'll not be what George wants to hear because Trump was better for the Working Class. In the UK as they both admit they're Liberal (SC) every single one, Labour and (most of) the Tories.

The UK has been sold off - privatised energy, rail, utility companies etc owned by global investment vehicles, and the US has allowed many of its manufacturing companies to relocate outside of the US - I think it was Clinton's NAFTA that did the damage. Since the ww2 its been liberal pluralism and Keynes economics - Goerge made a good point about US GDP 😀 I thought.

To have envied the power of women, they must have been familiar with it, even though what they told the people at the time is that women were worthless slaves, put upon by their menfolk throughout all the ages, and that they were going to make us citizens in their new society.
Whoever desires to make the people weak and dependent doesn't have the people's best interest at heart. There is much more involved with bringing up children than 'childminding'. For our part, we honour women, recognizing the height and breadth of their power in the country. Shakespeare's mother's family was from the Free Forest of Arden. She instilled in her children, when she homeschooled them, the principles of national and human liberty. The Forest of Arden was one of the few places in England that had not had a Norman lord supplanting the Saxon lord who had come before. In our long history of foreign domination, that was one layer free of another application of slavery.
We do not think much of what the liberals have made of womanhood, nor of childhood. They have brought us to our lowest ebb and made dwarfs of us all. Liberals appropriate a moral high ground that they don't possess in reality. They denigrate 'right wing' social ideas as anti women, like you did in your comment, while avoiding any debate on the merits of the issue. The people have lived through the social policies of the liberals, and can now perceive that the liberals are stunted intellectually and spiritually; they are visionless; they are unfit to lead the nation. They have led us astray, wasting our precious time, making the long march even longer. The people suspect whether the liberals have been our enemies this whole while, since Cromwell left office. We will not bear them any longer, but add them to the list.
The liberals' talk belies the truth of their policies. They have encouraged women to put their children in daycare and go out to work, all the while claiming they alone care about women and all the opposition wants is to oppress women. Childcare in their daycares is the lowest paid work with no future and no intellectual or spiritual reward. Daycares are not fit places for children. They are institutions and social industrial compounds where people, despite what they ever say about themselves (because to hear them tell it, they are more moral than the Puritans), stow people for whom they have little or no value.
The truth is that it is the social conservatives, so termed, that elevate women to a powerful place in society and acknowledge their divine role in society as teachers and visionaries. Bringing up children is a vital and powerful role because of the human potential of the children of a nation. Mothers, older sisters, and grandmothers are sages who decide the political direction of the nation for its future, and who ensure that the worth of our past generations is bequeathed like jewels to the young people, generation by generation. Mothers in the home, bringing up the most precious resource of a people, their children, teaching the children our history, and instilling in them our people's learned truths and our national principles, is a powerful vision worthy of the destiny of women. Mothers in the home make our people grow up strong. They teach them to use their own mind, and to be of one mind, so that the team is equally yoked and pulling in the same direction.
The liberals have had no vision for the future, and have relegated mankind to a paltry ant, or a meaningless cog in the machine of a soulless society. We will put the children back in their homes, for their sake, and for the future of the nation. Every home shall have a library, and every mother shall teach their children their family's intellectual heritage.

As an older American, the way these two Scotsmen use the English language, I find mysteriously "breathtaking". Frankly, Neil Oliver's speech is music to my ears. Unfortunately, I mistakenly never visited Scotland when I was younger and when it was still somewhat affordable. Of course, I enjoyed London and it's environs immensely in the 60's and 70's. That mysterious, supple, exotic dark haired lady that I met on that train to Brighton, on occasion, still rattles my mind. And it should! A brief and fleeting moment of paradise took place in that nondescript Brighton hotel. Sadly, I have no desire to go there now. On the whole, Europe is now only viable for rich American's. Money matters and more importantly the thrill is gone. The magic no longer exists. At one time the Harley House Hotel in Russell Square cost five pounds. I must say that once upon a time America was genuinely a liveable and rather decent country. Not so much anymore! Was my childhood really that carefree and happy or was it all a dream? Too be brutally honest, the best things about America sadly no longer exists. Among other things, it's now much too crowded, frenetic and expensive! America's rich now live in luxury in their own separate country called "Richistan". Entry is no longer allowed because real upward mobility no longer exists in America. If you are born poor you will probably die poor! What's past is past and gone forever!

Never was a fan of Galloway when I was younger but he has grown on me and I find myself in agreement with a lot of what he says.
    A great speaker.

Oh Neil what a treat..please please bring George back on a regular exchange of views..I'm 86 now but you both touch on my childhood..the values and the directness between parents and children plus all the people who lived around us...yes especially the local Bobby..who knew every child in his "patch"...will we ever recapture those basic values...my children who are now full grown and say from time to time how lucky they were to grow up in the early 60s..such freedom...
    Thank you thank you

I have enjoyed this session, Mr. Galloway and conversational partner so much, that I did not realise how long this wonderful conversation is. I have nothing but admiration to both. One thing only that I wish to comment on is this: it will be great to hear you tell us about the rule of law today-the rule of law around the globe because the cornerstone of the international and domestic Rule of Law is legal accountability. Today there is grossly violating established norms of international law. It would take someone like Mr. Galloway to shake it all up and make people think. God bless you two gentlemen both. Please, please take good care of yourself, Mr. Galloway, you brave, brave person. Blessings. x

A few minutes ago, my sister just sent me a video that was salvaged from an old 8mm film my dad took 60 years ago. Out family having a picnic at a park, us kids rowing his boat on the lake. It almost brought me to tears thinking about how family oriented we were in those days. My mom stayed home - always there when we got home from school. We never had money, but how they worked and sacrificed to give us a nice life. Then, at enormous sacrifice they brought us from South Africa to the US. Actually, I think I will have a good cry about the world that we lost.
