I love that the costumers made her dress yellow- and Juliet was the sun. The dancing is so beautiful and she makes you feels like you are watching a young girl fall in love and not just a dancer doing the moves required.
I had the privilege of watching her perform as Juliet at Covent Garden in 1984... it was breathtaking and spellbinding and remains a treasured favourite of mine. Allesandra and Wayne are triumphant but Allesandra Ferri captures the pure essence of Juliet like no other... I am so pleased she is back at age 52... she is legendary :-)
She is stunning, so much musicality as well as sheer glorious effortless technique. I also saw her in that ROH production and others and more recently with ABY in New York. so glad she has returned.
I have never heard of this ballerina before and she has only come into my knowledge through an advert on TV I am embarrassed to say. But what a revelation in my finding....she is one of the most amazing ballerinas I have ever seen. Look at those beautiful feet, her musicality, her stance, her lines, her technique...I could go on forever here - she is Ballerina with a capital B and every sense of what that word means. She takes my breath away - WONDERFUL xxxxxxxx
Alessandra Ferri was a prima ballerina in two different countries. She is legendary. Her Juliet is the best that I've seen. She has just the perfect musicality, expression, Por te Bras quick step and innocence for the role.

I'm just coming out of a three-hour Romeo & Juliet ballet from the famous Saint Petersbourg ballet in a prestigious parisian opera house. I felt I've been totally robbed. But watching this, now I know exactly why. This is fantastic.
But far better than that turgid, insipid Lavrovsky choreography that the Soviets cranked out. THAT choreography was boring and flat. No argument there. Too bad the Russians are still dancing it to this day.
