    Great tip - thank you. Rails are my great temporary friend. Starting to break up the relationship doing crappy powerslides but we're still best mates on the powerstop!

    Great, I'm currently struggling with the backwards entry powerslide, can't wait to go outside and try this! Your tutorials are some of the best out there, you really make the technics easy to comprehend. Thanks a lot!

      Nice! This little truck works really well for someone who is just learning how to slide.

    I love your channel. You have great tutorials. Please make a video with direct powerslide. Without going backward

      I will. The next few videos will be more just skating but I will 💯 make a complete powerslide tutorial.

      This will help. Focus on getting a down low on the edge.

    Have you covered the Parallel Slide I think they also call it Hockey Stop, it's very tricky to get both skates into the slide I find.

      Yes. One of my best videos covers parallel slide/hockey stop. Here is the link.

    Slide itself never was trouble for me, the difficulty I had was forward entry to powerslide - this took me time to get down

    A handy little tutorial I just shared with our new comrade in wheels (who sits right next to me in the office). He will be using this as his first steps to his first goal marker, the magic slide. Thanks as always Shaun. I'll try and refine my own powerslide but in my mind it seems a bit harder to perform in aggressive skates due to the smaller edges. Would the frames also hit the ground when doing a powerslide on said aggressive skates?

    • @FlowSkate
      @FlowSkate  7 років тому +1

      Yes. Most of the time a magic or powerslide are done on the frame and boot on aggressive skates.

      Well then, I'm glad I've been doing at right after all this time without actually knowing. Thanks again.

    Does the type of wheel matter when trying to do power stops and slides?

    • @psocretes8183
      @psocretes8183 7 років тому +2

      Yes and no. The harder the wheel the easier it is to cause a slide. But the real answer is to have most of your weight on the foot that is under you and extend the sliding foot out without transferring weight onto it. The more weight you transfer the quicker you stop. Think skating backwards on one foot and then extending the other foot without transferring weight.

    Actually I did this move automatically on ice when skating backwards and suddenly had to stop.. Does this also work with softer wheels (80a)?

    Shaun, do you ever have customers in your store? Don't they want to say hi in a video?

    • @FlowSkate
      @FlowSkate  7 років тому +1

      Haha. Sometimes. I usually put the camera away as soon as a customer is coming into the shop. I don't want to put people on the spot.

    Powerslide means death for your wheels. Mine look like hexagons only after two hours of training
