I’m such a fan of your videos. May I offer some technique tips I’ve learned in my 40+ years of crocheting? When working a rectangular piece, I’ve found that using a stacked double crochet to begin the row makes for a sturdy fabric with no gaps. Also, when working stitches into only one loop, working the last double crochet of the row into both loops adds sturdiness and leaves less gaps at the end of the rows. You end up with a more uniform rectangle without any stretchy edges. This is a great tank top
Yes, l find that better than starting (or ending) a row with three chains. I usually do one turning chain and then a double crochet in the very first stitch to avoid that skinny 3 chain that stands in for a double crochet.
I'm 4' 11 ... pretty much child sized clothes fit me 😂😂 I'm enjoying learning and making crochet tops to fit me and best of all they are all one of a kind !! 💗💗
I'm an extra large tops now within 2yrs now almost 3yrs I have lost over 365 pounds i use to weigh over 500 pounds ➕ Thankyou love and God bless you all Susan Morris from Boston Massachusetts 🙏 ❤
This is a lovely top! Just a tip depending on how you are built. Measure your bust, hips, and waist. If I make this, I will make it bigger to account for shrinkage of the fabric.
Crystal, you really look great in that tank top. It really shows your body shape off. I know t-shirts and beanies are your comfort, but you look great without them too. This is a great first time garment pattern for beginners. 🧶
I like this top. I think your instructions lend themselves to fit anyone. I have ideas on what I would change for my older, flabbier body! Now, to find the time...
Hi Crystal. You look so beautiful in that top. I like that you are modeling your makes. See you have inspired me to do this. Thank you so much. As always wishing you continued success on your channel from San Angelo TX. Stay safe n stay blessed. 💙🙏💋
Love this tank top !! I don’t know why you don’t wear your crochet items , with the exception of hats. You look gorgeous in all the things you model for us !! ❤️
Crystal, This is a good way to build confidence in ourselves when learning how to crochet. Thank You Very Much For Being So Patient And Understanding Of Our Concerns! Renae
Hey Crystal how is the family? How are the flowers? I miss seeing the bod squad but I'm loving the obviously new you! You are very pretty and you are great at modeling your new items, I'm loving this new tank top and I can see myself making tons of them, if lion brand ever has pima cotton available at Joanns again! ❤️❤️❤️ Say Hi to the family! And All the fur babies
Very good tutorial!! Easy to follow, easy to adjust sizes. I like easy pattern ideas. This should be easy for anyone to make for their own size. I find that in making clothes it's best to keep trying on and measure for your own body.
So first of all, what a beautiful piece. Second, you are NOT FAT. Your references to being overweight amaze me. You are a beautiful and very talented woman. I hope that you realize this... love your channel and your videos and how positive you are for the crochet community.
@@krazymammaw3040 When you tie a knot you wrap the yarn on top of each other then pull tight, wrap one tail twice around instead of once then putt tight, do it twice and it will not come undone. I wish I could tell you better, hope you can understand!
@@jaymeberkshire5119 You could make a short quick video. I kinda get what your saying but at the moment my brain is on disconnect, I have a bad headache. 😪 Thanks for the tip. 👍
Crystal you look amazing in this top and love that you modeled it . You did a great job explaining how to make it and it's so cute on you. Thank you for another great video oh and Mr BOD great job at the end of the video showing how to upload the chanel to find Crystal's great tutorials 👍🤗 I love you both have a great day. ❤❤ Hugs Maria
Hi crystal I’ve been crocheting for 67 years and you learn something different every day and you are so good at explaining how to do it love watching you
Crystal you are so very lovely, with your beautiful long hair, and I think you could model things you make with a sweet hat and that pretty hair.... I enjoy your patterns, too, by the way.... just wanted to give you a little “bouquet” to carry with you today 🥰 p.s. your smile is heart warming 😊
I really love this tank top, I plan on making one to match my pullover crop top. I found this very encouraging on making more garments for myself. Going to make in fingering weight wool.
You're too hard on yourself.. I think that this tutorial was just as easy to understand as one with stitch counts. I'm grabbing my big spool of cotton and making this right now. You're the best, thank you Crystal!
So beautiful on you. You definitely should be wearing more of these garments you have been making as opposed to all those t-shirts. They look amazing on you. I know your too young to be a child of the 70’s but you definitely dive off that vibe. Love it.
Love your video. I hope to start crocheting again. Thanks for your video's I need to go back to easy stuff to begin my crochet again. I would love to know if you have a video on how to make something easy and not to big that I can make a lot of them for Children in the hospital! I'm 80 years old and I would love to do that to stay busy.
I really love the way you are displaying your projects now all that wonderful nature makes your projects really pop. And I really like that you are wearing the project. My younger daughter is about identical to your size and age and height. She loves wearing tank tops under a open shirt and she has a birthday coming up in September I will definitely be making her a couple of these for a gift. Thank you Crystal
Making one for daughter, granddaughters and niece....loving this and thank you lady for your inspiration on all your patterns. You make crocheting fun again.
Row 6 begins around 12 : 45 of the following video. If you decide you just can't bear to have bare arms, maybe you could make the straps like Crystal did and then do something like rows 6, 7, & 8 (in the video in this) around the edges to make open, lacy sleeves? ua-cam.com/video/gQWfl3PWWCw/v-deo.html
This is so cute, I will have to make this also. My daughter who is 40, would definitely love one too. Now to yarn shop, so I can get started on this. Thank you Crystal and you looked real pretty in it.
You look so very pretty in the new tank top you made!! This will be perfect for my youngest daughter! She’s going to absolutely LOVE IT!Great tutorial!! Can’t wait to make it for her!! Your the BEST♥️♥️
loved this pattern and how it was easily sizable as a i wear a small/medium. My top turned out pretty good gonna add a border around bottom as i made it a little short.
There have been times that I have done the first row or round with using the little bump in the back to give it a nice clean start. It doesn't look so loopy. Very nice summer tank top, Crystal. Very easy, too. I like an easy, mindless project.
Absolutely perfect pattern. Started at 10 am on Row 10 and flying along. The FDC is good once you get your brain to remember it's FRONT STITCH LOL. Doing mine longer in Caron Cotton Cakes: Nested Blues.

What’s a stacked double crochet
Can I use alize diva yarn for this it’s a thin think yarn ?

Unfortunately
I’m about a medium top
I don’t grow tall anymore
I grow out lol !

Finally a top that is easy and can wear as is. Usually crochet tops you have to wear a cami or something underneath. Thanks Crystal.
So true! I've looked at many but definitely need something under it.
I just wanna say that I truly adore you& your hubby....& your family... 👍🏾
I like that tank top it is pretty thanks for sharing have a good week🤗🌹🌺🌈❤️
Top looks great. Mr Bod has perfect voice for teaching how to navigate your channel. Very cool.
This is a lovely top! Just a tip depending on how you are built. Measure your bust, hips, and waist. If I make this, I will make it bigger to account for shrinkage of the fabric.
Thanks so very much Crystal. I believe that I'll be able to manage it without freaking out.
Yes, you can do this! 😊
Hi Crystal!
Glad your husband gave some instructions at the end on how to navigate your channel, etc. Not everyone is tech savvy. Good thinking!
I LOVE that you are modeling what you make. You look so BEAUTIFUL!!!

Cool...I can't wait to crochet one up. It was fine without stitch counts because as you said, everybody's body is different.
Thank you Crystal...🤗🥰
You were very clever to make the vertical stripe for us short chunky girls!! Thank you
Hi Crystal. I live in South Africa. Summer will only come to us in a couple of months. I am definitely putting this on my summer list.

Oooh, Hi Crystal. Finally a tank top pattern I’ll be able to do. I’m 5’6”. I love that i can make it longer.

Thank you Crystal nice and simple summer top to crochet. I love it.😊
Love the tank top. You do an excellent explaining. Thanks Crystal.
I can't wait to try this one. I think it would be pretty with a matching cardigan
If you wrap your yarn tails twice they will not come undone, this is what I do and it has worked every time. It's a surgeons knot!!!
Can i ask what you mean by wrapping it twice? Do you mean wrap the tail twice around before finishing it off
@@krazymammaw3040 When you tie a knot you wrap the yarn on top of each other then pull tight, wrap one tail twice around instead of once then putt tight, do it twice and it will not come undone. I wish I could tell you better, hope you can understand!

You could make a short quick video. I kinda get what your saying but at the moment my brain is on disconnect, I have a bad headache. 😪 Thanks for the tip. 👍
Are you using this as a technique to join more yarn? I have used a surgeon's knot but not in crochet. It is an incredibly strong knot.
Ooooo play that run way music!
Gotta this too! Its Summer and I have lots of cotton, let's do this!
This is gorgeous!! I have JUST the yarn color I want to make one of these tanks out of🥰
Crystal you look amazing in this top and love that you modeled it . You did a great job explaining how to make it and it's so cute on you. Hoping I can make this! I don’t let my flabby arms show, but I could put a thin top over it.
I say, God gave me wings, I'm gonna let 'em fly! I don't care what other people think, I'm going to be comfortable.
