When I play anything I always use the cards or team I like not what is currently strongest. I know I might not beat everyone but I want to win with the things I like not with what is currently strongest

Players only learn from playing with people at stores etc. So when a new mechanic is introduced even if a basic one. it appears to anime protags as something amazing/new. When it was not it was always possible. Basically if everyone you play does not know a mechanic exists you will not know it ever.
