@@smaakjeks almost right, but not quite. The depth of field and focal length is equivalent to full frame 53mm f1.4. But it still lets in light as a f0.95 lens.
This lens appears to have the exact same optical formula as the Mikaton 35mm f/0.95 II, and the Risepray 35mm f/0.95. The Mikaton ver. II was a refinement of the original design, then Risepray swapped out the heavy brass mount and thicker housing from the Mikaton for their own Leica-inspired housing, and now 7artisans have their own version in their housing. The 3 lenses are effectively identical, with variations in optical performance likely being down to individual oens coatings, and sample variation. The 7artisans model has a flipped focusing ring on the XF mount version to match Fuji lenses and is lighter than the Mikaton. I have the Mikaton ver. II and it is a stunning lens. That 7artisans have managed to effectively package the same lens together in a smaller, lighter housing, for $250 is great. Solid effort by 7artisans but Mitikon’s 35mm f0.95 Mark ii lens has it beat in almost all my testing categories. The build, better contrast, much better roll off, quality of bokeh & shallow depth. Focus breathing on the mitikon seems less pronounced. Credit where it’s due. Good job mitikon. 7artisans not bad either! Competition is great for us consumers :)

Try the cannon 10-18mm
I don't think it normally says "sample" ;)
Is this lens at all good for astro photography? I don't mind a bit of vignetting and would love to try it on my A7.
I think you can find something better for full frame
@@buleulek5153 At this price?
@@draginator6 do you want me to find the best offer for you ?
@@buleulek5153 that's not necessary but a general search term would be helpful please.
Please make one comparison video of this lense with mitakon 35mm
f 0.95
It’s work on Sony Full frame?
yep, but you will get vignetting, he shows that 3:34
I wish I could see some photos using on full frame camera but thanks anyway!
Sony A7s iii and this lens for low light✨✨✨✨
wow I just realized that using ACTIVE IBIS or 4k120 on A7S3 will give a slight crop which will reduce the current "not so bad" vignetting 😏 very interesting
A7s is full frame. Just get a full frame 50mm f1.4 to recreate what this lens can do on APS-C.
Thanks a lot. Great review! :)
Nice review, as ever.. hoping for a M43 fitting soon ..
same here bud
Thanks for this. I could move over to these guys. Currently have their 60mm macro and it's a beauty. Really solid and great optics.
Does this go with MFT cameras? I have a lumix g95 but my lens is lowest f stop of 3.5.
What about for shooting video?
is it good on Fuji too? I imagine so...
Are these lenses made for any aps-c cameras, like Fujifilm for example, and would I need a special type of adapter for it to fit on my Fujifilm x-t4?
No. I have one for my Fuji XT3.
Could I use on my XT3? Would probably need an adapter right?
There's an X-mount version of this same lens.
Hey !
nice review. is this an apsc lens so it actually is a 35mm or full frame so a 52.5 mm?
Thanks!
It’s a 35mm. The equivalent full frame field of view is 52.5mm.
Me: get more crop sensor lenses
Other Me: i thought you were gonna go full frame dont wast your money 🙄
Nice Lexus btw
There is no need to go for this 35mm f/0.95. In 1.5x crop it's going to perform like a 52.5m f/1.4 lens, only softer than most 50mm f/1.4 lenses.
It’s a gimmick lens you don’t need f0.95. Get cine lenses
@@bigstam1234567890 but 50 f1.4 will become 75 or 80mm
@@-_--le3zk depends on the crop factor
@@bigstam1234567890 How do U know that f0.95 in APS-C is equal to 1.4 in FF?
I clicked a picture at 0.95 on this once, now I'm typing this from the Andromeda Galaxy.
Thanks, good review.
If I use with 6100 will it auto focus?
Nope... it's a manual lens...
it's manual focus, so you will need to focus, I personally still don't have any manual lenses because I often do dynamic events/recording where things are moving so always relying on autofocus, btw a6100 has good af system
Can I used this lens on my canon sl2?
Can this lens take portraits for sony a6300 people?
yes, 35mm is good for portraits
mirrorlessNY How much is its price about Vietnam?
@@jinxtravel__1988 no idea, I live in New York
mirrorlessNY thank you very much! Wish you good health and good luck
@@jinxtravel__1988 thank you, to you as well
Would you recommend it if it is used on an A7iii...? I’m good with cropping in in post with pictures..
you would always need to crop in post then, otherwise vignetting will be visible, can also use crop mode on A73 that way no vignetting
@@mirrorlessny tbf, it looks like youd get more resolution and sensor by cropping manualy as the imaging circle seems to be larger than apsc
@@cinialvespow1054 true, a bit of extra work but yes
@@mirrorlessny wb the SonyA7ii? How do y’all think it’ll look on that for portrait photography
@@Callmewada should be same framing/vignetting as with A7iii
I have the sigma 30mm. This is nice but would only be a redundant lens for me. Your son is growing fast! Great review.
Why redundant?
@@SocietateaAscendenta 30mm 1.4 vs 35mm .94. Pretty much the same. Sigma lenses are superior.
Very NICE review! But a little more variety of adjectives would be NICE... otherwise everything seems NICE and mediocre,
This 7artisans is TWICE as fast.
It’s not redundant. Perhaps you don’t have a need for it, but it’s a totally DIFFERENT lens use.
@@copperstatestudiosPhxAZ Ok. Thanks.
Is there a mount for cannon?
Thank you for the amazing contents Arthur, could you compare this lens to mitakon's 35 0.95 please?
I recommend checking out a neat written review on the Jonas Rask photography blog
