I did a brutal closet clean out earlier this year and it felt so good! I gained a lot of weight over the last few years, and I finally got rid of 95% of my too small clothes. There were 3 or 4 pieces I kept because I made them and really loved them, or they were special. It’s such a great feeling to look in your closet and not dread something being uncomfortable.
These videos are always such good inspiration to get radical and clear out all those things l keep "just in case". That phrase, "I just need to let it go" is so simple but profound. It sums up the counter argument to all the rational arguments we make to keep something. Thank you for helping me be courageous.
I'm currently in the process of trimming my wardrobe. I don't have a number or percentage to use. I can be quite ruthless and have helped friends with this. One friend had over 160 dresses! I think we scaled back to 50. She hasn't missed or regretted any of them. Good job! I know it makes you feel lighter and better about yourself to open the closet without wondering if it will fit. Thanks for the openness and encouragement. Oh, I'm also getting new furniture! I think it made me feel like getting better organized.
This reminds me to go through my trousers and jeans. No idea if I'll get to fit into them again but better to know if they fit. I've been making clothes with slightly wild prints and I agree, it's great to wear stuff you feel good in.
I always dread cleaning out my closet but after watching you do your clean out motivates me. I stopped the video and cleaned out my closet and then came back to finish. ADHD brain 🧠😅 but I do feel better about my y closet now so thanks. 💜
That rabbit fur trim coat is gorgeous!!!!! Wish you’d sell that one online :) The grey blue diagonal button set jacket is so cute! So proud of you doing this! As a reseller/collector/user of vintage clothing, its hard because I can’t really wear my nice vintage stuff to work (engineer in a manufacturing plant) so holding two wardrobes and then what I am saving for my weight loss/breast reduction surgery in the next year, this is something I really need to do.
Whew! You got me moving with your video today. Just did a huge clear out of my closet and drawers. Not sure if there is more in the closet or in the bye bye pile. Did shoes and boots too! Can't wait for my new to me dresser and bureau.
I finally got them all up, feel free to make offers, I price them high to start then move them lower and lower to just get rid of them and I often prefer to sell them real cheap to my subscribers!
I'm always impressed how consistent and ruthless you are going through your closet! If you're up for sharing, I'm curious what percentage of your wardrobe is thrifted vs sewn by you? That rabbit trimmed coat is so pretty❤ I'm a sucker for pretty coats even though I'm bad at wearing them.
That is a really good question, it changes by the year, I'd say at this point dress wise it is 50/50 on whether I made it or thrifted/found it in a vintge shop, blouses, pants and skirts are all more likely to be thrifted!
Great reminder that your clothes should fit you not the otherway around ❤

It seriously does feel good to know everything in your closet fits!

I wish you luck and courage on your next cleanout!

Thank you for the inspiration, I either need to lose weight or get rid😮

I've decided I will list the coats, likely only on Mercari and hopefully I'll get around to them this week.
