Nice job figuring out this big puzzle! Good thing the previous owner did such a good job of documenting everything. Seems as though they wanted to remove EVERYTHING from the play field so they could put Mylar on it but never got 100% to that point for what reason(s).

BSMT2000 is "Brian Schmidt's Mouse Trap". Even used in the stern white star games. Later white star games used a "modified" bsmt which is emulated by atmel chip.

Looking great so far, the clear ramps look like they will clean up nice. This game has crazy multi-ball, I'll be looking forward to seeing how hard it is to get the arms of the creation lined up so they grab and toss balls onto the play field. I guess they are basically just fancy looking kick out holes, the ball lands in a hand and the hand or arm gets kicked up to make the ball jump out.

Looks like whoever took it apart was determined to do a full restoration but was never able to finish it. I know how that feels LOL. At least it looks like you got a fairly low-play game with minimal playfield wear and no battery corrosion.
Guillermo del Toro is making a new Frankenstein film for Netflix, coming out next year. I worked on the film for a few days as an extra, and even had a brief scene where i interacted with Oscar Isaac. They had this pinball in the break room, but it was never turned on. I wanted to so bad, but figured that might be a great way to get kicked off set! Looking forward to seeing you play it!
Love this game. We actually came across one that was branded as a Data East on the head. Had slightly different colored art on the playfield and the DE flipper bats.
It must have been right on the line, I've seen it advertised as a DE on the internet, and the main pcb says Data East (maybe all the Sega's did though not sure)
I would order some screws that match this pin and mark them and just go ahead with the restore and then swap them at the end if you think they mis-match too much. But that's me. I'd do something hacky like that to save time.
I have the game myself and if you cliffy the geneva hole you have a problem with the ball getting hung up on the cliffy. had tp change the post on the playfield to a skinnier one to allow the ball to be able to get by the cliffy without getting stuck. Also sanded down the cliffy to make it thinner in the lower left corner
almost fogot. Since the post diameter was smaller the ball could get stuck on the target. I overcame this problem by getting a hardware corner brace and attaching it under the plastic in that area and adjusting it enough to be able to keep the ball from resting on the target. since it is under the plastic it is hard to see but keeps the balls from being stuck
I think that Cliffy actually adjusted this at some point, and the ones he now sends for the Geneva scope are thinner on the left side to prevent that from happening. I had a friend who bought them probably 5 years ago and had to grind his down to make it thinner, but when I ordered mine last year it was thinner and did not need any changes to work correctly.

Yes they line up very easy, but unfortunately the multiball is a little tricky to start if you're not good :)
