- If La Jette is the best air wave in the world, why haven't we seen footage of it since Jordy and Julian in 2012?
Filmed in Reunion Island at the same wave Ryan Miller claims he saw the 'Best Surfing I've Ever Seen', Eli Beukes, Luke Slijpen and Matthieu Guillaume show why 'La Jette' is still the most perfect air wave in the world.

It seems what makes the wave good for airs is that it's powerful, the wind blows the right direction, it's steep at the top of the wave but the wave isn't really hollow; that is, it breaks steeply but only partially down the wave until the end section which provides more air to flat style section. It's also got a mild slope at the shoulder which makes landings easier

Last I read somewhere, probably a couple years ago now, that they had outlawed surfing on the island.
